3 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted!

Pros: Fast

Cons: Quiet death.

Other Thoughts: Lasted 44 months, then just died one afternoon. No warning, no problems, nothing. I will look to another brand to replace it.

5 out of 5 eggsLasts for years

Pros: This has been my OS drive on my main gaming rig for almost 4 years now, and it's still running great with no issues.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and fast for a good price when on sale

Pros: Sequential read and writes are at the speed advertised. Random also though they are a little slower than other SSDs now. I have had it now two years and use it for editing transferring and editing VHS tapes. Works fine, never have had it hiccup on me. Keeps up with the transfers.

Cons: slower random read and writes, but not that slow.

1 out of 5 eggsfailed after a year

Pros: it was great while it worked.

Cons: This SSD failed after one year of use. The drive would corrupt windows and would no longer be recognized by the mother board. Loading windows on another drive allowed me to run some diagnostics on this one and it was full of memory errors. Wiped, reloaded and ran the drive for about 2 more weeks before running into the exact same problem. I updated all firmware on motherboard and drive, rinse/repeat and same issue returned. Very frustrating.

Out of desperation I went to a competitor's store to pick up a replacement and no issues for the last 6 months.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if this was considered a 1st gen version of the SanDisk SSD technology but I will not be getting a replacement from SanDisk.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased

Pros: Fast, reliable and I couldn't have asked for better performance.

I have since purchased two more of these drives. I use two in RAID 0 in my desktop and one in my laptop.

Cons: Wish they were still available!

Other Thoughts: These are the first and only SSDs I have owned and as I look to upgrade to larger SSDs, I will most certainly consider other Sandisk product offerings

1 out of 5 eggsIf the drive continually needs to be reformatted, it's broken.

Pros: The drive is fast while it works.

Cons: The SSD failed about 6 months after I bought it. I have repeatedly needed to reinstall Windows 7. In the process of repairing my computer, updating the SSD's firmware ands stalling Sandisk's software, I have come to realize Sandisk's warranty center does not care if your hard drive fails repeatedly as long as it works at least temporarilly. Terrible customer service and this unreliable hard drive have cost me too much time. I do not plan to buy from Sandisk ever again. Higher specs are not a better deal if the purchase equipment is unreliable.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

My name is Allen from SanDisk support. I am sorry to hear about your experience. Our SSD provides high performance and has extreme less failure rate. SanDisk stands behind the warranty on its products. We recommend you to please contact SanDisk support at 1-866-SANDISK or submit a support request at www.sandisk.com/support. The manufacturer warranty on brand new products extends beyond the Newegg.com 30 day return period. We will assist you towards a resolution including a possible warranty replacement.

Thank you,
SanDisk Support

1 out of 5 eggsfast.. right into the trash

Pros: was fast.. loved the speed

Cons: died not long into its life.. 6 months maybe... dont care if they will give me a new one .. not worth the trouble.. last time ill waste cash on this brand..
and to the mfg response auto spam .. im not wasting time talking to some guy in india about all the things it can be other than your product that should not have been sold with a failure rate.. so dont spam your phone number im not calling it.. if you care send me a drive.. yeaaa right..

Other Thoughts: when i buy a hard drive i dont want failure rate or return.. i want it to last..

5 out of 5 eggsIt continues to beat

Pros: These days I use it on my hackintosh(10.9.2-Mavericks) install. Boots fast, just experimental for now before it is replaced for a larger drive. Works fine in OSx

Cons: Right now(3/19/2014) it shows $199.99 which is ridiculously high! I got it in 2012 and it was cheaper. There is NO reason why this drive should cost this much in 2014 especially packing 23k IOPS in read? Don't bother.
