5 out of 5 eggsWorkhorse PSU

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I purchased this PSU originally on 5/7/2010. I, like many others, were a little unsure about investing this much into a PSU. I am glad I did. AT 750 watts and fully modular, it has given me plenty of headroom to upgrade without any headaches. The back of the PSU is conveniently labeled, making set up a breeze.

The unit comes with many different cables that you can store in a very nice cloth/vinyl pouch when not in use.

I bought this to power to power a AMD Phenom II X4 955 and a Sapphire Radeon 5770. It now powers an i5-4690k and an XFX Radeon 380.

It's black. No distracting LEDs.

It's quiet even under heavy load.

Cons: At nearly 6 years old, this unit has shown no signs of problems.

Other Thoughts: The unit comes with high quality packaging. I even kept the box for misc. storage. Every part down to the box it comes in is usable for years.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU!

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I bought this power supply in 2011, and was nervous because I never spent this much on a power supply, it still runs flawless to this day. I bought this from direction from a friend and SeaSonic makes great products! The fully modular design is great, and it's VERY quiet.

12/31/2015 edit: Still running strong as ever!

Cons: None that I've experienced.

Other Thoughts: I run an i7 Sandy Bridge, 16 Gigs of RAM and a GeForce 560GT -- never had any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid!

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I bought this when it was on sale in 2010. Installed it 4 months ago & I love it. Whisper quiet @ idle. Nice cables & perfect fit for my Antec Three Hundred Two Mid-Tower case. Pushes my power hog Asus R390X without an issue. Great build quality.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this way before my next build (almost 5 years) because of an insane Newegg deal @ the time. This is my 3rd build & I've used Seasonic every time. They never disappoint. They are my PSU go to company.

5 out of 5 eggs2 going strong stilll

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nothing more I can say about them. Have been running good so far. Quiet majority of the time now. Even during heavy gaming and bitcoin mining when I first got it, it's been quiet with the fan on. Provided adequate power.

Cons: None so far, just hope they don't die on me after this review.

Other Thoughts: I don't mine bitcoins nor do heavy gaming anymore so the loads on these are far under used. Would buy again, as these have been solid. Owned others from Antec and Corsair but Seasonic I liked the best. Bought these early 2013. Also bought the x850.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after warrenty

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: did its job while it lasted modular is cool

Cons: Died right after the warranty, I purchased this in 7/27/2011.2/24/2012. when I purchased this model I thought with a gold certification it would last a good while. that is not the case it died no response just dead. I also purchase the sea-sonic SS-560KM3 on 2/24/2012. again gold rated it died within a month of the other. so hear I am with two failed power supplies within months of each-other. I contacted sea-sonic and got the run around. needless to say I will never ever buy another sea-sonic product again.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Marcy,

I am sorry for your experience with our product. May I suggest you to fill in RMA form on seasonic website: http://www.seasonicusa.com/rma.htm
May you have any questions or concern about your power supply, kindly send an email to: newegg@seasonicus.com
Thanks a lot.

5 out of 5 eggsSeasonic sets the bar high

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Solid quality, runs quiet even with the fan on. Never had one fail (and I use a lot of them).

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you see this on a rebate deal, note that Seasonic is exceptional in that they will send you a rebate check in a timely manner. Very nice compared to most other seller's "gift card" rebates that take months to arrive, if ever.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't settle for less!

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I've had this power supply for three years now and it's done its job impeccably. Modular cables keep the power usage down and also keep my case looking clean.

Cons: Could always wish it was cheaper.

Other Thoughts: I just purchased a 650W PSU for putting in another computer. If anything happens with that one I'll make a review for it, otherwise consider me a happy Seasonic customer twice-over.

5 out of 5 eggsReal winner

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Bought back in 2012 still going strong with no signs of immediate failure. See some one star reviews that say its noisy or died shortly after ariving. I personally have none of that so I guess they just got a bad one which happens from time to time.

Electronics are sensitive and don't like to be moved much is all I can say about that.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Would never get anything but a modular PSU ever. Makes for a real nice and clean install what with not having unnecessary cables all over the place.

1 out of 5 eggsDead After 2 Months

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Worked really well while it lasted

Cons: Died after two months. Took a CPU and MOBO with it. Replaced both the CPU and MOBO, assuming it wasnt the PSU and killed the new CPU and MOBO.

Other Thoughts: Probably a fluke in nature. I'll give SeaSonic another shot. Could have avoided killing the second CPU and MOBO had I tested the PSU. Lesson learned!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Joe, I am sorry to read of your issue. Please note, our PSUs all have the necessary protection features so if there is a PSU fault, then the PSU will shut down to protect the other components. If there is a lightening strike or a major surge on the power grid, this will destroy the PSU and all the components. Please make sure you use a surge protector between the computer and the wall outlet. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at: newegg@seasonicus.com

1 out of 5 eggsFlaky Customer Service and Products -- 3 Defective PSUs, 1 Fried Motherboard, and 1 Fried Video Card... Thanks Seasonic

This review is from: SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Velvet pouch to store the unused PSU. Currently using something more reliable.

Cons: First one failed shortly after a year; a capacitor just randomly blew up. Aside from it blowing up within a foot of me, the only thing I can complain about was that it suffered from coil whine. At that point, I was still willing to trust Seasonic for further PSU purchases. I filed for an RMA and received the replacement within a week. Wow. I figured, Seasonic must really care about its customers. Wrong. The replacement I received was a dud as well. It seems to be suffering from internal electrical discharging (you can literally hear the discharges). Worst part about the experience (so far) is that, I believe it killed my motherboards audio during one of its surges. My motherboard did give me a surge protection notice, but I have no way of proving it was due to the faulty PSU. Would they compensate me should it kill my next motherboard? Probably not.

[Update]: Uploaded a video so you could hear the replacement unit I received. Seasonic was initially hesitant to take it back. They only offered another replacement because I kept complaining about it. Third unit was the one that toasted my video card.

I've been trying to contact Seasonic for the past two weeks (through emails and through their automated online forms), but it's all getting rejected. People don't like filling RMAs for the products they buy (especially PC products) anymore than a company wants to fulfill their warranty claim. It's a weeks worth of downtime, and for every shipment, it's at least $10 (without insurance) to ship it. Take note: should the PSU get lost in the mail, they're not responsible. It'd be nice if they actually tested their refurbished PSUs before slapping an "OK" sticker on it and shipping it out to a customer that has already been let down the first time around. Bottom line Seasonic? If you're replacing a faulty product, make sure the replacement works.

I'll post an update down the line, but for now, to me anyhow, Seasonic represents flaky products and flaky customer service.

[Update]: PSU sparked on me again, melting the PCI-E cables connected to my video card and burning the connects on my video card as well. I complained to Seasonic that the video card has not been the same since the spark -- no real support. They asked me to ship the video card out to them, since they wouldn't cover the cost of repairing it through the original manufacturer. They cleaned out the burnt plastic from the PCI-E connectors and shipped the card back out. What a joke.

The upside -- they sent me a new unit, but only after requesting and complaining over the last 3 units I've had. It wasn't a retail box unit -- just a new PSU with some extra cables tossed on the side.

My advice? Go with another manufacturer, even if the PSU is made by Seasonic (such as Corsair, EVGA, Silverstone).

Other Thoughts: Promised Seasonic support a bad review, so here it is. Review was originally written for another e-tailer, with pictures and a video. Too lazy to write a new one.

Hi David, it is very sad that you actually take the time to post this fake review. Normally I do not reply to Verified Owner's reviews but I think your require a response. What you have written does not make any sense, sorry to say. You are just trying to make a list of things which you have read about and compile it into one place.
