1 out of 5 eggsDEAD in less than 2 month

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Only got a few hours of usage.

Cons: DEAD in less than 2 months. Only had a few hours of usage because I had been traveling. Came back home. Turned on the comp and it wouldn't boot. Swapped out the PSU for an EVGA and my comp booted just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I have owned this power supple for over 6 months now and I am very happy I went with the corsair RM750. It is ridiculously quiet and efficient. at idle the fan doesn't even spin and when it does I can't hear even with my ear right next to the fan intake. The modular flat cables make cable management a breeze and they look really nice in the case. You can purchase after market, individually sleeved cables for this psu if that is your thing. Plenty of cables included and the cable length was perfect for my corsair 750D case. Add in the 5 year warranty from corsair and that makes this a perfect psu for my system.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: The cables can be a little stiff to bend, but once you get use to working with them it gets easy.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular is always nice. Had other Corsair PSUs so could share cables if needed.

Cons: After a couple weeks, it now constantly surges, causing PC to reboot, even under light load. Has been RMA'ed once already (replacement took 2 weeks to arrive after offering my credit card up for advanced express replacement...) and, like the first time, worked for about 2 weeks of moderate use before becoming completely unusable again. PC just power cycles constantly. Corsair tech support just blamed my motherboard's anti-surge feature, despite it still restarting the PC with that feature disabled, and the issue not happening with other PSUs.

Other Thoughts: I used to love Corsair products...my 3 yr old Corsair PSU still runs like a champ. These newer models seem to be trash, unfortunately. Feel like I've wasted money both buying this and paying to ship back for RMAs.

5 out of 5 eggs750 Corsair Gold is Gold

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Well... It's a power supply and it works. Packaging was great with custom-fitted foam and well-separated wires. Additional screws for installation into the case were also appreciated, but ultimately unnecessary.

Cons: Shipping was a pain when it was lost for nearly two weeks in the warehouse with no real attempt at a positive spin by customer service. I can't really mark the product down for that though.

5 out of 5 eggsModular heaven

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's modular meaning it's not a pain in the neck. I don't know why you can even still buy a PSU that isn't modular. It's so much easier to run your wires exactly how you want them and you can leave out wires you don't need. The 750W is more than enough for any basic to high end rig. You won't need more unless you play to have dual cpus and dual cards and tons of hdds and ssds or something. I just put together a$1500 rig and this is more than enough for that.

Cons: Perhaps the price? but i suppose thats about what the price should be.

Other Thoughts: The only other thing which really isn't an issue but my case is built for bottom mounting and has a port out the bottom. So I put it right side up to put the fan out the bottom port. In doing so all the text is right side up in my case but since it is bottom mounting you see all the little warnings and such on the top of the psu that is normally hidden in a top mounting case. Its not a huge deal but makes for a slightly less clean look. Would prefer the warnings be on the side mounted towards the mobo so it would be hidden regardless of top or bottom mount.

1 out of 5 eggsCaught on Fire

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: Fire hazard - I only used the PSU for three days before it caught on fire at the 4+4 CPU port and filled my room with smoke. Luckily I was in the room and pulled all the power cables out and got it out of the computer and away from everything else

I don't know if I will ever use a Corsair product again - Who knows what could have happened if I was not in the room when it happened

Other Thoughts: This may be a 1 in 10,000 occurrence but it happened and my wife was thoroughly scared. I don't know if it damaged the other components in my case but I am just glad it didn't end up burning the house down.

3 out of 5 eggsCorsair Caps

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Please anyone planning on buying a Corsair RM PSU be warned. These PSUS have a few cheap capacitors in them which is plain unacceptable from a reputable brand like Corsair. Don't buy PSU's with ANY cheapo Caps in them you're just asking for trouble. If and when a power supply fails it could take some of your other parts with it. BE WARNED. The people buying these DESERVE to know about this if they are going to spend their hard earned money on what they think is a solid PSU.

This is also a problem in the CX series. Really if you buy any PSU from corsair do some research on it beforehand. I recommend XFX preferably the XTR series they are very very good.

Other than that they are good power supplies and can run top of the line graphics cards without a hitch. For how long is the question.
