1 out of 5 eggsCoil Whine

Pros: Affordable, Semi Modular, DC-DC, fairly quiet, well reviewed

Cons: Mine had coil whine, fan can be loud

Other Thoughts: Mine whined when the PC was turned off, was pretty annoying. Especially after spending 2 hours getting it installed and wired up nice. It's not the most quiet PSU around either at high load. I sent it back and purchased a Seasonic X-650. Still waiting for it to arrive...

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Cables are long to reach to the top of my large case (psu mounted on the bottom). 9 SATA power connectors was awesome (I used them all).

Cons: Just a day or two after installing it began to give an intermittent loud high pitched noise. I would have to shutdown the PC and wait a few seconds before it would go away. It could be heard throughout the house! I did some more research later to find that this was common with Antec power supplies. I shipped it back to NewEgg for a refund.

Other Thoughts: I went to my local Best Buy and purchased a Thermaltake power supply which I am not having problems with.

1 out of 5 eggsHigh Frequency Noise Coming From Inside PSU

Pros: Solid design, modular design, Antec brand.

Cons: High pitched frequency from a loose coil on this unit as soon as I turned off my computer.

Other Thoughts: As soon as I turned my computer off I got a very loud frequency noise that was coming from the PSU. When I would flip the switch from the back of the PSU off I could hear the frequency noise dwindling down.

It didn't take rocket science to find out the souce of this problem. All it took was me putting my ear next to the unit to determine where the noise was originating from.

I'm now in the process of getting this unit RMA'd. After reading some comments here on Antec's customer support, I hope I don't find myself in a similar situation. I really need this computer up and running soon.

1 out of 5 eggsThis sucks!

Pros: All the features and price with rebate!

Cons: Arrived DOA. Booted for a couple seconds then died. It is terribble that I have to pay for shipping when the product doesnt work. This went from a great deal to a mediocre one in two seconds not to mention the down time wasted to get a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Newegg usually rocks on getting replacements though!

1 out of 5 eggsFail

Pros: Worked for 8 months

Cons: Worked for 8 months

Other Thoughts: This was put in my first build. Previously owned 4 Dell PCs. This was first PSU failure I've experienced. Based on what I hear about others experience RMAing Antec garbage I'm not even gonna bother. Hopefully the 650w Corsair unit I replaced it with will last a bit longer.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointment

Pros: It did what it was supposed to do for 1 year. It was on sale when I purchased it.

Cons: Worked for a little more than 1 year. Submitted for an RMA with Antec. I can see my case on their web site, but they do not appear to be in a hurry to assist. I am without the service of my computer while they are taking their time.

Other Thoughts: I am disappointed in Antec's customer service. I went with them because I thought they would offer better support than companies offering power supplies for less. I realize that power supplies can go bad, but I expected to be contacted with an RMA much sooner than this.

1 out of 5 eggsGood when it works

Pros: Modular, quiet fan, stable voltage on every rail, silent.

Cons: Lasted a little over a month. Antec customer support is one of the worst I have ever seen in my entire life. RMA process feels like its been done kind of complicated on propose. They received the fried PSU over three weeks ago. Still no news for me as of today. Not even a message confirming they have received it or that they are already working on the replacement, etc.

Other Thoughts: Yes, I would take my business some place else next time. I honestly believe Antec is not the company I would like to do business with again. This was a one time experience to understand why my co-workers also hate Antec.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Ralphy, my name is Eric and I am the Antec sales representative. I checked our RMA system and I couldn't find your record. Please contact me directly by email at, so I can assist you further.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't meet my needs

Pros: Hmmmm

Cons: It has enough default cables to plug into my system.
24 pin mobo, 4 pin cpu, 2 HDD Sata, 1 IDE and 2 PCI-E 6 pins.
Plugging these in the system would not continously power then die before getting anywhere.
I unplugged a bunch of cables, added in a couple of the modular cable addon's and only ran one item per cable.
This allowed me to boot up at least one HDD, Motherboard and the PCI-E device.

Other Thoughts: Really upset with this product my OCZ Power Cooling & Supply 600W PSU powered the current system fine for 4 years that it replaced.
Store was just out of stock of what I was looking for so I tried this.
