1 out of 5 eggsCoolmax ZX 500W 80 Plus

Pros: Price, great packaging (Box was of better quality than the product.)

Cons: Went snap, crackle, pop in one week of light use.

Other Thoughts: I put this product in a new built with modest power requirements. While watching U Tube, it popped. I threw it away rather than get a replacement. My last Coolmax, I won't even buy their fans. Worst Ever!

1 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: none

Cons: Died after 2 months on a computer that was not used very much. Fan was also a lot louder than my old PSU.

Should have known for the price. Will not be buying another Coolmax

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works. I'm no where near maxing out the 500 watts, but it performs like it should. Nice price.

Cons: Much noisier than any power supply I've owned, but I'm not using this PC where noise is an issue. Definitely not recommended for HTPC or if you just like a quiet PC. If I had my choice, I'd like it to be quieter, but it's not worth the hassle of returning it.

Other Thoughts: The person complaining about it not fitting their case must be trying to stuff it in a micro-PC or something. It fits perfectly fine in my mid-tower case. It's longer than the cheap power supply that came with the case by a few inches, but still slides right in without issue.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: DId what it is supposed to. Quiet. Voltage rails had hardly any fluctuations.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not a bad PSU for the price. Enough watts for a mid-range build. Great consistancy on all voltage rails. Would buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Hasn't caught on fire. Cheap 500w PSU.

Cons: Cable management. It's sloppy. If you can afford a modular PSU, do yourself a favor and get one.

Other Thoughts: I don't stress test PSU's or anything, so I really don't know how else to review this. It worked out of the box, doesn't get hot, and continues to work so far.
