1 out of 5 eggsTERRIBLE PRODUCT

Pros: It was cheap

Cons: From the moment I installed this ssd, my computer has done nothing but blue screens. It started off once every time I turn it on, then it gradually increased. Now it will blue screen right when I turn on the computer to almost every 10 minutes! DON'T BUY!!

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues

Pros: Fairly inexpensive drive, good capacity for the price. This was my first SSD purchase. I've got one in my wife's older HP laptop, and soon after I have one in a customer's Dell XPS rig. Flawless install on both, works fine in AHCI and IDE modes. I inherited the DV2000 soon after I upgraded it, and it's currently a dual-boot Win7 and Linux setup. Works perfectly, and actually boots faster to Linux than to Windows.

Cons: Not being able to feel/hear it working takes some getting used to.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: For the price this is a solid SSD (no pun intended), i have had mine for over a year and have never had any issues with it. The load times and performance of windows, applications, and games has increased dramatically. I would recommend this SSD to family and friends.

Cons: I really can't think of any cons.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks.. so far...

Pros: It works for a couple of weeks now (a new record for OCZ SSD's!!!)

Cons: I have already seen 3 BSOD's using this as a boot drive, so I switched to using it as a cache drive. As a cache drive in intel SRT on a 2TB RAID0 array, this has caused a few stutters, but otherwise accelerated the performance. This is a replacement for an OCZ vertex2 3.5' drive that failed, and was replaced via RMA, failed two more times, and then finally OCZ (which I appreciate) sent me one of these as a replacement instead. I paid $180 for my vertex 2 about a year back, so you do the math how long they last. Most died within a day or two. I will post a 1 star followup if this lasts less than two years.

Other Thoughts: I don't trust OCZ anymore. I used to buy all their ram, then I went with their SSD business buying a 30 GB OCZ solid (first generation) for like $100 4 years or so ago... The Solid worked well in RAID, but otherwise was intolerably jumpy. However, it was the only OCZ drive that kept working for years. Since then I am zero for 4 with OCZ. Go with an Intel or Samsung controller, and I would say stay away from OCZ in general unless you can get a 120 GB drive from them with good reviews for significantly cheaper than everyone else ($50 or less- seriously). I have two 40 GB Intels in RAID, also first generation, and they get a 7.8 rating in Windows 7 and never stutter, crash, or fail. I am thinking of using these as a boot drive again. Right now it is just where I installed Assasins Creed III (Does nothing for framerates BTW, so much better as bootdrives, internet, and productivity installation than for gaming).

5 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Fast boot times. Brings new life to an old Thuban based rig. Better price/performance than Intel. Sata III.

Cons: Took 3 times to reformat and install win 7.

Other Thoughts: Fast, but not as fast as OCZs top SSD

1 out of 5 eggsunstable

Pros: Fast when it works. Although the MB of my laptop only supports SATA2, the performance improvement is significant.

Cons: I installed this SSD on my Dell 5010 laptop, and it has been causing blue screens since day 1 (I almost never had any blue screens with my original HDD in the past 2 years). Originally the blue screens occurred occasionally, but after a month of use, it crashes everyday. I can't bear it anymore and decided to issue an RMA.

Other Thoughts: I also bought an Agility 4 and an Onyx for my 2 other PCs, they seem to work trouble-free so far but time will tell how stable they really are.

The MIR is really a hassle, I submitted my rebate for all my 3 SSDs and they all got rejected.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry for the difficulties. We suggest that your drive be flashed to firmware version 2.25, as we are confident that this will solve your issues. Please visit our support forums at the link below for more information. Thank you
