1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this drive!!!

Pros: Made by Intel

Cons: Randomly freezes for 50-90 secs. No solution in any forum or firmware update. TRIED THEM ALL.....

Other Thoughts: I purchased this drive because of the Overall Rating on newegg. Big Mistake.

1 out of 5 eggsNow Dead :-(

Pros: This device worked well initially.

Cons: I have had this unit just over a year. Now it will make a decent paperweight or coaster.

1 out of 5 eggsLost all Data

Pros: Fast initially, than slowed down (should have been my clue)

Cons: Unable for Windows or Linux to recognize ( trial in three systems)

Other Thoughts: Had been using Crucial SSD without problems for years. Thought that Brand Name Intel might be better. WRONG. Used lightly for 20 months since Jan 2012 in Dell Netbook.

1 out of 5 eggsBricked by the 8MB bug

Pros: none

Cons: This drive is garbage, don't buy it. One crash or power loss and the drive is permanently bricked.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Failure Rate Avoid This Drive

Pros: It works as advertized until it randomly bricks itself.

Cons: Repeatedly bricks itself due to firmware glitches and turns into a 8MB brick. You can google "intel ssd 8mb" and read all the posts.

Intel doesn't provide any support, they ask you to secure-erase your drive to restore functionality. Of course that implies loss of ALL information on the drive.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this drive and any 320 series if you want reliable storage.

1 out of 5 eggsDies in 6 months - 8MB, BAD_CTX 00000130

Pros: Fast

Cons: Dies after 6 months of average usage.
BAD_CTX 00000130. All the data is completely lost.
Latest firmware, good power supply, etc..

The only good thing - returned this to Intel and they've sent me complete refund of the original purchase price.

Once again - never trust anyone. Including Intel...

1 out of 5 eggs8MB Brick after 6 months

Pros: Fairly fast when new. Intel brand.

Cons: Intel 320 Series SSDs Affected by Firmware Bug That Causes Data Loss.
These SSDs drop in capacity to just 8MB and lose all the data that is stored on them.
Intel knows of this problem. Intel Utility Toolbox is useless to help after this failure.
Not worthy of even 1 egg.

Other Thoughts: When a rotating drive fails, you have a good chance of getting much of your data off the drive.
When an SSD fails, you can kiss it goodbye.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this SSD!

Pros: Intel name and expected QA... until now.

Cons: Reliability! BAD_CTX 00000130 bug.

This destroy all your data instantly.

There is a way to recover the data but the procedure is not public.

Intel is not very helpfull to recover the drive and the data when this happen. Very disappointed to have paid a premium for average quality and service.

Intel toolbox was useless for the secure erase.

I used Ubuntu linux with hdparm to recover the drive (not the data) as the recovery wipes everything.

/dev/sda is my ssd in here:
sudo hdparm -I /dev/sda
sudo hdparm --user-master u --security-set-pass pwd /dev/sda
sudo hdparm -I /dev/X
sudo time hdparm --user-master u --security-erase pwd /dev/sda

Other Thoughts: I have many OCZ (vertex, Agilyity 3) and Corsair Force drives. All off them are running for months in daily use.
One of the refurbished Corsair force (sandforce based) was crashing and needed an enhanced erase. This fixed the drive. All data was readable so nothing was lost.

1 out of 5 eggsBad experience with Intel 320 120GB + Snow Leopard

Pros: Unfortunately, none.

Cons: I had problems installing Snow Leopard on my Intel 320 120GB. First time: super slow. Second time it went fine, but with many Kernel Panics. Tried for the 3rd time and now it's impossible to install Snow Leopard again. It says it can copy the files. I used different medias, different DVD drives.. Apparently I have a faulty unity. :(

Other Thoughts: They say it is a very reliable SSD. They say it is fast. Well, I had problems and my benchmarks weren't that good. Friend of mine just got a Kingston SSDNow V100 128GB and the benchmarks results were MUCH better than the Intel 320. And it's cheaper.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed

Pros: Pretty fast. Looks neat, though it is not finished as well as in the pictures. Light. Sips battery.

Cons: Failed after 7 months of extremely light use in a laptop I leave at my girlfriends house so I can browse once in a while.
SSD probably got 24-48 hours of power on time before it failed miserably due to the 8mb partition bug. NOTE : THIS HAPPENED MONTHS *AFTER* UPDATING TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE THAT FIXES THIS ISSUE.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy
