4 out of 5 eggsFor The Money...

Pros: If you consider what you're buying and the price you're paying then you'll be quite happy with this tablet. It does not have action buttons or tilt sensitivity but those are easily forgivable for the price. The battery in the pen is a non issue as the pen is very light and the pen holds a charge quite well.

The appearance and build quality of the tablet is great for the price range. The surface has the texture of paper but not the feel or resistance. I had no problems.

Cons: There are minor quirks one must expect at this price range. As with even the leading tablets you need to be careful with the USB port. Anyone who buys this or any other Huion tablet MUST HEED THESE NOTES: The drivers are not very good!

You must not plug the tablet in until the drivers are installed. Remove any other tablet drivers, disable pen flicks and uninstall Tablet PC components from the Windows Components in Programs and Features.

Install the Huion driver package. You will probably get a warning about a driver signature issue. Open the applet for the driver and disable support Tablet PC. Then you can plug in the tablet and it should work.

After all of this is done the drivers seem to work mostly fine. I have crashed the applet changing the aspect ratio once. Based on my research people have experienced drivers that refuse to install correctly or incorrect line-per-inch reading if these steps are not followed. This procedure is what was recommended.

Other Thoughts: I am just learning to draw and this was an excellent value. I did buy it elsewhere to get a warranty that is immediate as opposed to taking over after the manufacturer warranty. I have heard Huion is decent with warranty support but you have to send them videos of the issue.

2 out of 5 eggsFlop for me

Pros: Price
Fast Shipping
Pen holds a long charge

For someone with an EXTREMELY tight budget and just getting into digital art, this may be for you.

Cons: For me, this tablet is useless. It can have all the pressure sensitivity options that it wants, but when the mechanical release within the pen takes .5 seconds to come out, you lose all pressure sensitivity when lifting the pen. (as mentioned by another reviewer here at newegg)

The travel distance for the tip is WAY too far. Using this device with cad software, or even creating simple vectors is VERY DIFFICULT.

Other Thoughts: Although I love the look, and was impressed upon unboxiing this tablet is 100% useless to me. I contacted Huion support today to see if they offer a new pen that doesn't completely fail, or if I can just return the product and get a refund.

3 out of 5 eggsAverage, but no Mouse Mode

Pros: Sleek Tablet, responsive, quick shipping- Pretty much what the specifications and reviews show you is what you get. Software, however...

Cons: Software/drivers had a lot of options but one vital to my own personal preferences is missing- Mouse Mode/Relative Positioning.

Having learned to use tablets entirely by Mouse Mode, this tablet, which lacks the option, is pretty much useless to me. The amount of information surrounding this tablet while researching it and trying to find drivers is very limited, and their customer service responses seem to be scattered and unclear. In some areas I was able to find a small handful of responses indicating there WAS a mouse mode and in others that there wasn't- likely due to the handful of similar tablet products that probably feature software that may have the Mouse Mode feature.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat tablet but missing Driver CD-ROM

Pros: Great responsiveness for the most part. A nice big area to draw on and pretty responsive with the drivers I got off of their website. Great price for what seems to be a great tablet.

Cons: I didn't get a DVD/CD-ROM with drivers, etc. So after downloading their drivers online (which all say use the CD-ROM) I have a working tablet. The instructions for setting up the tablet using the control panel are completely useless for me, for it doesn't match at all with what I am seeing. The whole reason for me to get this tablet was to use it with GIMP. Now that I have it working as far as registering on my monitor I can seem to get the pressure sensitivity to show up at all. Basically I feel like I am missing some of the software used to run this thing and am only getting half of what I paid for because of it. So while I think I would really like this tablet if I could use it fully, so far I am rather disappointed and would probably have gone with something else that was more reliable.

Other Thoughts: I think the company could do a little better job of providing information on their site about how to get the tablet working, and not just user manuals that all expect everything to be exactly as it says it should.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent alternative to Wacom tablets

Pros: The price is great for what you get out of it. The rechargeable pen is convenient, since I don't have to deal with replacing its battery in the middle of a drawing session. The 8x5-inch drawing area is ideal for both my drawing motions and my available desk space. The 4.9-feet USB cable length is convenient for those whose computers are located below the desk.

Cons: There is a bright green light on the front bezel of the tablet that indicates when the pen is actively engaged with the drawing surface. This constantly blinks during my drawing sessions, and is very distracting off the corner of my eye. I've learned to ignore it (even in the dim light of my computer area), but a dim red light on the side (or even the back) of the bezel would be less annoying.

Also, the pen that came with my unit has a frustrating issue: the internal mechanism of the pen tip will sometimes stick, and won't immediately release when I lift the pen off the drawing surface. I end up with squiggly lines all over my drawing, because the pen is still registering a pressure even though I've stopped pressing down on it. It takes a half-second before I feel an internal click that indicates the tip has finally disengaged.

This issue doesn't happen all the time. In fact, at first I thought it was just dirty. However, after replacing the pen nib three times and wiping the nibs clean, the issue still occurs. Since I really needed this tablet to complete a project at the time, and couldn't afford to lose days/weeks sending it back and waiting for a replacement, I made do with the pen issue instead.

Other Thoughts: I'm assuming my pen issue is just bad luck that I got a defect. However, between the distracting blinky light and the questionable quality control that sent me a bad pen, I can't give this item 5-stars. It's a good tablet, though, and it replaces a 13-year old first-gen Wacom Intuos that really needed to be replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsHuion K58 Graphic Tablet

Pros: It is recognized by Windows 7 and 8 so you can use it to digitally sign your name and use in Microsoft Works. It also works in Photoshop and Coral which is my main reason I bought it. So far so good, just got to get used to making lines with it in Photoshop. Seams to be easier in Coral.

Cons: No light indicator for when the battery is low or fully charged. Also the choices for the two buttons could be better, like letting use keyboard keys. How ever for the price these few cons seam not worthy of dropping an egg.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this Tablet, out shines any other with its price and functionality.
