5 out of 5 eggsSuper Fast Response

Pros: I can't hear noise coming out of this. Very fast response time. You never need to defrag. Load everything very quick. SSD is the future.

Cons: Capacity, could use little more.

5 out of 5 eggsAll it's cracked up to be......

Pros: I just put this drive in my Dell D820, and I have to say that it's definitely all it's cracked up to be. I started with a T550, 2gb memory and an 80 SATA hdd. Installed this SSD and 4gb of memory and was very very pleased with the results. It cut boot time in half and increased response time incredibly. Worth every penny.

Cons: This SSD was a very tight fit in my existing hdd bay. Had to work at it a bit to get it to fit into the bay.

Other Thoughts: Going to test this SSD for about another week, if my view of it stays the same I will be ordering 4 more of these for each of my practice manager's laptops.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW its fast

Pros: Unbelieveable. I was an SSD deny-er until I tried this particular drive.

Cons: will be even better when the price drops more.

Other Thoughts: Cant wait to try out the Intel one also, but this Samsung is VERY nice. I have a pair speed striped RAID0 in a desktop and I have never seen anything like it. Keeps the i7 CPU busy thats for sure. ;)

5 out of 5 eggsGotta pay to play

Pros: 3 in RAID 0 yields extremely fast transfer speeds. Games such as Mass Effect and Dead Space load up almost instantaneously. Very nice metal enclosures. No problems at all.

Cons: Price, but you gotta pay to play right now. Wait a year and this drive will be half the price ... but I don't wanna wait!

Other Thoughts: Very satisfied with the performance of this drive.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredispeed

Pros: Here we go:

-Speed
-Much less heat than a HDD
-Weight; a very light device
-Reliability (read other thoughts)
-No maintenance as in defragmentating, needed
-Geek factor = 10 out of 10
-Noiseless
-Can survive a 3-story drop (incase you want to do this)

Cons: Price (read other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I have two of these in RAID 0, striped, Vista Home Basic OS. The speed is ludicrous and sick. My purpose for this is the DFD (direct from disc) streaming I do with audio/music programs. 64GB is not a lot of space, you will need extra storage if you plan on filling it up with programs/games and whatnot.

-Reliability Pro: 2,000,000 MTBF means these drives will last 228.31 years. Yes, that is correct.

2,000,000 hours / 24 hours per day / 365 days year = 228.31 hours

-Price Con: Considering what 32GB of storage cost in an HDD the price is hard on the wallet. But if you want the pros... do the math.

5 out of 5 eggsMine worked as stated.

Pros: Happy. Clocked out like stated, I used HD TUNE PRO to measure, everytrhing said what I expected. I get 140+ reads and about 85mb/s writes. I have yet to boot to this device, but I will try and expect no problems. It came partitioned?

Cons: None, price still kinda high, but SSD will take time to get cheaper.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 V-raptors in a RAID0 array, they beat this drive, but I wish I could compare 4 of these in a RAID0 array. I am considering making an array with the raptors mixed with this drive to see what the does... hope I don't blow something up!

5 out of 5 eggsfinally a SSD that delivers!

Pros: Fast. Read AND write. No stuttering. No dying drives. quiet (mine doesn't seem to suffer from the 'squealing' reported by some).

Cons: None to speak of.

Other Thoughts: Previously had a 1st gen samsung SSD which was kinda slowish (in comparison) and a competitor's SSD that had a large mail in rebate. The competitor's unimpressive drive died on me about a week into use. I replaced it with this Samsung and haven't looked back. It's worth the little extra to go with quality. Next up: Intel's SSDs...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have tried other SSDs. This Samsung has the best preformance/price combo I have found. There is a real difference between SLC memory (which the Samsung and other more expensive drives use) and MLC. Write speed is much faster with SLC, and I notice it in real world use.

Cons: Price.

Other Thoughts: I put this SSD in an Asus EeePc 100H (from Newegg) and am very happy with a great little machine for a total of $749 (less what I got when I sold the stock HD I replaced). Did not get the Eee PC 1000, because it only had an 8GB SSD, plus 32GB HCSD (s-l-o-w). Also, the 1000H came with a recovery DVD with Windows XP and all necessary software/drivers that made it easy to load onto the new SSD.

4 out of 5 eggsBest 32GB SATA SLC bang for your buck

Pros: Price compared to other SLC drives
Silent. Increased battery life. Durable. Lighter (if you remove the casing). Faster boot up times. Faster program installations. Just overall faster experience. Makes you proud of your laptop.

Cons: I only get about 80MB/s read. I don't have the software to test the write speeds but im guessing its less than the specs indicate.

Other Thoughts: I don't have the time to send back this unit since I didn't get the correct specs. I understand that even at a slower speed than spec I still get the fastest SLC Sata 2 SSD for the price ($299). Darn should have waited a month. Now its at $259. 64GB SLCshould be down to $499 in about 6 months especially when Samsung releases their cheaper MLC drives. I've owned Samsung PATA first generation SSD's and have enjoyed those on my various PC's. needed a SATA to fit into my HP TX2000 Tablet PC. Didn't play nice with my Tablet at first. Long boot up times or drive wasn't recognized. Made some adjustments in the SATA controller and now everything is running smoothly.

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems

Pros: No problems yet... nice and fast Vista shows this drive as 5.9 in the "Disk data transfer rate" category (which is the highest)

Cons: Expensive... other manufactures are offering lower prices
