4 out of 5 eggsCorsair!

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: SO QUIET. So gloriously QUIET. Corsair has pried me away from what I used to think was quiet. This thing under INTENSE load never makes so much as a whisper. The rails are perfect and I haven't seen droop even on a pretty intense volt increase on a 4670k and some 1866 Gskill Sniper, and a 20% powertuned R9 290x. With a case with lighting and 4 fans. With 2 SSDs, 4 storage drives and a blueray burner.

Cons: I hated doing it but I HAVE to knock an egg off for the psu headers. We have learned a lot over the years about how modular PSU's should be designed. Corsair has it right! They've done it well on both the fully and semi modular units I've owned, but I have the same issue with both. The connectors always have to be worn in, and the first time connecting some of them can feel unnerving as it takes more force tan you probably expect. I enjoy having the ability to customize how I have the 24pin ATX cable and the CPU cables running, and being able to disconnect them from the PSU itself to optimize cable management is nice, but my case is not exactly a huge tower (Coolermaster CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced) but just a few measly centimeters more on them and I could have tucked them nicely into the back. Instead, they have to squish between my 290x and the drive cages. Squish? Yes, because they are sleeved and I think exceedingly fat. The sleeving IS nice, and it IS secure, but why even have modular 24pin cables if they aren't going to consider how people need a little more length to stuff them in the back of modern cases. I'M SORRY FOR THE 4 EGGS CORSAIR PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!

Other Thoughts: Get it. You will love it. If you're looking at it, you probably need it. 750w is a bit much for the system I have it in, but along with Corsair's excellent packaging comes a PSU with amazing build quality and just the right amount of weight so you know its not stuffed with cotton balls.

5 out of 5 eggsBest low price range PSU on the market.

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: The HX series is quiet, powerful, and has plenty of head room for SLI/Crossfire Graphics Cards. Not to mention that it's a beautiful, simple, and clean PSU.

Cons: The only con I have about the HX series is that they aren't fully modular. Besides that, they're near-perfect Power Supplies.

Other Thoughts: It looks cool, has tons of output power, nice sleeving for the wires, and perfect for a mid-to-high range gaming PC.
