5 out of 5 eggsThis PSU Lasted 750W

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: Modular, reliable, pretty.
I bought this on November 14, 2009. Died today, June. 14, 2014. RIP. I've never had a PSU last almost 5 years. Kudos to you OCZ.

Cons: Wish the 24 pin connector was longer.

1 out of 5 eggsFried it all

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: Great while it worked...

Cons: This thing has fried my crosshair v and who knows what else. I haven't been able to test everything individually yet, but I do not that I just bought an R9 290x and if that's dead too, I think I may just office space the psu

Other Thoughts: I don't hate OCZ products, I actually purchase a lot, but power supplies should just die NOT KAMAKAZI!! I contacted them I will keep everyone up to date!

5 out of 5 eggsSurvived Sustained Abuse

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: I punished this PSU far more than any respectable enthusiast would.
Mobo: High Performance x58
CPU: i7 970 overclocked (6 cores x 3.67ghz) all 12 threads at 100% load 24/7 (F@H)
GPU: GTX 560ti at 100% load 24/7 (F@H)
3xDDR3 @ 2000mhz
12 Fans and 1 water pump
Having lasted as long as it did is a testament to its build quality.

Cons: The death of this PSU came 4.5 years after purchase, with the symptoms of its demise beginning at about 3.5 years. It started with an occasional random lockup, which I erroneously blamed on an aging SSD, there were then various stability issues which I neglected to do anything about for months; Finally, I pressed the power button after a shutdown and heard a loud electrical 'pop' followed by a completely dead machine, after I realized how old the PSU was, and I took stock of the abuse I put it through, I was satisfied with the way it has staggered onward through its misery for the past year.

Other Thoughts: There are a lot of negative reviews complaining that this unit died after "only" 4 years of use. If these users had looked at the warranty information, they would have known that the unit was only expected to last a little over 3 years. These reviews indicate to me that this unit exceeds reasonable expectations.

2 out of 5 eggsFail

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: I had no problems for 2 and half years. Served its purpose

Cons: Once it started failing PC would shutoff after 20 to 30 minutes. Had to replace.

Other Thoughts: OCZ no longer honoring warranty. Have to deal with another company.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted almost 3 years

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: Worked great, until it didn't.

Cons: Just died out of the blue.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in May 2011, and it worked great for almost 3 years. Then overnight, it just stopped working, dead as a doornail.

1 out of 5 eggssecond one to die

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: Looks nice and is quite heavy, and the modular part is great

Cons: This one lasted 1&1/2 yr then quite on a computer with only one gtx460 and only used maybe two to three days per month.off the rest of the time. And no gaming!
Had a modexstream 600 before this PSU and it lasted 9 months

Other Thoughts: Once maybe twice poorly made

1 out of 5 eggsdead

This review is from: FirePower ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply 700MXSP, formerly PC Power & Cooling

Pros: It was a nice, modular power supply.

Cons: While it lasted. Made it 4 years, died this week. Warranty period has passed.

Other Thoughts: Looks like a lot of people have been losing their OCZ power supplies recently. Sucktastic. I guess my 600w unit is on death row too.
