Convenient, Cost-Effective Upgrade

Sequential Read Speeds up to 450MB/s

With sequential read speeds up to 450MB/s**, the SanDisk ReadyCache SSD excels in memory-intensive tasks. It delivers much faster bootup and load times than a traditional 7,200RPM hard drive1.

Reliable, Long-Lasting Operation

The SanDisk ReadyCache SSD features solid state architecture with no moving parts. The drive is rated at 4.1 million hours MTBF3 (mean time before failure).

3 out of 5 eggsGood price

Pros: Great price when I bought it
Okay read speeds

Cons: slow write speeds

Other Thoughts: Used this for the OS in one of my system and used a tb hdd for storage was a decent setup. The space available an read speed will force you to be creative with you're data. I ended up sending all user data, paging files, cache, and installed all programs to the storage drive. Read speed was still a benefit.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive Upgrade

Pros: Inexpensive upgrade for old Windows 7 or earlier boxes.
Reasonable improvement to boot time.
More stable and energy efficient than older SATA drives.

Cons: Room for OS (up to Windows 7 or most Linux distros) and not much more.

Other Thoughts: Bought this low end SSD to upgrade a fleet of old Dell workstations from XP to Windows 7 a few years ago--essentially allowed us to squeeze a few more years of life out of aged desktops by improving boot and running performance. A bargain SSD for lower end business class workstations.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal for Dollar

Pros: Straight forward install, No need to partition or format, software does it all. Windows does not see it as a volume so no unnecessary loss of space nor alerts. Install and forget efficiency.

Cons: Had to dig on SanDisk's website for software. Takes several reboots and time to start seeing results. Software requires Admin approval every boot for GUI.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with ReadyCache, was a really good value.

3 out of 5 eggsReady Cashe

Pros: Ok for a small capacity ssd.

Cons: Didn't notice much of a boost, after building the cashe it will occasionally drop and have to start over, it is now used in a hd enclosure as a large usb fob after wiping and reformatting.

Other Thoughts: I understand the principle, and with a fresh OS install would probably work better, but it will still hang up at some point and any small gain will be lost.

2 out of 5 eggsGathering Dust.

Pros: Simple, was cheap for comparable sized ssd at time
very light.

Cons: Really did very little for performance.
Converting it to usable space was not worth it.
Currently expensive vs a full featured SSD.
Replaced this with a Chronos 60GB SSD for a real performance gain used as dedicated cache drive.

2 out of 5 eggsMeeeh....

Pros: The drive itself seems fine, if you're looking for something with low capacity. But I'm not paying for just the drive...

Cons: The ReadyCache software really feels useless. Maybe I don't see it because I already have a RAID-5 setup, but I was hoping for some performance boost. It's just cutting off a second or two on load times, if anything. Drivers load after boot, so there's little to no reduction in boot time. Cache takes a while to fill up, apparently files need to be accessed numerous times before they are allocated to the SSD.

Other Thoughts: For a noticeable performance boost, I recommend sticking with an Intel motherboard that supports SSD cache with its chipset, or get a third party PCIe card that supports HyperDuo.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Keith,

My name is Allen from SanDisk support. I am sorry to hear that your memory cards are not functioning. SanDisk stands behind the warranty on its products. 5 out of 5 eggsgreat ssd

Pros: Works great everyday since a year, as a ssd.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Got it free with Asus RT-N56U. What a deal???!!! I formatted it and use it as a Linux mint 17.1 (for now) main/boot drive in a media pc behind my Sony big screen.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat solution

Pros: Cuts boot time (50 to 55 secs), very fast loading of games, apps. No glitches that I can detect.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Excellent solution if you want to keep your big HDD. Not as fast as SSD alone but darn close. Bought one for my brother!

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Does its jobs well as a caching drive and installation of the hardware and software is a breeze

Cons: Wish the software was more customizable and able to allocate the cache to specific hard drives like ROMEX's Primo Cache software allows. You can use it with third party software but why not include it in this one?

Other Thoughts: Good buy if you want to give your mechanical hard drives a little pep without the hassle of setting up a caching hard drive manually.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable, Linux-friendly

Pros: Fast, reliable, cheap.

Cons: Only 32Gb, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I initially bought one of these to replace my Kingston 64Gb SSD that only lasted a year. Since then, I have bought 3 more of these in the past few years with no problems or failures. These are perfect for your operating system + a few games to live on, or for a small server. I have also used one to replace the hard drive in my netbook, giving very favorable results.

These are also extremely Linux-friendly. I currently host 2 Debian servers, each using one of these SSDs. I have never encountered an incompatibility issue due to these SSDs.

Overall, I am very pleased with these drives, and will continue to purchase more of these for future projects.
