2 out of 5 eggsUnreliable at 1600 MHz

Pros: Inexpensive, heat spreader is nice.

Cons: Unstable with factory RAM settings (BSOD). Only stable at 1333 MHz.

Other Thoughts: I got BSOD crashes every 5 minutes in a new install. Memtest ran fine, but still the crashes. Tried different slots, one stick at a time, etc. Finally reduced the DRAM clock speed to 1333 MHz and the crashes went away completely. Not worth waiting 1-2 weeks for non-hot-swap RMA. I used the stock settings (9-9-9-24, 1.5V) in manual as well as automatic modes.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got a good price on the RAM and you like the heat spreader. This memory is above standard, so AUTO default settings will not work properly. It is required for the user to manually input settings, or enable the performance profile in BIOS/EFI. If the motherboard supports XMP/DOCP/EOCP, enable this feature and it will allow the motherboard to automatically detect and configure all memory settings. With a CPU natively capable of the performance values of the RAM, the computer should be fast and stable. For plug and play RAM, you need to purchase DDR3-1333 CL9. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggs8GBs purchiesed

Pros: I have been running CoD Ghost, and a lot of other games and these Ripjaws have done the job. Sometimes I heavily multitask and I would say I have no problems, I even have used different series of G.Skill ram on other memebers of the family computers I have built and no one has complained to me so I trust G.Skill. I'm very Happy specially with Newegg on my second order of ram was at my house like magic.

Cons: None that I can see.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: This RAM is just great. I have had it for nearly 3 years and it has been through hell. System upgrades and thousands of hours of use, and the two sticks still run as if I bought them yesterday. Amazing RAM especially for the price.

Cons: Not a single one.

Other Thoughts: If you need 4gb of RAM, it would not be wise to pass these up!

1 out of 5 eggsWould not recommend

Pros: Good amount of RAM to do something on.

Cons: Get memory dump bluescreens every 6 hours or so. Caused from faulty RAM and it's done this since i've had them. Strongly do not reccomend.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with any problems. This memory kit is above standard, so it is necessary to enable the XMP/DOCP/EOCP profile, or manually configure settings in BIOS. Without the correct settings, the system may be unstable, and it is possible for the RAM to corrupt over time. Once you input the proper settings, the computer will be fast and reliable. Should you need any assistance with this, please feel free to contact us directly and we will be glad to assist you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Inexpensive RAM

Pros: Own two pairs; one is in my parent's PC (email, banking) and I have a pair in my own PC (Gaming). Never have had trouble with any of the sticks and plan to buy more.

Cons: No cons for the product, just really hope they restock quickly.

Other Thoughts: I now realize that 4GB just isn't enough for my PC, but is perfectly fine for my parents PC. Kinda wish I had went with the 8GB (4GB X 2) kit though. If you are a heavy multitasker I would recommend a step up to 8 GB.

1 out of 5 eggsWould have been nice

Pros: The one that did work was pretty nice

Cons: in a pack of two one was DOA

Other Thoughts: Not a huge deal, it happens. First time buying G.Skill though so I hope I just got unlucky with getting one dead stick.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory works well in your system. It is strange a module was DOA, but rest assured it can be replaced right away. The RMA process is quick and hassle free, so your computer can be up to full speed in no time. Once you receive the new memory, manually input basic DRAM settings, or enable the XMP/DOCP/EOCP performance profile, then the system will be ready to go. The memory is above standard, so it is necessary to configure settings. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

2 out of 5 eggsBad ram

Pros: Decent ram for decent price. Ram is pretty straightforward.

Cons: One of the sticks was bad. RMA procedure was a pain. G.SKILL seems to be a non-english company, which isn't a bad thing aside from being hard to communicate with and sometimes hard to understand their written instructions.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price. This is a very popular memory kit as it provides good performance at an affordable price. DDR3-1600 is perfect for gaming and tasks that could use higher speed RAM than standard. Keep in mind DDR3 motherboards can not automatically detect the performance values, so check that the XMP/DOCP/EOCP profile is enabled (if supported by motherboard), otherwise you need to manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI. It is strange a module is defective, but don't worry, send it in for RMA exchange and we can have a new one out to you immediately. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so your computer can be up to full speed in no time.

G.Skill Headquarters is based in Taiwan, but we do have a USA office in Southern California. Every one speaks great English here, so you may have contacted the wrong office. In addition, RMA does not require speaking to someone, everything can be done online so it is very easy. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
