1 out of 5 eggsGood Price- is it worth it?

This review is from: Kingston 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/8GB

Pros: cheap price for such a large card

Cons: The description "Boasts" high speed class 4----that's nothing to boast about! That is pretty slow but I knew it when I bought it.

Other Thoughts: I used the card in the pc and it worked for a 3gig folder with four files inside. I could read it and write to it but had a hard time deleting the folder for some reason. Even a reformat would not delete the folder but I did delete each file manually. The card will not work for any camera I
I tried it on. I formatted it in NTFS and it still did not work in any of my cameras which are all SDHC ready and call for that form of format. I will return the product for another one--shouldn't have been so quick to buy something so cheap but Newegg has always been good about returning products that don't work. I will do a little more research with the company to see if they can fix it.........

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Garrock,
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. We apologize for the issues experienced with the Class 4 SDHC card. As a Class 4 card it should transfer data at a minimum of 4MB/s and is typically formatted to FAT32. It is best to format the card with the device it is meant to be used, in your case the cameras. If the camera's do not have that functionality, you can use the SD Card Formatter from the SDcard Association (www.sdcard.org). That formatter will format the card to standard specifications. Formatting the card in anyway should erase all data on the card, since it apparently is not there may be an issue with the card itself. We are here to help and can troubleshoot with you further or replace the card if faulty. For assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

2 out of 5 eggsDied 10 months in

This review is from: Kingston 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/8GB

Pros: Decent card, the read/write speeds are in line with Class 4 standards.

Cons: It died after 10 months. This may or may not be the lifespan of the product.. Either way, less than a year of use is unacceptable.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Taylor,
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. We are here to help and can replace the card under it's lifetime warranty. Details on our warranty here: http://www.kingston.com/us/company/warranty#duration . The SD card should have lasted much longer than what you have experienced. Our SD cards and other lifetime warrantied products typically live much longer than they are relevant, usually a decade or more. For further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you. Please be sure to have the part in question on hand when you call.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

5 out of 5 eggsApparently a good product

This review is from: Kingston 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/8GB

Pros: I was looking through my account here and saw that I had purchased this flash card. To be completely honest, I could not remember buying it. After a while I realized it must be the one I bought for my wife's camera.

She has been using her camera almost daily for the last couple years since we bought this. Everything seems great.

I'd highly recommend this, especially for the price.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks only in device

This review is from: Kingston 8GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model SD4/8GB

Pros: - cheap storage

Cons: - the card can only be read in the Zoom H2 and cameras that I have tried it with. Will not work with card readers even with different formating tries.

Other Thoughts: pretty useless to have a USB3 card reader when I have to keep the card in the devices that transfer at UBBER slow speeds.
