2 out of 5 eggsBe wary of this one

Pros: Good disk while it lasted

Cons: Died on me after 10 months.

Other Thoughts: Died on me about 2 weeks ago. I'm glad I work on an external disk, if I depended on this one I would have lost all my work in the past 8-10 months!

5 out of 5 eggsfast, fast, fast!

Pros: i only use M4 SSD's, and this one is right on par. Super fast. I've had more than a year of service without issues on my last M4.

Cons: i'm going to be a bit nit picky here, but my case requires the SSD be mounted via the bottom screw positions. when mounted this way, theres barely enough room for the sata+power cable to be attached, i needed to bend the bracket a bit to allow the plugs to fit in. could use a bit more plastic on the bottom. this is the first installation that had this issue. i'd rather attribute it to the case, rather than the SSD

Other Thoughts: i'll continue to use M4 SSD's in all my installs. i've had such success, theres no reason i should try any others :)

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Drives

Pros: I have owned 1 of these for over 6 months and have never even seen it hiccup. It still performs as fast as it did the day I got it.

I recently added a 2nd one when they went on sale and use it in RAID-0 on an x79 board with updated bios to allow TRIM support. The performance is incredible. Any and every program loads in the blink of an eye.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: These cards are so solid that i have no worries about them in RAID-0.

1 out of 5 eggsMight be a good drive, are you willing to risk it?

Pros: Has operated quite well since I bought it.

Cons: Might be like the C300 and stop working with no warning, causing you to lose all un-backed-up data.
Then crucial tech support will tell you to basically power cycle the drive hoping for magic and when magic doesn't happen, they ignore any further communication and your requests for a command line switch for dosmcli.exe to allow you to bypass the version check and reflash the drive.

Other Thoughts: There might not be anything wrong with this drive, but are you willing to risk it?
Crucial apparently won't tell you if one of their drive series has massive widespread firmware problems, so why take a chance?
Buy from a manufacturer that tests and repairs the firmware and controllers they're selling to you.

5 out of 5 eggsanother good review....

Pros: Keeps my temps low I suppose.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have nothing to compare this to as the CPU i used it on was new. <60c on an i5 3570 oc'd to 4.2 with a hyper 212+.

5 out of 5 eggssweet board and sweeter deal....

Pros: This board has a ton of features in the bios. Bolted it up with an I53570k and now I'm blazin through games like nothin.

Cons: Only cons are the size as mentioned before. It's 12x8.8 and doesn't reach that last set of stand offs in the case. Not a big deal at all just have to be careful when plugging the 24 pin in. The other "con" was I had trouble with my USB mouse and keyboard working at first. Had to use a ps2 KB and mouse to install drivers in order for USB to work right. Fixed it up and now it's fine.

Other Thoughts: I got this bundled with an i5-3570k for 295 and couldn't be happier with it. Better than my gigabyte board I'm getting rid of. It was between this and an ASUS and so far so good. And this was 5 bucks cheaper. Best bang for the buck board hands down.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm in the bandwagon.!.!.!

Pros: Running at 4.2 right now with temps under 60c. Using the hyper 212+. That's just where I stopped for now I'm certain I can go higher.

Cons: Ya right...

Other Thoughts: I had an AMD 955 that ran good. I got a new mobo and started having trouble with my build. Thought it was the 955 maybe just finally giving out. Picked up a fx 8350 and still had some issues but I didn't like that proc anyway. Was too hot and just weird anyways. Glad I got this now. After all that trouble I may never go back to amd.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial SSD

Pros: m4 256gb SSD by Crucial arrived with firmware 040H installed. SSD was purchased on 3-04-13 from Newegg. Clean install using windows 8 w/o any problems. This SSD is working 100%, and is fast at everything. Firmware update 070h on 04-04-13 no problem. A+ so far!

Cons: SSD are still too pricey.

Other Thoughts: I am aware of the past SSD issues and hope these issues remain in the past. More positive results = more sales= lower prices.

2 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Fast, big, and quiet.

Cons: Lasted less than a year before I started getting frequent BSODs in Win7. The problem was similar to what others reported wherein I'd have to reset two or three times to get Windows to recognize the drive to boot from it. It seemed to happen when the drive was under heavy load.

I'd hoped that using the latest firmware would help but it has not. I finally cloned the partitions off and removed the drive. I'm not impressed with the quality of this product. Next time I'll spend the extra money for a better brand like Intel.
