1 out of 5 eggsFool Me Once, Shame On You

Pros: - Good sound quality

Cons: - Cheaply made headphones. Delicately used, yet these headphones still broke in half.
- Poor customer support. When I was looking for a replacement cable, their customer support could not offer a solution.
- Headphone cups are not durable at all. As mentioned earlier, I delicately used these headphones. However, the leather surrounding the cups started coming apart after at most ten uses.

Other Thoughts: After going through two JBL headphones, it is safe to say I will stay away from JBL at all costs.

4 out of 5 eggsJBL J88a

Pros: Quality of sound is good

Cons: Left ear pad started to separate after one weeks of use. Contacted Harman Support (support@harman.com) they are going to exchange the J88a for J88i because the J88a has been discontinued. They provide a prepaid UPS shipping label to ship product back. After searching the internet this seams to be a common problem, hope the replacement are better quality ear pads. I contacted Harman at (1-800-336-4525) and provided Newegg sales receipt by email and they sent return shipping label by email with instructions to return headphones. Supper fast.

Other Thoughts: I rated this a four having to replace the headphones but the support from Harman is supper. The warranty for these headphones are one year.

Update: 1/2/2016, Harman JBL was out of stock for the J88`s. They gave me the option to select another headphone that cost $149.99. I selected the Synchros S300a. Sound quality is
much better than the J88`s and the base is much deeper. HARMAN support is exceptional

4 out of 5 eggsNice headphones

Pros: For what i paid these are nice head phones with a crisp clear sound, nice detectable cable and headphones fold inward to be put in the free pouch that was given as well.

Cons: What I did not like is how easy the leather feel material can tear so be careful on that.

Other Thoughts: Wish there was more base to them but I was aware of what I was buying. I was just a wish

1 out of 5 eggsPOOR RETURN POLICY

Pros: USED TO BE ABLE TO RELY UPON NEW EGG FOR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOR THEM TO STAND BY THEIR MOTTO: EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANTED: GUARANTEED. NOT SO MUCH. THESE HEADPHONES MAKE MY HEAD HURT. TRIED TO RMA THEM. SO I HAVE TO PAY A RE-STOCKING FEE AND THEN PAY TO SHIP THEM BACK?!?!? MY REFUND WILL END UP BEING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF $3-4. NOT EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED, AS GARAUNTEED...

Cons: HEADPHONES HURT MY HEAD.

Other Thoughts: NEW EGG USED TO BE MY GO-TO STORE FOR GREAT TECHNOLOGY. I THINK I WILL PAY A BIT MORE AND SHOP WHERE THINGS ARE REALLY "GUARANTEED"

3 out of 5 eggsGreat value on sale

Pros: Comfortable, great bass response, can be driven very hard, decent sound isolation.

Fantastic sale price of $22 shipped.

Great for gaming, rock, bass heavy music.

Cons: Poor separation, muddy highs, poor definition.

Other Thoughts: Small disclaimer: I tend to have eclectic musical tastes, and a work history in theater lighting and audio design; so I may just be a picky person.

I found that although these would excel at gaming and rock/rap/house, they tend to fall out of the sky with any other task.

If you're like me and listen to jazz, chamber music, and wind ensembles; you will be sorely disappointed - there is very little detail in the mid-to-highs (especially the highs) it all kind of feels muddy and flat.

If you can get a custom EQ set up, you could probably sharpen up the highs, but you won't pick up the nuances that really makes instrument music 'pop' (hearing clicking of keys, breathing, pages being turned)

As stated in my pros section: For $22 shipped when on sale; you can't complain. I wouldn't pay anything more than $30 for them, but at $22, they blow away most any sub-$50 headphones.

OVERALL - If you're the average person listening to average music or playing video games, and they go on sale again for $22 - pick them up. A fantastic value over-all, but won't make audiophiles happy at any price.
