Quiet and Energy-Efficient

The SanDisk Extreme SSD has no spinning platters, so it stays cool and quiet during use and draws less power than a traditional 7,200 RPM hard drive**. This saves energy costs and prolongs laptop battery life, so you can work longer.

System Requirements and Warranty Information

1 out of 5 eggsFailed

Pros: Fast under 20 second boot time.

Cons: Failed in 3 months lost all it marbles it now only recognizes 99 MB. Bought a second one it is now giving me fits. I am going to remove it from the laptop it is in and see if it is the problem. I have tried to get SanDisk to replace it but have had little luck.

4 out of 5 eggsGood performance for the price

Pros: It is not the fastest performing SSD in its generation, but is not bad either. I would say it is middle-of-the-road compared to other brands of SSD I own from the same generation. Yes there are models with better performance, but at a much higher price. Still blows away a spinning disk.

Cons: It is a bit larger than some other brands SSDs, it is full 2.5" HDD sized device. Might make it tricky to squeeze into some laptops or enclosures.

Other Thoughts: Came with the latest firmware R211 already installed, no problems whatsoever so far. Windows 7 system performance score of 7.4 for the SSD.

2 out of 5 eggsDECENT WHILE IT LASTED

Pros: DECENT DRIVE PRETTYGOOD FOR 6 MONTHS OR SO...THEN RANDOM PROBLEMS THEN TOTAL FAILURE.

Cons: DEAD NOW- ONLY USED FOR 10 MONTHS NOW DEAD. THANKFULLY I HAD ONLY WINDOWSON THIS OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN PRETTY TICKED OFF.

Other Thoughts: NO REAL WARRANTY- SEEMS SSD'S ARE SHORT LIVED OR AT LEAST THE ONES FROM SANDISK ARE!!! BUYER BEWARE.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good

Pros: I've been running two in RAID-0 for about 4 months. No problems

Cons: I do not get 2x speed as advertised, however its is close. I'm testing with the AS SSD benchmark tool.

Other Thoughts: Remember to update your chipset and system drivers to the latest versions. Base Win8 drivers gave me 1/2 speed. I had to manually update the Storage Controller AMD drivers - the latest AMD RAID installer does not always update the Storage Controller.
Also check for Sandisk firmware updates, there hasn't been one for this model in a long time. (latest firm ver R211, released 10/2012)

4 out of 5 eggsGood SSD for the price

Pros: Price, performance, ease of installation

Cons: included software is pretty weak, no functionality to enhance performance. Only allows firmware updating.

Other Thoughts: Got this drive for a laptop to speed it up. Works great for that purpose. Easy to install and the price was great.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat first SSD buy for me!

Pros: This was the first SSD I purchased for $90 and put into a new rig I put together. It's very fast, boots in seconds and I have had no issues with it yet in the past 8 months or so.

Cons: Cheap packaging. No sata cables or mounting bracket.

Other Thoughts: Scored 7.9 on WEI. Love the SSD Toolkit which I use to check for firmware updates.

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive

Pros: Fast, easy to use. I've had mine for about 6 months now. I can boot windows in under 10 seconds and my overall performance is great.

Cons: I don't seem to get the full 120GB out of it.

Other Thoughts: While this is a reliable and quick drive, I'm not blown away by any means. I'm busy looking for more storage (120-256GB) and I'm looking elsewhere than Sandisk.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete trash

Pros: cheap.... kinda.

Cons: upon installing a drive health program by iolo, the computer blue screened on me, then when I rebooted I got "no operating system found." that was all I had to see, especially considering it was the only program that didn't come with Windows 8 I had installed. Complete trash, I'm going back to OCz...

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well for the money.

Pros: I have to say for the money I couldn't have asked for a whole lot more. Its run really well for the 5 months I've had it with no problems to speak of.

Cons: Could be a bit faster, but if you are upgrading from a normal HD you will love the difference regardless.
