1 out of 5 eggs6 Month Life

This review is from: SAMSUNG Pro 64GB microSDXC Flash Card Model MB-MGCGB/AM

Pros: When it worked, it was great. Compatible with my Dell Laptop, all my card readers, my Samsung Galaxy note 2 & 3, my desktop & Sony car stereo

Cons: Well, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was picky and would only work reliably with a Samsung SD card. When I bought my Note 3, keeping with tradition, I stuck with Samsung and bought this 64GB SD card. Unfortunately the SD card burned-out after like 6 months (average use... storage for my phone's camera pictures & videos, work documents etc.) I think I'll try another brand, such a waste of a LOT of money.

Other Thoughts: This is the first SD card that I've had 'burn out'. I've used G-skill, no-name brands, Sandisk, Nokia, I have MicroSD cards from 2003 that are still operational!

1 out of 5 eggsDied at 14 months

This review is from: SAMSUNG Pro 64GB microSDXC Flash Card Model MB-MGCGB/AM

Pros: Samsung brand, worked well for a little over a year.

Cons: 14 months was disappointing for this card. I bought Samsung brand for the quality.

Other Thoughts: I shouldn't have to replace my phone memory card every year.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke in half after a year

This review is from: SAMSUNG Pro 64GB microSDXC Flash Card Model MB-MGCGB/AM

Pros: Great capacity, and works fine when not broken.

Cons: Card worked fine for about a year and few months. In my Samsung S5, while taking pictures, camera indicated an error occurred, then phone indicated to remove the SD card. I open the cover to remove card, and find that the card is broken in half. All data gone.

Worst yet, I called Samsung support, there is no option to get to Memory devices, so it is a nightmare to find where to go, once I got to a support person, he said I broke the card? After explaining the situation, no progress, I asked to talk to a manger. That was another 45 min of wait. I was disconnected, and gave up. Then these guys called 15 min later, nice I thought, but put me on hold for another 30 min, and finally dropped my call.

Other Thoughts: While I have several Samsung products, have never had to deal with support/warranty, and they are horrible. Will think again before buying Samsung products.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SAMSUNG Pro 64GB microSDXC Flash Card Model MB-MGCGB/AM

Pros: The card worked great in my Samsung Galaxy S4 after having trouble with a Sandisk card. I bought a Samsung card to use in my Samsung phone thinking there should be no compatibility issues.

Cons: After 6 months of trouble free use, the card suddenly refused to write any data. My data was retrievable, I just couldn't write to it. I tried formatting it in various card readers, mp3 players and phones, including using Linux and dd to try and wipe it. No go.

Contacted Samsung as product is advertised as having a 5 year warranty and was informed that MicroSD cards do not have any warranty and I would be required to purchase my own replacement or go back to Newegg for a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the one you're looking for!

This review is from: SAMSUNG Pro 64GB microSDXC Flash Card Model MB-MGCGB/AM

Pros: Flawless operation out of the package, no errors or hiccups

Cons: None so far... Perhaps the price point (but it's well worth it!)

Other Thoughts: I have this paired with my Motorola Razr M phone, and I had first purchased a Sandisk 64GB Ultra... I constantly (and at the worst possible times) would get the "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" error... seemingly whenever it wanted to, it would simply stop accessing or noticing the card. (Sandisk is a decent brand, but apparently some of the early revisions of the cards have compatibility issues). I've seen that Samsung phone users have similar issues with 64GB+ cards...

I saw several reviews of these Samsung microSD cards, and I figured that at least I would know if it was the card that was my problem, or the phone (I'm due for a phone upgrade anyway). Sure enough, it was the card!

I simply popped in the Samsung microSD card, let the phone format it, copied files to it with my PC's card reader. Done. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and not once have I had an error, or the "SD Unexpectedly Removed" issue. It simply works, and seems to read/write quickly to boot.

Before the switch to this card, it would happen about once a day, or more. My phone is now useful to me again!

If you have a device that does support the 64GB cards, but are having the same issues, you might want to consider that it's the card, and thy this one.
