2 out of 5 eggsBought two one died in less than 3 months

Pros: Only pro is the size of the device

Cons: Bought two and one dies in less than 3 months. I would have used this device at most 4-5 times. Contacted SanDisk for RMA they say they will replace it and then dont create a return. You have to talk to them on chat for like 4 hours before anything happens.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The drive works perfect. Small and light weight.

Cons: The USB tip could have been more solid. It is made of plastic.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great product.

4 out of 5 eggsVery disposable

Pros: Price and size; it's one of the cheapest 4Gb thumb drives I've seen on NewEgg, yet still a "name brand" of flash memory. It's pretty small and incredibly light too (the whole thing is about an inch long).

Cons: Cheap plastic, useless software (it's best to just wipe the drive and pretend they didn't try to add the encryption bell & whistle). When you push the red bit out to expose the usb connector, it doesn't really click in place well, so you have to grip it by the red part when plugging it in. Also, the connector on the end is missing the bit of plastic opposite the contact pins; eg from the profile it looks U-shaped instead of a full rectangle. It was a bit odd to see, but doesn't really change the functionality. Overall, it seems a bit like the type of thumb drive you'd give a kid (well, one old enough not to try to choke on it).

Other Thoughts: I'm using a handfull of them as FreeNAS boot drives, so once they're plugged in to the PC's, they'll be staying there forever more. You might be interested in these you're ok with treating them like fancy burnable CDs; that is something to be thrown in a desk or given away, not something to carry around with you on your keychain (I wouldn't trust the plastic not break).

1 out of 5 eggsBeware! Not worth the money!

Pros: Small

Cons: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap plastic. Don't put it in your pocket or on your key chain. The plastic will bend and break off. It doesn't even have a metal end to insert into the usb port on your device. Even that is plastic. The software that is embeded on the device is also very poor. Don't waste your money. I will look for a more sturdy and better made thumb drive.

2 out of 5 eggsUtter Weaksauce

Pros: Small form factor, nice slide design-slides out and in smoothly and easily, sleek look, decent price.

Cons: Calling this an encryption model seems to me like complete false advertising. The drive only came with some very weak "Club Sandisk" software preloaded on it. Basically it is a launcher designed to make you download advertising-oriented trial bloatware like the McAfree that comes preloaded on laptops. Thats all it does. Furthermore the autorun.inf for this software is likely to be blocked by any modern antivirus - why even put it on their at all? There is nothing encryption related about this flash drive, and thus i feel as if I have been lured to buy something under a false pretense. This should be called Bloatware model. No instructions or documentation came with the device save the packaging (albeit typical for usb drives)

Other Thoughts: All in all, the drive does seem decent and I will keep it. Perhaps there is a free program out there (cough..Truecrypt) that will let me encrypt this drive and use it for the original purpose I intended.

Last time I trust a Sandisk product promising some sort of software-type benefit. Decent flash memory, but they do not seem capable of doing software well. Even their mp3 players like the compact Sansa clip plus series playback music slower and out of tune due to poor execution with the device's OS. Will still by their flash memory though since nothing has failed me yet. Time to reformat this drive and hope it lasts as long as the cruzer micro that has lived in my wallet for 2 years now.
