Pros: Great memory

Cons: Height, could possibly be a real tight squeeze if putting into anything other than a full ATX tower

5 out of 5 eggsImpeccable

Pros: This memory is very solid. I've always had good experience with Kingston memory. XMP profile, plenty fast, and no reliability problems.

I saved money finding these on sale for cheaper than any other big brand at the time.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The quality of manufacture for these is great. They have a solid, easy to handle feel and are very cooperative going in and out of DIMM slots.

5 out of 5 eggsrock solid ram

Pros: Kingston HyperX Ram from my experience has been flawless. Never had one module go bad that I have installed, going back to installs that used DDR1. (to this day I still have stacks of old ones that I saved from scrapped boards that still work) I have used this ram on mostly AMD based MSi, ASUS and Gigabyte motherboards.

Performance is good. WEI windows 7 scores range from 7.4 to 7.7 depending on the board.

Cons: Not the cheapest ram, not the most expensive though. But, buying ram and not having to worry about it being compatible or stability issues is one less headache. Not worthy to take an egg off though.

Other Thoughts: These modules now comes with case stickers. Bonus.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: This is very stable very fast ram for the money you cannot go wrong. Great value and overclocking potential (if your motherboard supports it that is) I have this ram running at 2200 MHz stable with a MSI z87 g45 no problems so far. Was surprised this ram can OC so easily. Is stable to 2200 MHz which exceeded my expectations. Will be getting more... Kingston rules.

Cons: No cons

4 out of 5 eggsDDR3-1600 RAM. Works (better) than advertised

Pros: Motherboard detected it as DDR3-1600 RAM and ran it at 1.5V instead of the 1.65V advertised. Default timings were looser than spec, but ran flawlessly at rated 9-9-9-24 1T timings@1.5V with manual settings. No tall headspreaders = universal compatibility.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall Great

Pros: Overall great RAM. As always from Kingston, its just plug and play. Great price, looks nice with the black PCB, and black heat spreader.

No flashy bling stuff, just plain old ram that works well.

Cons: None.

For those that like all that animation, flashy, multi colored ram, this is not what you want.

Other Thoughts: Have been using Kingston for years, and other brands as well. Chose this over price, and because I know their support is great should anything go wrong.

Pros: Low profile, nice look.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: - No frills

- Classic look

- Works great.

Cons: - Physically tough to install. Fingers hurt afterwards.

Other Thoughts: It's great RAM no doubt. Asus M5A97 recognized it as 1.65 1600 RAM right away, no BIOS tweaking needed. Love the classic looks, no crazy heat sinks here. Can't say much more other than I'm pleased!

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic RAM!

Pros: • Two sleek sticks to fit under most large aftermarket heatsinks.

• No heating issues whatsoever.

• Drop in and you're done. Most motherboard nowadays are A1 B1 A2 B2 so installation was a breeze with this RAM.

• Sturdy. Installing this RAM takes a bit of pressure, but nothing overwhelming. It's an assuring amount of force that you won't have any issues with it.

• Nice chrome design with no overblown marketing. Lately the trend has been to add plastic onto GPUs, RAM< etc just for the sake of marketing. You get none of that here.

• Works with most motherboards. I've had this kit for more than a year now, and it has worked across three different boards from the past 6 years.

Cons: • Not a con for me, but this RAM might be a bit tough to install compared to other sticks, depending on who is installing it.

• Motherboards will recognize this RAM running at 1333mhz. It's a simple change in the BIOS to get this running at its true 1600mhz. No voltage changes or anything. And now with the new standard UEFI BIOS, it is easier than ever to set this right .

• Over the past year, RAM has nearly doubled what it was when I got this. When this was purchased, it was $40 for the set. Now it's up to $95 as of 2/20/13.

Other Thoughts: Overall fantastic RAM. Although the price has gotten really high, it's still a good buy right now. No heating issues, no voltage issues, and it installs with confidence. Windows Experience Index Score gives this RAM 7.8 / 7.9. And I haven't OC'd it yet. Definitely worth the purchase!

Please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you. Please be sure to have the part in question on hand when you call.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's RAM. It stores data. This, it does well.

Pros: Nothing special. No giant heat spreaders or other fluff, so would do well in cramped locations especially.

Cons: None noticed.

Other Thoughts: I don't overclock much, just let my motherboard (recently purchased ASUS M5A97) do it's little auto-OC tune and left it at that, so it's very mildly overclocked, with no issues noted so far, been over a week now without concerns.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: i got it for $25, it did at least 12 hours prime95 with no errors, works no problem with my old set of Kingston HyperX 2x2gb and it LOOKS AWESOME.

Cons: it runs at 1333 not 1600 but my AMD 955 only supports 1333 and my old RAM is 1333

but can anyone tell the difference between 1333 and 1600 i certainly can't so please STOP giving RAM bad reviews because of this

Other Thoughts: if i put two computers in front of you and the only difference between them is one has 1333Mhz RAM and the other with 1600Mhz RAM you probably can't tell the difference between them

please spread this message along on all of your RAM reviews

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory

Pros: Does what it is designed for, no problem installing it or anything.
Looks cool, the black and chrome contrast is really nice, along with the Hyper X logo not too flashy.

Cons: Had to change the memory clock frenquency to 1600mhz in the bios, because it'll be recognized as 1333 memory. I knew it before buying it, so it won't cost Kinston an egg... but it should definitly be written somewhere, so people can be advised before buying it. It was pretty easy to change in the uefi bios tho, so it's not that much of a problem.

Other Thoughts: Worth it, I bought it in a 72hrs sale, I'm really happy with what I got!

3 out of 5 eggsFalsely Advertised

Pros: Looks nice. Does what it says.

Cons: This is not 1600 Ram but 1333 RAM. Bios recognizes it as 1333, and CPU-Z says it's PC3 - 10700.

Other Thoughts: Must run @ 1.65 volts, not the more-usual 1.5 volts, but I knew that before my purchase anyhow.

I would just buy some "real" 1600 Ram, not this, especially if you plan on overclocking the ram, as you basically have to overclock this "1333" RAM to get it to run at 1600 anyway.

Pros: Bought 2 of these kits to max out my mobo at 16 GB. Cost effective RAM, both pairs of DIMMs arrived good to go, no DOAs. personally I do not overclock so the lack of a bulky heat spreader does not bother me. Have not had a problem with these and would buy them again if I build another system.

Cons: Shipping was a little slow but not going to knock an egg off the product for that.

5 out of 5 eggs#DIMMSwag

Pros: When I threw it into my system, well all of a sudden I could quickscope without waiting for the map to load in Black Ops 2.

Literally the best ram that was ever ram ever. Might have been better if it had more RAM friends (Only had 8GB YOLO) but whatever my MAC is blazing now.

Planning on buying a second set so we can _Blaze It_ through so many 360s that FaZe would be impressed.

Cons: -Isn't colored red
-No performance overclocking LED display
-No fans came with it

Other Thoughts: Would buy again #swag

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent.

Pros: • Plugged both of them in, went in to the BIOS, and set them to 1600mhz. (Depending on board you may not have to do this.)

• The black matches the inside of my case.

• Very slim, allowing for larger coolers.

Cons: • I can't remember the ALT code for these bullets so I have to go to Wikipedia....?

Other Thoughts: Perfect. Nothing wrong with them. Installed with ease.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat and smooth working memory

Pros: Stylish heatshield that does not block other dimm slots and other components of your computer. Easy to install. Simple but not overly loud design.

Cons: None. This is some good stuff

Other Thoughts: I got this memory on a Newegg Black Friday sale for a great deal and I'm glad I did. I can see why this memory is more expensive than others. This memory rocks. I put it in and it just rocks. Smooth working, no hiccups on my system. No boot up problems with my system. I just turn on my system and my programs appears with no problems.

My system(third build)

1. Gigabyte 990 FXA-UD3 motherboard
2. AMD FX6100 Processor
3. XFX ATI Radeon 4870 video card-Yep still going strong after 3 years. Transferred from my old to my new system. Great money saving move there.
4. Kingston HyperX-Black DDR3 1600 PC12800 memory
5. TP Link ethernet card
6. XFX Brand Pro Core 850 watt power supply 80 pluse bronze.
7. Kingwin SKS-523 silver computer case-Yes, this case has longevity. It is still being used as my third build. Had it for 5+ years and still going strong. They don't make computer cases like this anymore. Too bad it is a discontinued model.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Install: Recognized all 3 sets (2x4gb)

Pros: Works great, I plugged in all 6 sticks I bought (yes I bought 3 sets of 2x4gb) and my MB (Asus P6X58D Premium) recognized all 6 (24gb worth) of them without any problems.
On a side note: the price I paid was cheap so totally worth it! (black friday weekend)

Cons: none at the moment.

Other Thoughts: haven't tried overclocking them but probably won't bother anytime soon + now I have more than enough to start experimenting with making a vram drive :)

5 out of 5 eggsGood Low Profile RAM

Pros: I bought 2 kits for a total of 16GB on a Black Friday sale for a total of $51, so price was excellent. Performance rocks too... (see other thoughts)

Cons: None, all sticks passed memtest and were recognized right away.

Other Thoughts: Price and height of the DIMM were main considerations on an AMD AM3+ Asus board (M5A97). Got what I wanted and they work perfectly. With non-standard voltage of 1.65 on this kit, you will have to manually time and set voltage on your motherboard most of the time. Most profiles use 1.5-1.6 volts and will require adjustment to work correctly.

I have my sets overclocked to 1866MHz using stock voltage and loosened the timings to 10-10-10-30-1T. They are very fast and seems to cool well. Overall, very pleased with the purchase, but other's without overclocking knowledge may want to stay to standard 1.5V RAM to utilize automatic timings and profiles in BIOS.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Performance

Pros: Perfect for my needs. I've always trusted Kingston memory products and this did not let me down. In my application the Win-7 experience index (for memory speed) jumped from 5.9 to 7.6. Wow!

Cons: No cons for the memory, but Newegg now has that horrific "out of stock" notice displayed. I wanted two more of these for my other recent builds. Please, Newegg, restock this excellent memory soon.

5 out of 5 eggsMixes well

Pros: I had a pair of Hyper X Red Blue and got these to add to it for a total of 16GB. Booted right up with Bios set to XMP overclock. Motherboard is ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6. Mixing with these with Hyper X Red Blue working fine.

Cons: Black Friday sale ended

Other Thoughts: Very well made, have a nice heavy feel to them

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Product

Pros: This is some real quality memory, just by holding one of the Dims you can feel it. After setting voltage and timings I have had no issues after hours of gaming and internet browsing. Looks very sexy too to top it all off.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: RAM is RAM is RAM but I really feel because Kingston has been a longtime player in this market you really get the piece of mind of a quality product with a great warranty and high compatibility with most systems.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Fine Memory

Pros: As the first on Newegg to review this memory, I am please to report these modules perform rock solid (under prime95) at their advertised XMP 1600 Mhz timings (9-9-9-27 1T). In fact, I found them to be equally stable (at 1600 MHz), with timings as tight as 8-9-8-24 1T. However, do not construe their code name (or their color) "BLACK" to mean they can be significantly overclocked (as we have come to expect of BLACK edition processors), because this memory's overclockability pales in comparison to the overclockability of Kingston's HyperX Blu memory.

Specifically, my HyperX Blu KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GX modules (which have JEDEC and XMP timing profiles identical to those of these HyperX Black modules) run stably at 1600 MHz, with timings as tight as 7-8-7 -20 1T. And with their timings loosened to 9-10-9-28, they can be stably pushed to nearly 2100 MHz. By contrast, these HyperX Black modules (at timings of 9-10-9-28) struggle to run much faster than 1700 MHz.

Notwithstanding, these HyperX Black modules DO successfully coexist (in the same machine) with my 4GB kit of HyperX Blu modules, making for a total of 12 GB, provided that I do not exceed the aforementioned timing constraints and overclocking limitations of the HyperX Black modules.

Cons: For 8 GBs of rock solid, highly compatible, 1600 MHz Kingston memory, priced at $25, this "Cons" section is a waste of space!

Other Thoughts: The SPD profiles for this memory, as reported by CPU-z 1.54 are as follows:

JEDEC #2 : (533 MHz): 7-7-7-20-27 1T @ 1.5v
JEDEC #3 : (609 MHz) 8-8-8-22-30 1T @ 1.5v
JEDEC #4 : (685 MHz) 9-9-9-27-34 1T @ 1.5v
XMP-1600 : (800 MHz) 9-9-9-27-36 1T @ 1.65v

The extended XMP profile for this memory (as reported by MSI's BIOS Z-Memory utility) is
Clock Cycle: 1T, TCL:9, TRCD:9, TRP:9, TRAS:24, TRC:33, TRFC:107, TWR:10, TWTR:5, TRRD4, TRTP:5 :

Note: With regard to the difference between CPU-Z's and MSI's Z-Memory reporting of TRAS and TRC, I am inclined to go with the values reported by MSI's Z-Memory utility. At any rate, this memory runs fine on my MSI 880GM-E41 AM3 motherboard, with TRAS=24 and TRC=33.
