1 out of 5 eggsReal Bad

Pros: Installed real easy

Cons: Tiny cd with software zipped, very confusing. Card was recognized by Windows Manager and Belarc but the card only recognized a plugged in hard drive and usb drives every 10th or 15th power up which I reported to Utechsmart support by email as there support web site has been taken down and there phone rings busy 24 hours a day. Out of three emails I sent to UtechSmart they answered only one asking "what is 10th and 15th" I cannot recommend this company or there board. "Beyer beware"

Other Thoughts: Cards going back tomorrow. I think the card was functional but the software flaky. If only Utechsmart would have help me. An 18 month warranty isn't much good if there is no company to honor it. I think the company is going under.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: USB3 works intermittently.

Cons: USB3 woks intermittently and not available till windows starts so no good for system restore from outboard drive.
USB2 works not at all.
Drivers supplied on disk and website are for Renesas chips. Chips on board are not Renesas chips. Firmware is also for wrong chips.

Other Thoughts: No support. Would be a great card if it had drivers that worked.

1 out of 5 eggsOne for the junk pile

Pros: The card fit into the PCIe slot. That is the only positive I can think of here.

Cons: I needed to download new drivers. That was no big deal but even the software wasn't clearly laid out on how to install it. After the install and a reboot or two, the card seemed to work until i plugged in a USB External drive. The drive repeatedly dropped and reconnected. After troubleshooting I found that it wasn't the drive, but the card that kept failing and re-installing up to 4 times per minute, over and over! I tried re-seating, even trying it in a different slot to be sure, It's the card that fails.

Other Thoughts: The part that really stinks is that it's past the 30 days so i cant return it. By the way in case you're wondering, this went into a brand new Dell T3500 running Windows 8.1

5 out of 5 eggsGood solution!!

Pros: Very easy to install, just install and turn computer on in W8. Seems to have good speeds up to 133 mbps average about 95 . It certainly seems well built and the 18 month warranty speaks for the manufacturer's on commitment and faith in their product.

Cons: none yet

3 out of 5 eggsReview of 3.0

Pros: Managed to get 348 MB using a Go Flex Seagate 2 TB Desktop Drive. (Only for a few Seconds, and then it went Down to 13 MBs, and Averaged out at 22 MBs. But this could be because of the problems many people have had with the Go Flex line. Hope to get a better External drive to better test this card out with. In the meantime, I managed to get sustained 115 MB transfer rates using a Regular SATA 2 7200 rpm 1 TB Seagate Drive in Vantec's Nexstar Hard Drive Duplicator when transferring a 5.5 Gigabyte file with Music Files.

Cons: There are several things that frustrated me about this card. One is that the driver for updating FIRMWARE on UtechSmart's Site is NOT Compatible with Windows 8 64 Bit as it seems to only want to run in Vista 32 Bit Environment. I was able to download their Driver and install it, however unsuccessful with any firmware update it might need for better performance in Windows 8.1.

Other Con is that the card was slightly bent when I got it and had difficulty installing it in my thermaltake Shark in the PCI x1 slot, the bad thing is that the card doesn't sit flush with the back of the metal plate like most cards should. And the one annoyance is that the USB Connections are CRAMMED at the top of the card, instead of CENTERED in the middle of the card. So when you plug in, the top of the usb plug sits right near the top edge of the PCI Card Port.

Other Thoughts: I still have more testing to do with this card. But using it in conjunction with Vantec's Hard Drive Dock, and a good working SATA Hard Drive might yield better transfer rates if I get an Sata III Hybrid Drive 150Mbs, a Velociraptor 200 Mbs or an SSD card with much higher 500-600 Transfer rates

One other thought is that USB 3.0 should have never been offered on the PCI x1 as a cheap option for USB 3.0. A Card such as this would benefit from the extra channels you get under PCI x4. So most PCI x1 Cards REALLY are Underperforming as most of them won't reach over 250 Mb Transfers, versus possible 1000 Mb transfers with a PCI x4 card. And USB has been riddled with problems, because they didn't account for the actual Transfer speeds that you get with most standard SATA Drives. They account for 5 Gig Transfers with SSD DRIVES.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card!

Pros: All-Solid Capacitors! Stable transfers. Remarkable attention to detail and craftsmanship

Cons: USB Ports are upside-down like in most other PCI-E USB cards. As-is, if you install this card from the left of your PC case (as most cases are designed to be opened from the left-hand side [from front]), the connection strip inside each port will be closer to the bottom of the port, and most flash drives are inserted right-side-up with the connection strip closer to the TOP of each port.

Other Thoughts: Good overall card! UtechSmart is quickly becoming a reputable brand!
