5 out of 5 eggsrunning strong for 5 years

Pros: It's been in my desktop computer for *5 years* and it hasn't given me trouble yet. I don't know what other endorsement you really need.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsModular PS is great, lifespan is OK I guess

Pros: The modular cable are super nice, lots of SATA connections and
PCI-e connections as well.

Cons: Red LED?

Other Thoughts: I've owned it since 10/2010. So 4 1/2 years. The warranty is for 3 years so I guess it did what it said it would. Just glad it didn't take any other components down with it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent in all ways

Pros: I have used 4 of these so far, and no problems ever. The oldest 2 have been running 16 hours a day every day for almost 4 years. Modular cabling keeps things neat inside the case.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If same price and upped them to Gold efficiency... that would great. I'll buy another one next time they are on sale or have a rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsENDURANCE

Pros: I've had this PSU for about 3-4 years now, still going strong. I just recently snapped the clip of the main board connector, had no effect on it. still fits in snug, you can even yank on it and it won't come out.

Also, I host a minecraft server with this, so my computer is basically on 24/7.

Cons: its not COMPLETELY modular, the main 3 cords arent disconnectable, but you shouldn't need to take them out (there is one, the 8 pin, that i dont use but meh)

Other Thoughts: I will report back when this one dies, i expect another few years out of it

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 5 years then died.

Pros: Bought it in 2010 and it worked great until now.

Cons: Advertised life expectancy is >100,000 hours. Don't be deceived, mine died just after 43000 hours.

Other Thoughts: 5 years of non-stop running isn't too bad I guess, but no where near the advertised life span. This is a really old model and if you are looking for a more solid PSU I'd look at other newer products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat low-power PSU

Pros: Red fan LED and overall styling of PSU is pretty awesome in my opinion. Modular cables are nice but remember only about 1/2 the cables are modular, you will still have some attached to the unit even if you don't use them (probably obvious in the pic but it was worth mentioning). Not going to run high end cards but for a simple build like my media center I LOVE it and it has given me no issues in the over a year that I've had it. Would recommend to others and/or buy again.

Cons: Red LED lighting isn't all that bright but that is fine with me, looks awesome as is.

5 out of 5 eggs4 years old

Pros: Four years old and the fan only just died. Pushing dual Radeon R7 240s, an AMD 8350, a 256gb SSD and one TB mass storage plus a couple of other devices. It has been running for four years, nearly 24/7. I run Seti at Home (BOINC) so my PC is almost never down. I will order another fan from Newegg!

Cons: I should have read the previous reviews first before I posted my first review. I keep my PC CLEAN. I've peeled open my PSU and found it to be in great condition, except for the fan of course. Do these other reviewers maintain their systems properly? I don't know. This PSU is a SOLID piece of equipment.

Other Thoughts: I have helped many of my friends and family with their PCs over the years. Everything from hardware issues to malware. The biggest problem I see, almost without fail, is the dirt that builds in a PC. Your PC uses your atmosphere for its cooling, you clean your house but, not your PC?!

3 out of 5 eggsDied right on schedule

Pros: Unit functioned as advertised for 3.5 years. The 550 watt power supply provided enough power for a 100w CPU, 6 hard drives, and 50w graphics card.

Cons: Died 6 months after warranty ran out . The good news is that it didn't take anything with it.

3 out of 5 eggs3 Year life is REAL!

Pros: Looks cool and works just fine.

Cons: I read this thing would last 3 years. Mine lasted from 9/10/10 to 12/1/14, so I got a little more out of it than others have. It did the same thing others have mentioned, there was a pop and little spark and then absolutely nothing after that. A quick trip to best buy to get a corsair fixed all my problems.

Other Thoughts: I guess if you look at it as leasing it for 10 bucks a year that's not too bad, glad it didn't fry anything along with it.

5 out of 5 eggs550 Watts of Awesome

Pros: semi-modular glory
heavy
its named after someone famous, which automatically makes it more efficient

Cons: none. ever. probably for the next 12 years.

Other Thoughts: I was dusting out my computer the other day and noticed a bunch of unnecessary-looking wires everywhere. after concluding they were not important, i cut them with some garden shears and ripped out the box they were connected to. As it turns out, that box was the power supply, so i found myself in need of a new one.

The moment i plugged this in i knew i made the right choice. Once i got it up and running, the red LEDs alone made my GPU twice as fast as before. The modular cables automatically superclocked my ram and doubled my hard drive space to 16 ultrabytes. My CPU doesnt even need a heatsink/fan anymore; its cold to the touch.
I know what youre thinking: it cant get any better, but it does! This PSU is so efficient, it has actually begun to power itself and i no longer need to plug it in, proveing that electricity is basically a conspiracy.

As a nice bonus, I used the leftover cables to make a cat o' nine tails and punish those pesky little girls that come to my door selling cookies.

10/10 would impulsively buy on Black Friday again.
