Other Thoughts: I've been using this flash drive to store music files, mostly MP3's, for my car stereo system. I have an Alpine headunit with a USB input and have a cable running into my center console where the USB drive stays plugged in almost permanently. I have used it on a few occasions to transfer files too large to email, like projects and presentations for school; but 99% of the time I just use it to play music off of. In that capacity I use the drive almost every day. It's been pretty reliable; occasionally, maybe once every two weeks, my headunit will display 'Media Player Error', and I'll have to unplug the USB drive and plug it back in, which always clears the error message. I don't know if that's the fault of the drive or the headunit but it's not a big deal. It's never lost any data or gave me any other problems.

Pros: I've owned an 8GB Patriot flash drive for years. It has always been reliable and kept my files not corrupted. I tend to pull it out of my PC without "ejecting" and it hasn't complained but a handful of times. It is definitely more reliable than the Corsair Voyager I previously had which corrupted and caused me to lose all of my files.

I purchased this 16GB model because I wanted a little bit more space and I need to use the 8GB model for my NAS encryption key. I specifically searched for this brand over any other brand.

Cons: 1. The tip that covers the USB portion needs to have a string or be able to attach to the body itself. It will come off and get lost at some point, which is not desirable.

2. While it does have a loop to tether to the actual USB body, that is made out of rubber. It needs to be part of the plastic core inside. My 8GB model had the black rubber loop tear off, which if you are not paying attention to - could cause the loss of your USB drive.

Pros: It's fast and cheap

Cons: I'm a PC tech and I use it to store various kinds of work data so I am always using on different machines. This is my second one and after a while from pushing in in various machines, it's starting to come lose from the rubber casing. Being this is my 2nd that this has happened too, I was extra careful with it because the last one just snapped right off. I can see the same exact thing is happening to this one as it's already slightly bent.

Other Thoughts: I am going to buy something this time that has a more solid base. A hard plactic case I don't think would be as prone to breaking than a rubber one.

Pros: These are super fast, reliable, and durable. They're perfect if you're a technician, and I'm sure they'd satisfy the average user as well. They're priced perfectly...just a dollar or two more than the average stick. It's a great value for what you're getting.

Cons: Haven't found one yet...other than the caps are easy to lose. That's not specific to this product though.

Other Thoughts: Will keep buying more of these.

Pros: It fast and sturdy and handles big files wonderfull enough for the price !

Cons: No lanyard

Pros: Owned since 8/12 great usb.

Cons: Had to use proprietary patriot software to get it to work instead of RMA. Still windows 7 asks to scan to correct problems every time I plug it in. Thus, minus an egg.

Cons: I ordered this device off a different site back in 2010, I've had to replace the drive twice. I just received my third and it is DOA. Used to have a lifetime warranty, now it is 5 years. I guess Patriot realized they would lose money by continuing to replace them.

Other Thoughts: It worked until it failed.

Pros: Very decent read/write speeds
Rugged exterior
Easy to see, blue activity light
Good compatibility

Cons: Endcap has nothing tieing it to the main stick so it can get lost if a person isn't careful

Other Thoughts: This review is of the USB2.0, 16GB, Patriot Xporter XT Boost, model PEF16GUSB. It was purchased from newegg 2/18/2013 for $15.99.
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 from this stick. It replaced an 8GB Corsair Survivor. I did a quick test with the two sticks to compair the amount of time it took to boot to the logon screen. Here are the results:
Corsair = 86.9 seconds
Patriot = 37.5 seconds
The Patriot was 2.3x faster in being able to boot to the logon screen which is enough of a difference to really be noticed and appreciated.

Pros: Rubberized makes it look cool and protects from shock/water. I accidentally left it in pocket and it went through the washer. Still works just as well as it ever had. The transfer rate is freaking fast. For it's size, it is very practical. To transfer a 16 GB file it would take approximately 10 minutes if my calculations are correct. How much faster do you really need?

Cons: The size is a slight detractor, but hardly an issue. Its still small/compact enough to use in any situation I've thrown at it. Very portable.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a less expensive alternative to USB 3.0... this is it.
