2 out of 5 eggsSave your money

This review is from: Dell Inspiron15 7000 i7559-7512GRY Gaming Laptop 6th Generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.6 GHz) 16 GB Memory 128 GB SSD 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5 15.6" UHD 4K Touch Win 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: Nice 4k resolution....

Cons: Doesn't run games very well. Try to run Far cry 3 and 4 and it shuts the game down before I ever get to first checkpoint, even with graphics turned way down I thought the card was overheating so I created an air conditioned super airflow situation and still it shuts the game down.

- Constantly get the "Display driver has stopped working and has recovered" warning after a long pause of nothing working... this is just while I have one internet page showing.

Other Thoughts: I've only had this thing a month, now I wish I went with a desktop, or if I could just trade up.
Very disappointed!

4 out of 5 eggsdecent laptop with easy access to parts.

This review is from: Dell Inspiron15 7000 i7559-7512GRY Gaming Laptop 6th Generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.6 GHz) 16 GB Memory 128 GB SSD 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5 15.6" UHD 4K Touch Win 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: sleek, light, with decent spec's
One small screw opens up the large back cover of the laptop which will give you access to both hard drives, fans, heatsinks and ram making upgrades and dusting extremely easy.
The touch screen is a nice added feature.
You can use the Blue tooth feature for other wireless devices.

Best bang for the buck compared to other laptops of this caliber. Most other laptops have either a 960 2gb or a 950 with 4gb or they are loading them with the Intel I7 5gen processor or 4th gen processor for the same or similar price.

The power brick is light and i really like having the rubber strap to tie down the battery cable when it's wrapped up in my backpack. On the sony it was velcro which always seemed to attrack link and became nonfunctional shortly after i would clean it.

The power cable has a lot of insulation and doesn't feel cheap compared to other manufacturers.

Cons: Feels flimsy,
The 4k screen makes images almost unreadable on a 15.6 inch screen. I needed to bring down the resolution to 1080 so i could read everything.
The the Matte Grey Case is a Finger print magnet.
. It looks like dell could have put a slightly larger screen in the laptop, but that would also add more weight and drive up the price.
The monitor is not that impressive.

I had a Sony Gaming laptop from 2011 which had a bad Nvidia 540m card in it, but the monitor had a better picture than this , but it was also 3lb's heavier than this
Oh the battery in built inside the laptop, but with just one screw, you can access the back panel and remove the battery instead of the battery being external.

I'm only knocking it one star due to the amount of cons, but i find all of these issues are things that i can live with until i purchase a new laptop.

Other Thoughts: If i could go back i would have bought the base model with 8 gb of ram and one hard drive for $870 and just upgraded the ram and installed two SSD drives instead of having 128gb ssd and a 1tb 5400rpm drive which i will be removing and replacing with two Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD drives.I would have spent the same amount of money now i am paying more for the upgrades, but that's my fault. Other than that the laptop plays most games i can throw at it. i have had it for a few weeks and it seems to be fairly reliable so far. My pro's out weigh the cons.
If i wanted a gaming computer then i would just build a desktop but i needed a reliable reasonably priced laptop for school that offered the best bang for the buck.
This does offer only one headphone jack but when you plug in your head phones the audio software will ask you if you are using it for line in, microphone, headphones, headphone micro combo, or line out. So you are not very restricted when it comes to accessories.

I have not needed tech support since i have only used this laptop for 2 weeks thus far. It does have a sub woofer inside the laptop, but since i do most of my school work in the library i have really turn up the volume and when i do i usually plug in headphones, plus since it has bluetooth i can connect it wirelessly to my onkyo receiver for louder music.

the power brick

4 out of 5 eggsSeems great so far except a couple things

This review is from: Dell Inspiron15 7000 i7559-7512GRY Gaming Laptop 6th Generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.6 GHz) 16 GB Memory 128 GB SSD 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4 GB GDDR5 15.6" UHD 4K Touch Win 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: Gorgeous screen

Cons: No microphone input! - Thats right, you won't be able to plug in your headset for gaming. It only has a headset input. This means the only Mic you can use for skype or other games is the built in Mic unless you use USB based Mic of some sort.

Other Thoughts: Because of its 4K resolution monitor(3840 X 2160) some things may be incompatible such as one of my favorite games, League of Legends. The Text is enlarged, overlapping and unreadable despite scaling down the resolution or item and text size settings.
