1 out of 5 eggsErr CF

This review is from: Transcend 4GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS4GCF133

Pros: Took about 30 pictures. Got some of them off before problems

Cons: Died after taking about 30 pictures... Got "Err CF" in the middle of taking a picture. Now I can't retrieve the ones I hadn't already copied and can't format the card in computer OR Camera

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my Canon 30D. Had good reviews, well, don't believe them. I can only assume that quality of these cards is getting worse because they aren't used as often. EXCEPT very nice high end cameras that are workhorses still use them, Many high end Printers use them as firmware boot cards. So you'd think the quality of these would be top notch now.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Please contact Transcend Technical Support and we will assist you with your card. 1-800-886-5590.

Regards,

Transcend Technical Support

5 out of 5 eggsSolid.

This review is from: Transcend 4GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS4GCF133

Pros: Cards formatted and tested without issue.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Will be used in a Canon 350D/EOS Rebel XT.

Paid for UPS 3 day shipping and received them two days from order date. Very pleased with that.

Otherwise, this was a typical Newegg business transaction. Positive experience overall, just like I've been getting for the past 10 years.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great as FreeNAS boot drive

This review is from: Transcend 4GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS4GCF133

Pros: I bought this card a year ago for use with an IDE adapter. It's used as a boot/OS drive in my FreeNAS box running on an old HP Pentium 4 mini-tower in the basement. Three old IDE hard drives are used as data volumes drives where I backup my stuff.

Works great. No sound! I have FreeNAS configured to power down the IDE HDDs when not in used. Keeps thing very quiet.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Does what I wanted it to do.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

This review is from: Transcend 4GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS4GCF133

Pros: Works; got this and a IDE adaptor to use the CF card as a hardrive for a free NAS build using the AMD K6-2 Processor & motherboard with 512 mb memory from an old Compact Prisario 7360 computer. A SATA 2 Port SATA RAID card and 2; 500 gig Hatachi SATA hard drives, RAID 1. OS installed on first try.

Cons: None so far will see how long it last.

Other Thoughts: Will be getting a second one later to build a Ubuntu server and use it for the OS drive.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb Cards

This review is from: Transcend 4GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model TS4GCF133

Pros: I bought three of these cards and all of them to this day still work. I have had them now for about 3 years. They have gone through the Nikon D700 & the Nikon D80 and have seen a lot of use.

Cons: Never had a single problem.

Other Thoughts: I have had Crucial, SanDisk & Kingston all go out on me at some point in time.
