1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

This review is from: SanDisk Cruzer Glide 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model SDCZ60-032G-B35

Pros: 32GB

Cons: Fails almost immediately

Other Thoughts: I just opened one up and was using it for about five minutes, when it went into write protection mode. There is absolutely no way to resolve this issue - it renders the drive useless. And if you were unlucky enough to have put personal data on the disk, there is no way to delete it or reformat the drive to erase it. It is there forever (unless you decide to burn the drive). Sandisk is knowingly putting a defective drive on the market, just check their website forums.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Timothy,

My name is Allen from SanDisk support. I am sorry to hear that your flash drive has become write protected. Write Protection error occurs when the flash drive encounters a potential fault within itself and the controller locks it down in write protect mode in order to prevent any accidental data loss. SanDisk stands behind the warranty on its products. We recommend you to please contact SanDisk support at 1-866-SANDISK or submit a support request at www.sandisk.com/support. We will suggest you alternative ways to process the replacement without sharing your confidential data.

Thank you,
SanDisk Support.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy

This review is from: SanDisk Cruzer Glide 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model SDCZ60-032G-B35

Pros: I've been a long time buying of SanDisk Cruzer products. I bought two 32GB Cruzer Glides and both are extremely unreliable.

Cons: No matter the system, sometimes their recognized, but most of the time they’re not

Other Thoughts: I bought them at Staples during a business, not at NewEgg. Normally this type of purchase is through NewEgg because of their awesome service.

3 out of 5 eggsFat and Slow

This review is from: SanDisk Cruzer Glide 32GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model SDCZ60-032G-B35

Pros: Good space, and had a cheap price at 17.99 at staples during a sale this week.

You can hide the USB interface to protect it when traveling with the slider.

Cons: Slow. I bought a TDK Trans-it 16gb drive years ago online and while that drive is half the capacity, this Sandisk and a Sandisk Cruzer Facet are four times slower at MB/s write speeds, making a 4-5gb photo transfer much slower than I care to save a few dollars for.
Going back to Staples today to return them so I can buy more TDK drives.

Fat. Sticks up a good half inch further than my TDK because of it's slider feature. the chip is nowhere near that long but it sure looks it when it's on my PC.

Other Thoughts: Try 18 or 19MB/s for my TDK and a measly 4.3MB/s for this Sandisk, and the other small ones I tried. Bleh.

Read Speeds are on par with my TDK, if you've got 32gb of files you only want to write once (or can wait forever to write many times) go for it.
If you want to read AND write to this thing, get up and brew a few cups of coffee or cook lunch, you'll have the time.
