Pros: FAST - write ~5MB/s 4kB blocks compared with 0.15MB/s for my Patriot XT 32GB USB 3.0 .
Installed Ubuntu 12.4 (13.4 has issues on mu Dell XPS 17) as native OS. Boots in 12 seconds, excluding BIOS POST time. Fills like having SSD.

Other Thoughts: It is shame that larger Sandisk USB Extreme drives has less than 5 eggs, I'd like to get 64GB but with 50% chance of being bad no way.

Pros: Immediately recognized, very little crapware, no exotic partitioning.

Cons: Real-world tests come in far below advertised speeds; benchmarks come closer, but not by much.

Plastic case is huge; easily the largest thumb drive I own, which includes some nostalgic 256MB novelty drives. It's the biggest thing on my keychain.

Pros: Meets it's advertised performance at 199MB/s read and 60MB/s write, which I consider impressive (not lying, that is). Good random read/write performance for a usb drive, which is very rare: 8MB/s 4k write speed (all other common measurements are faster).

Cons: There is no standard way to reset the drive to factory condition, so performance will likely degrade significantly with use. This is still probably the best drive you can buy value-wise, aside from the same model with larger capacity (higher sequential write speed on that), or a small ata ssd. I looked for such drives before buying this one.

Other Thoughts: I'm testing a brand new drive, and I won't wipe it just to see if it gets slower, because it might get slower. That's what professional reviewers are for. Sequential io will be slower over usb 2, but random io will still be fast, don't worry if you don't have usb 3.

Pros: Very Good so far. It looks like my old SanDisk Cruzer 8 Gb USB 2.0. The ATTO Disk Benchmark Write/Read were 62066/208493 max. with a 256 MB bench file.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this yesterday and got it today with the 5 to 7 Day shipping!

Pros: This drive is pretty fast! I have run tests with Chkflsh and HD Tune to verify read/write speeds. Chkflsh came up with about 150 mb/s sustained read and 60 mb/s sustained write. HD Tune gave me an average transfer rate of 141 mb/s. Copying/pasting files from a fast SSD gave me sustained write speeds of 60 mb/s with an initial burst of about 160 mb/s.

Cons: It isn't the smallest flash drive on the planet. However, it just stays on my big bulky keychain and I don't really mind. I don't think you will, either.

I am not quite seeing the maximum speeds advertised, but I'm not going to complain. Its still very fast, especially for the cost. Also, it does come with some bloatware that can be easily removed by a format.

Pros: This thing is incredibly fast. Haven't run any benchmarks but a 1.59GB file from my PC took 15 seconds to transfer to this flash drive. That's some crazy write speed.

I like that the port is retractable. Makes me feel more comfortable tossing it in my backpack.

Cons: Not as cheap as some of the other 3.0 drives but now I know why!

Other Thoughts: The product is awesome, Newegg is awesome, DHL is NOT awesome. Drive sat in St. Louis (20 minutes from my house) for three days before being sent out for delivery. Also included completely implausible updates, claiming the drive went from Memphis to St. Louis in just over 30 minutes. If you're in a rush, do NOT use free shipping option.

Pros: Extremely fast assuming you have it in a USB3 compatible port

Cons: None that I can think of.

Pros: Tested copying a 4GB zip file:
~65MB/sec write speed
~130 MB/sec read speed

During Windows 7 installation from this drive to a Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD, "Copying Windows Files" took about 1 second. I was actually nervous when I saw it go that fast - it looked like a bug - but the installation was functional and complete in record time.

Cons: It feels cheap mechanically. It rattles, and the lock that keeps the plug from sliding back into the shell is inconsistent and feels like it might break someday.

Other Thoughts: As the parts buyer for a small office of people who all want USB flash drives, I've had the chance to play with many of the top rated 4GB-16GB USB flash drives on NewEgg.

This one is by far the fastest. More than twice as fast as 2nd place.
