5 out of 5 eggsFantastic drive

Pros: Super fast and reliable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've owned this drive since mid July of 2012 and have had no errors on the drive what so ever. It has been fantastic and would definitely buy another if needed.

5 out of 5 eggsSecond review

Pros: Same as the first: way faster than HHD that were in my MBP before. After second try for the firmware update, it went well.

Cons: Price High.. but for the performance, it's not really a con.

Other Thoughts: happy with the overall!

5 out of 5 eggs#1 Experience

Pros: Reliable, fast / efficient and stable under the initial firmware, this SSD had improved my user experience, whether initially under Windows and now on a MacBook Pro, I saw the change overnight: loading speed :really fast, reliable, contrary to some reviews I had seen before. I am really satisfied with this product and although it is [really...] expensive, I highly recommend it for those who are tired of waiting on a loading bar.

Cons: - The price kind of high..
- Already tried to update the firmware on it : It was stable before the update .. after I had to downgrade the firmware because it wasn't possible to use it : freeze, restart, BlueScreen on Windows.. etc. (Will try again the new update..)

Other Thoughts: Worked well with either Windows, Mac, and Linux

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: Absolutely amazing! Computer went from 1 min cold boot to 20 seconds with everything loaded ie: Anti-virus, bloot tooth, gadgets, wifi, etc. Running Windows 7 Ultimate on Lenovo X230T

Cons: Price per GB but what can you do...
I wanted a 1TB but 7MM has its limitations!

2 out of 5 eggsGood at First....

Pros: Fast, quick boots, quick installs

Cons: unreliable, errors, drive failed

Other Thoughts: This drive worked well the first two months. I recently started getting error messages and BSOD's. TRIM was enabled, and the drive still became horribly slow. Crucial will replace, but I still have to pay for shipping and lose some of the data I can't recover. Hopefully the 2nd drive will last!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, price is also good.

Pros: First SSD I have have owned, so I can only compare to a regular HD. Much much faster. Total boot went from around a minute and a half to about 20 Seconds. My current MOBO only supports SATA II, so I figure I should see another speed bump once I upgrade my system. It was about the cheapest I could find for 512 GB at the time, but I have no complaints. Came with latest firmware, which was clearly marked on the drive.

Cons: Since this I got this, there are a few other drives that have dropped to a lower price from other vendors for the same capacity. It is middle of the road as far as IOPS.

Other Thoughts: SSDs in general are well worth the upgrade price, and even though my system does not fully support what the drive can do, it made a huge difference in boot times, load times in gaming, and other day to day tasks. Get one.

3 out of 5 eggsFaster but Not Sufficiently Reliable

Pros: Fast boot time.
With the original mechanical drive, my Samsung NP-RF711 notebook would take quite a few minutes to boot up. The icons in the systray would not be ready form quite some time. With this SSD drive, they are ready in 10 seconds.

Cons: Reliability is a serious concern.
I had to get an exchange from New Egg on the first one (thanks for the easy, fast exchange). It started to have corrupted files after two weeks. Occasionally it would disappear from the BIOS drive list, and the machine would boot to a "No OS, press Ctrl+Alt+Del" message.
I updated it to the latest firmware of version "000F", and the problems persisted.
On the second drive, I no longer get file corruption, of course, but the occasional "No OS, press Ctrl+Alt+Del" message problem is still there. Updating it to the latest firmware of version "000F" did not help. The machine sees all other drives when this happens. The machine itself has the latest BIOS as well. To fix this, I have to unplug the power and remove the battery. Once the battery is reattached, and the power is reconnected, the drive shows up again and everything works, for awhile.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome drive

Pros: Awesome performance - reads measures at 503.61 MB/sec for me, so as advertised. Fits great in my lenovo x230t (which needs this thinner 7mm form factor).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers reported some issues going into sleep and the drive periodically dissapearing. I regularly put my laptop into sleep and it always wakes up just fine, and I've never had a problem with "dissapearing". This is my second Crucial drive (first one is still kicking strong in my desktop for 2 years, on essentially 24/7), and so far they're rock solid and fast as hell.
