5 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Runs cool and Quiet.

Cons: The SATA connectors are a little bit stiff, making it a little difficult to connect and disconnect them.

Other Thoughts: Works well, put this in three builds with an i7-4770 and a low-end professional graphics card.

4 out of 5 eggsRosewill Capstone 650-M

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - No coil whine
- Semi-modular
- Fairly quiet
- Plain black casing
- Gold rating efficiency
- Superflower OEM
- 5 years warranty

Cons: - Fan is not as quiet

Other Thoughts: Got it on sale and in my hands 2 days after.

This 650w PSU (Most likely too much but the sale was great) is powering my Phenom II 965 @ 4.0, R9 270X, an SSD and HDD flawlessly. Don't feel much heat coming out from the back after 2 hours of gaming.

No coil whine which is a big plus. The fan is slightly louder than I'd like and you could hear some electrical noise if you put your ear close enough to the back of the PSU, but I am just nitpicking.

I had the first version of Modu82+ which was perfect. No coil whine, no electrical noise, barely heard the fan spin even after full load... But unfortunately after extensive use since 2008, the fan has started to make some annoying rattling noise and out of warranty.

So I researched for a decent PSU and of course looked at popular choices; Seasonic, Corsair, etc... but read about their awful coil whine from Seasonic OEM. It made me look away, coil whine will annoy my wife and eventually will whine too... But hers is worse. Haha!

Don't let the in-house brand fool you, Superflower Golden Green inside, semi-modular and gold efficiency for $85 (On sale!). Highly recommended if you're on a tight budget.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic till it died

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Love the modular setup. Good efficient and QUIET.

Cons: Bought 4/4/2013, died 9/21/2013.

Turned PC off for the night. Turned it back on, Unit "Clicked", and no more power delivered.

You will lose the excess wires (normal for modular systems).

Other Thoughts: I do like the PSU. Will send it back for warranty and consider reinstalling into system.

It is a good unit, mine just kicked the bucket for no reason.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PSU

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Nice build quality, quiet, very stable voltages

Cons: Not cheap...but still a good value given the quality

Other Thoughts: I've mostly used Antec PSUs in the past but after some research and finding out that this model is manufactured by Super Flower I thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: + Runs quiet
+ Easy install
+ Plenty of cables
+ Seems to be plenty of juice for my GTX780 w/ the ACX cooler

Cons: None that I can think of, hopefully it doesn't die.

Other Thoughts: Cables were kind of "funky" at first with how their "chained" together.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this thing

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's a fully modular, SLI ready, gold rated, 650W power supply that I think I got for $40. I don't know how much better you can get.
This thing stays cool. I've never experienced any temps more than 5 degrees above room temp come out of the honeycomb exhaust.
The material it is made out of is interesting. It provides texture in a case where generally there is none.
The rubber caps for the output holes are nice if you have a dusty case
The braided cables make it look nice and neat.

Cons: I don't know of any.

Other Thoughts: Not actually made out of gold, unfortunately :/

Pros: gold rated
lots of cables

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I got it when it was $90 a real bargain for a 650 watt gold rated psu

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill hasn't disapointed yet

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This is my second PSU from Rosewill. The first is still working fine that I bought 4 years ago. I just need something a little beefier with the new gaming rig I set up. Great Modular PSU, would recommend to anyone looking for a PSU and good pricing.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Value

This review is from: Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: At the time I purchased it, this power supply was the cheapest 650W gold certified modular power supply on newegg. It had great reviews so I purchased it and I was very happy. It came with plenty of cables and it has worked perfectly.

Cons: My car won't run on it.
