1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: Its retractable and that about it

Cons: Its as slow as dial-up internet. Starts off writing around 14 MByte/s for about a second then tapers off to 1-3 MByte/s. this is unacceptable. Then I tried to erase a movie and it said its write protected. also won't let me reformat because its write protected. Going back to Transcend drives. I got two of them and never had any problems!

Other Thoughts: Junk product. Couldn't give less than 1 egg! I will never buy Sandisk again.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks.. But loose fitting

Pros: It's a solid piece of equipment. Meaning it does what it should.

Cons: The latch to hold the connector out is very weak. I don't know if it was just a fluke for mine, but after 2 or 3 inserts, I had to hold the connection slider every time I put it in whereas other USB drives that I had click into place and I'm able to push it in with one hand (not so with this one).

3 out of 5 eggssluggish although formatted NTFS

Pros: construction is more sturdy than the two other SanDisk I own, had the same capacity as before even after it was formatted NTFS, holds a lot, good price

Cons: SLOW! to write, slow to read, and therefore slow to mount. It took two and a half hours to fill it using a USB 2.0 port (to be fair, it was lots of tiny files ... the most demanding of any kind for any drive).

Other Thoughts: I bought this to archive important files and so once I filled it I stuck it into a safety deposit box. Good thing, this would drive me nuts if I had to use it day in and day out.

1 out of 5 eggsExpecting U3 as advertized

Pros: It seems fine for basic flash drive needs

Cons: I purchased it specifically because it made the claim of U3 technology. But it didn't have U3 installed on it, and even the SanDisk software can't install it.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: has reasonably strong key-ring hole and no loose cap to lose

Cons: It repeatedly fails to install. I returned it, the new one is no better. It only maps about 28GB when it works at all. it just caused another error. It came with a lot of junk that needed to be deleted. I will throw it away. I am on Win XP SP2

Other Thoughts: Newegg has sold me a lot of garbage lately. They used to be a favorite.

1 out of 5 eggsS L O W

Pros: Large Capacity

Cons: This thing is painfully slow. I'm not just talking about transferring huge amounts of data at once. It is slow by any standard. As a matter of fact, I find that many small files make it much slower. Granted, you can't take windows status window to seriously, but I have hit speeds as low as 56k/Sec. This thing is painful to use. Sorry, but Sandisk blew it with this one.

Other Thoughts: The person that called this thing 'quick' must be one some good meds...

5 out of 5 eggsI would buy SanDisk anytime!

Pros: Indestructible! I don't own this particular flash drive yet. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it however. I've owned an old 1GB SanDisk Cruzer since 2005. The conditions in which I've used it were horrendous. I spent 4 years in Iraq as a mechanic. We all wore our thumb drives on a lanyard around our necks. Once, I was slimed with about 10 gallons of 10 weight oil from a transfer case. My SanDisk Cruzer was thoroughly saturated with the oil. I thought it was toast... I wiped it off as best as I could, then after work I dropped it into a coffee cup full of isopropyl alcohol, repeatedly opened and closed it, then let it soak overnight. The next morning I pulled it out, dried it as best I could, left it in the open position and hung it up to drip dry for about a week. When I determined that it was dry, I plugged it into a computer and VOILA! It still worked! None of my data or pics were lost or corrupted. Maybe I just got lucky or maybe SanDisk makes a good solid product. In my opinion, good!

Cons: The cruddy U3 software! Ugh! I hate it! Thanks to a previous reviewer, I can now remove this blight from my thumb drive!

Other Thoughts: Honestly, if my old 1GB SanDisk Cruzer could survive and perform flawlessly under the conditions described above, this brand obviously makes a good quality, solid, dependable product.

More other thoughts: My old Cruzer still seeps a little 10 weight oil from time to time... I just wipe it off and continue with whatever I was doing. :)

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Speed. Its a nice drive. Compact size.

Cons: The design. Used to the design of the cruzier mini. Also if you put a key chain location to add to a key chain, at least add the metal ring to do so.

Other Thoughts: Many complain about speed. Think about it, copying over 20+ GB of data or whatever WILL take time no matter to what device you use. I copied over 7+ GB worth of data and it copied in reasonable amount of time.

1 out of 5 eggsDHL Blows

Pros: Good price

Cons: Still don't have it, ordered 6 days ago and it's not even saying where it is on the tracking. I have never had a good experience with DHL and this is the first order I have placed with Newegg using DHL but should have known better. Used to order a ton with my business acct and was always thrilled with the shipping, not this time.
