4 out of 5 eggsWorked Flawless Until (Update)

Pros: This device worked great. Easy to install.
No problems what so ever just stays on my desk.
Connected several HDD with sizes with no problems.
Worked as advertised.

Cons: Stopped working in less than a year. Just stays on my desk.
I also turn it off before changing HDD.

Other Thoughts: Didn't use the software One Touch Backup.
Emailed manufacturer... we shall how good their customer service is.

Update:
Unitek was quick to respond and was able to resolve my issue. I would recommend Unitek but not this product.
Four eggs for Unitek not the product.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have used 6 different SATA hard drives in this docking station and it has handled all of them. The oldest is 8 years old and newest is 2 years old.

Cons: I was unable to read an Intel SSD 330 Series 180GB drive. I didn't buy this unit to access SSD drives so I am OK with this. You may not be.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect accessory for spare drives

Pros: Sits on my desktop and does what it should. An inserted drive shows up in Windows explorer as if it was installed, so I can drag files on and off, store files, analyze a drive, use a dedicated backup drive--you name it. The three USB ports on the front are very handy. Highly recommended.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've wanted a drive dock for a long time, but I'm glad I waited until this one came around. Well worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery useful

Pros: It works as a drive dock and a USB 3.0 hub

Cons: I had to rearrange things on my desk to get it into a good position.

Other Thoughts: As other reviewers have noted, the popcorn gets stale entirely too fast. I'd suggest a proper standalone popcorn maker.

5 out of 5 eggs:o)

Pros: Shipped quickly and arrived as scheduled. Software included or Plug and Play. USB 3.0 and 3 port hub. Excellent customer service!!!

Cons: None to date.

Other Thoughts: Set up was a breeze. Comes with an installation CD included but opted for trying plug and play and it worked like a charm. Had two old hard drives I'd pulled from PC's a few years back and wanted to recheck to see if I'd copied everything off them. Hooked up the Unitek docking station to my PC and dropped in the hard drive and, voila!, Windows (7) recognized it right off the bat and performed flawlessly. Was able to copy all data from the old drives and paste to the new PC so it definitely served it's purpose right out of the box. The 3 port USB 3.0 is simply an added bonus. And to top it off, I received a follow-up email from their Customer Service Dep't wanting to make sure all was well...kind of a rare event in itself these days. Only used it twice and will update this review if needed so for now I wholeheartedly recommend this if you think it'll fit your needs.

3 out of 5 eggsPopcorn comes out a little stale

Pros: Works with SATA III as well as the older drives. Has a USB3 port. I didn't exactly test the speed on the ports, but it *seems* just as fast as direct-connecting to a USB3 port in the computer. I really like that it's a space-saver on the desk. I am constantly swapping out hard drives, and this is so much better than a horizontal-loader or a direct-connector. It's a very sensible layout for the USB ports. I even like how it looks, and that it can make popcorn!

Cons: Popcorn takes WAAAY too long to cook. Came out stale.
USB3 ports are connected to single power switch in the back. The same power switch which controls power for the SATA drive... Which means that if you want to unmount / swap your SATA drive, you also have to disconnect anything plugged into USB3. Why wouldn't you just have the USB3 ports be 'always-on' ? Confused!
Power switch thingy aside, it ALSO seems to have problems with USB-connected devices if computer goes to screen saver (not sleep), and potentially some other disconnection problems with the hub. I have not had time to diagnose EXACTLY what causes USB drives & dongles to unmount, but I know that it's happened to me a few times a day using this thing.

Other Thoughts: Connected over USB3 to a late-2012 iMac OSX 10.8.5. 4GB, 3.4GHz i7.
Can't actually make popcorn.
