5 out of 5 eggsRock solid reliability

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This thing has been rock solid reliable for almost a year is now running a R9 280X and FX-8370E system without an issue. All the connectors I need. Great PSU.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not modular but my method of cable management is maximum spaghetti so not an issue for me.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasently surprised

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very reasonably priced at $30 after promo deal and mail in rebate (assuming it comes through).
Good cable lengths, and lots of connectors.
Cables are all in braided wrap.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Not sure this is worth the regular price of $60, but if you see it on special for $30 like it was a couple weeks ago, jump on it!

5 out of 5 eggsNice PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Works as advertised. Not for a monster system with multiple GPUs, but it will run a midrange MB with a few drives. Always nice to have an extra PSU.

Cons: until it bites me in the rear, I'm loving this little black beauty....

Other Thoughts: Recommendation: no matter what wattage PSU you need, get good quality. Never had an issue with midrange to high end Corsair PSUs. Do not...Do not...go cheap on your PSU. For the new builder or amateur: put a cheap PSU on your expensive MB and eventually you will lose in the end. PSU testers, worth their weight in gold, test your new PSU BEFORE you connect it to your system. You don't want to turn your rig into an expensive smoke bomb!

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Great low cost PSU. Bronze rating and a respectable company to back it up, decent aesthetically, not that it matters too much...

Cons: No modularity. Cords are a mess if you don't have extra room to put them (media bays, HDD bays).

In hindsight, an extra 20-40 dollars is worth modularity and a higher standard of quality.

5 out of 5 eggsIts good

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I was worried at first but the PSU is doing an excellent job so far. My system requires just under 400w and this was a combo deal so I figured I would try it out after looking at reviews and I am very pleased to say this little thing is a beast.

Cons: I wish the mesh around the wires was thicker to cover the ugly wires underneath but its ok because my case has cable management.

Other Thoughts: Running this in an i5 4690k, gtx 960 system

5 out of 5 eggsInstalling Now

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Building new PC today. CPU power cable went clear around back of mobo to NW corner plugin on ATX. Main board power cable long too. Nice cable sheathing - like a snake skin. PSU mounted inverted to exhaust out bottom.

Cons: None-got at good price too.
