  • newegg Single-chip USB 3.0 Design with 8-Channel Technology The Patriot Supersonic Magnum series eliminates performance bottlenecks introduced when using a separate USB 3.0 bridge chip by integrating a native USB 3.0 flash memory controller. This results in a smaller footprint and higher performance than bridge-based solutions. By pairing the controller with Patriot 8-Channel technology, the Patriot Supersonic Magnum achieves sequential read speed up to 200MB/s and sequential write speed up to 120MB/s.
  • newegg Ultra Durable and Portable A durable aluminum enclosure enables shock resistance up to 15Gs for better protection of your data. And a smaller physical size of the Supersonic Magnum USB 3.0 flash drive allows for even greater portability and style.
  • newegg A rating of 9/10 from Modders-Inc.com The “lightning fast” and “light wight” Supersonic drive has won a rating of 9/10! “Sharing files, traveling from place to place, from work to home and back, it can’t get much easier and faster than with the Patriot Supersonic USB 3.0 Flash Drive.” “For another comparison test I ran a test on a Hitachi SATA 3GB drive and it too was beaten down by the Patriot Supersonic flash drive, but it did not come in last as it whipped the tar out of the "so-called" USB 3.0 drive from Western Digital. The Patriot Supersonic Flash Drive was 68% faster on the Read and 12% faster on the Write.” Read the full article by following the link: http://www.modders-inc.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=351

5 out of 5 eggs4 years later

Pros: Easily the dopest usb flash drive EVER.

Most HARD DRIVES I get now are 128gb ssd's... but to have USB 3.0 thumb drive that size?

It's WICKED fast...

Cons: It's wide... so if you have usb plugs bunched up and plugged up next to each other and together... you may have to unplug one to get this one in.... wish it were normal sized.

Get's a little hot when transferring HUGE files for long periods of time.

I bought this thing for about 150 when it came out... much cheaper now

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works great. I've been using this thumbdrive several times a week for two years now. Speedy.

Cons: It's a little wide so it has a hard time fitting in some USB ports.

Other Thoughts: Used with linux/osx/windows formatted exfat.

5 out of 5 eggsIntial Review

Pros: I have owned the 64 GB Magnum for 2 + years with 0 issues. I am anticipating the same satisfaction with the 128GB one. I will test and update my review when it arrives.

Cons: None at this time. I see a lot of people are complaining about the "size" of the drive. ALL MAGNUMS ARE LARGE IN SIZE! Yes it usually will cover up 2 USB ports depending on your MB/Case configuration. Is the size of the unit a deal breaker?---absolutely not. I also see people complaining about the cap. I throw mine away when I get them. If your biggest complaint is "the cap is loose" you don't need a 128 GB thumb drive you need a baby bottle so you will stop whining! Buy a thumb for the specs not the cap!

Other Thoughts: As I said earlier I will thoroughly test the unit when I get it and update my review. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great! A little big, though

Pros: Love 128GB on-the-go.
Transfer rates are consistent between 80-130MB per second depending on the file (copying from an SSD).
I've transferred about 400GB on and off the device already with no issues.

Cons: It's quite wide. I am sure some of the reason is to "show off", but if you need space between other USB ports, it might be an issue. I don't have that, so I can't really complain too much.

5 out of 5 eggsFast Yes, Big Yes

Pros: I've had my Patriot Magnum 64gb for about a year now. Never had an issue. Only reason I'm writing this post is because of people complaining about the size. Do yourself a favor: While buying this thumb drive also buy a USB 3.0 extension cable. Mine is about 18" long and allows me to use the USB 3.0 jack that would normally be blocked on the laptop due to the thumb drive's size.

Cons: Zero

3 out of 5 eggsCorrupt files

Pros: I owned several 64gb Patriot flash drives, they have been great for speed.
I used them to backup weekly.

Cons: I purchased Patriot Magnum 128gb about 8 months, it works great till recently I experience corrupts and missing files. I used Patriot repair tool and work about a week but now corrupts file again.
My other 64gb Patriot flash drive without any issue, not sure the this 128gb is defected.

2 out of 5 eggsGood but poor build quality

Pros: Fast (big step up from the 2.0 world)

Cons: Bulky form factor and poor build quality. The entire external housing came loose after a couple months of normal use and shortly after, the usb connector has started to separate from the memory board. It now requires delicate placement to get all of the pins to properly connect and due to its bulky size, this can hog all of the space around a usb port.

4 out of 5 eggsBulky but Powerful

Pros: As fast as it says on the tin. I use it as a poor man's SSD with a games and a cache loaded on it with very noticable improvements on load times.

Cons: It's big, specifically wide. It will block adjacent ports if your usb is arranged horizontally. It's not a problem for me because I use a hub with an extension port, but something to keep in mind.

Other Thoughts: I bought this thing with a specific purpose in mind and mindful of the limitations, and it delivers, but unless you plan on running applications or loading a linux distro on it, there are more cost-efficient sticks out there for plain usb storage.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: Fast, fast and did I mention fast? Thing is great. Speed is such a big player with larger flash drives. Worth the money.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsA Dream, Squashed

Pros: A good amount of space

Cons: Less than desirable build quality

Other Thoughts: All I have to say is that the little blue thing on the inside kind of broke off and now the top doesn't actually click on the entire way. For the 130 I spent on this, I would expect something a little better designed. Pretty sad. Will avoid Patriot if this can't get fixed
