2 out of 5 eggspathetic.

Pros: It's an SSD\

Cons: I bought this to replace my old SSD which died, and this one is only capable of a 5.9 rating. The same speed as almost all terabyte hdds.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted 9 Months

Pros: Easy Laptop Install Kit made it easy to transfer my data from my old HD.

Cons: Read/Write errors after 9 months, machine won't boot. My machine was no faster from the 10K RPM Raptor HD that I replaced it with. I bought a different manufacturer SSD this weekend after this one failed, and my machine boots and responds twice as fast as the V4. I don't even know why this product is on the market, not any faster than a standard HD and fails after not even a year of ownership.

Other Thoughts: Crucial needs to stick to memory and leave SSD's alone.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not purchase this item!

Pros: At first, some.

Cons: After less than 9 months of use, the drive is almost completely unusable. I am in the process of trying to recover data because I didn't think an SSD would need to be backed up so regularly. Only a few months in and the drive would constantly crash, run extremely sluggishly, and now won't even boot up properly. The data is there, but I'm having a very difficult time downloading it into a separate drive.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, I can't believe I paid money for this terrible drive. I will attempt to return it or exchange it for a different drive because it is under warranty. Crucial is known for having great products, but this is certainly a flop. I would never buy another one of these and is a terrible step for SSD technology.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in 6 months

Pros: Faster than a 5400 rpm hard disk.

Cons: Dead in 6 months - could not recover any data from this drive. Could not read from drive. Have other disks backed up.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks.

Pros: Works fast, instantly improved my laptop. Came with a data transfer kit and everything. Do your research crucial is one the best brands for an SSD, it might be slower in speeds but it's more reliable.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsNot what I hoped for

Pros: works. windows loads faster than the old 5400rpm drive. increased battery life to over 4hrs on my old Sony Vaio with an Athlon II 2.1Ghz and new Samsung 1.35v ram.

Cons: after windows loads it seems that most applications and services hang for a few seconds, which makes the overall experience feel slower than the old HDD. i was hoping for a snappy interface like the SSD in my desktop gave me, but that's on a sata3 port.

Other Thoughts: the included cloning software worked great. i had ordered recovery discs from Sony and found out they do not allow a fresh install of windows, which would have been ideal. so maybe the sluggishness is coming from the dirty old install of windows but i can't be sure.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade for older high performance systems

Pros: Cost effective upgrade to older but still viable high performance systems with SATA II interfaces. I picked up a pair of Lenovo ThinkPad T510's for about 20% of original retail. $100 of SSD later they are still solid, high performance Windows 7 workstations, at disposable prices.

Cons: With Windows 7 - none. I wouldn't bother to upgrade an XP machine at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Disk performance has been the limiting factor for overall performance for quite some time. The T510's scored a 6.8 on processor and 7.2 on disk after installing these drives - that's a very decent score and we should get another couple of useful years out of these systems.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Slow. Not Happy.

Pros: None that I encountered.

Cons: This drive is slow. I configured everything as told to by crucial support and still my read write speeds were nowhere near what they should have been. As this drive is a no-return model I would be very weary of purchasing it.

Used it with Windows 7 and Mac 10.8. Both were slow, and would lag for 5-10 seconds at a time.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy.
