3 out of 5 eggsBad Stick, Bad Returns Policy

Pros: I bought TWO sticks at the same time, one was good, the good one seems to run fine cant tell if it improves performance because I had 8 gigs of my old ram and now only 4 of this.

Cons: Got a bad stick of memory, trying to RMA newegg wants 11$ to ship a small piece of memory that WAS BAD WHEN THEY SENT IT TO ME. So not only did I pay to have the bad ram shipped to me, I have to pay to have it shipped back.. Nope I'm just gonna buy two new sticks from a different company/Website.

Other Thoughts: I gave this product 3 stars as the one that was good worked okay, but taking 2 stars for Defective memory and super terrible returns policy.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the trick, fine for a basic build

Pros: Good capacity/price ratio.
Solid RAM.

Cons: Heat spreaders mostly for show.

Other Thoughts: I just needed a stick of dependable RAM for a low end home server rebuild, and this G.SKILL fit my bill nicely. Tolerated a few hours of memtest burn in without error and the final result works great.

Pros: Good price. Handles load very well and doesn't heat up.

2 out of 5 eggsEnded up not using it

Pros: HIGHLY REGARDED

Cons: Not totally sure if it works at all :(

Other Thoughts: Bought for an HP Compaq Elite 8000 business PC 4 an extra boost to run the multiple ram-intensive programs I usually run on it (also some light gaming for down-time) but as soon as I inserted it, I got the 5 POST beeps with red light flashing indicating either ram inserted incorrectly or not even the right ram at all. That was and continues to be weird...I checked, double checked, and continued to check multiple times for compatibility in the ram's spec sheet as well as the PC's upgrade manual---> TOTAL compatibility.

What's wrong?? Can't tell a damnn thing and can't touch the damnn BIOS on this thing either since it's an hp shidt.
Can't return it because I bent red metal bracket to fit it into the sff frame :(

So, it's in my one of the drawers of my desk now...processing loads of nothing in its box.

really had high hopes for it but now a corsair's heading my way.

Manufacturer Response:

Pros: I've got six of these in my home lab, it works well holds up and is generally great. I started having BSOD's and yup, it turned out to be a bad stick, I contacted G.Skill for an RMA and it was as easy as sending it back and they had me a new stick of memory in no time. VERY happy with the product and the support from the manufacturer.

Pros: Got it for $34, and it works. Great warranty policy too.

Cons: Only DDR1333, but I knew that when I bought it and my current CPU doesn't support anything faster. Good match.

Other Thoughts: I built a new system, and I was having some troubles. So I ran memtest 86+ for 18 passes, and 0 errors were found. Ultimately I determined it was a hard-drive problem.

Would buy G.skill again.

Pros: good fast ram.

Cons: no dual channel, not supportet by by mobo.

Other Thoughts: i secrewed that up

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory is working fast in your system. This memory can run as dual channel in a supported motherboard, but a second module is necessary. With two modules of this RAM, it will perform extremely well in a dual channel motherboard. You did not screw up, you just purchased half of a kit. Once you purchase another module, your computer can operate as it was designed to for maximum performance. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Perfect

Pros: This RAM works, and works well. In all honesty I searched for the lowest price RAM, as this was my first computer build and I didn't need anything spectacular. This may have not been the "cheapest", but based on everyone's reviews I went with this RAM.

I'm impressed at how smoothly everything seems to work, and if I need another 4gigs in the future this would be my first choice.

Thank you G.SKILL!

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Cheap
Stable
Temperature Controlled

Cons: Not free?

Other Thoughts: I originally bought one then a few months later bought a second...I absolutely LOVE this ram. I'm currently running 8GB and when I get the money I will be buying two more to max out my motherboard. I can very very easily multitask. I am often playing a game, watching Netflix, and surfing the web all at the same time with little to no issues.

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It is very strange you had issues with two modules. Please make sure you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard; an update can commonly solve compatibility problems. This is a plug and play memory kit that should work well for most DDR3 motherboards that can support 4GB modules. Should problem persist, feel free to contact the G.Skill technical support team. They will make sure the memory is working well in your computer.

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It is very strange the module was defective. Please send it in for RMA to see if a replacement works better. If you still have problems, make sure you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. It may also be a defective motherboard, since it is extremely unlikely two consecutive memory modules are defective. Should you continue to have issues or have any questions, feel free to contact us directly. Pros: This RAM instantly improved the performance of my new custom built gaming PC, which was struggling on Star Wars: The Old Republic when I had just 4 gigs of RAM. Adding the Ripjaws RAM opened up the floodgates of gamer heaven for me and now my box slays SWTOR on max settings. I played for about 8 hours straight using my new G.SKILL Ripjaws RAM and had no problems whatsoever. It'll get even more of a stress test this upcoming weekend as well.

Pros: was working great up until...

Cons: purchased 2 sticks of this memory 3/11/2012 and one of them died yesterday, gave 3 stars since 1 of the 2 still works great but the 2nd one still died.

Other Thoughts: was great memory at first, put it into my biostar mobo and worked like a charm; detected, correct timings, ectect; then turned on my computer, computer post's and shows the win 7 loading screen (flag) then BSOD, does a memory dump then restarts and BSOD again, removed the stick of memory and boots right up no problems.

Pros: - Fast
- Low heat
- Large GB in one stick, combine two for 8 GB of RAM

Cons: - You have to buy two in order to get dual/triple channel on your mainboard
- Cas Latency 9

Other Thoughts: - Using the BIOSTAR H61MGC mainboard with two of these sticks for a total of 8 GB of RAM in dual channel setup
- First stick died within the first three weeks. The other stick is still going strong, not sure for how long though.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had issues. This is a single channel memory kit, so if you need dual channel 8GB, you should use the G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL. This is one of our most popular memory modules as it provides good plug and play performance. It is compatible with most DDR3 systems that can support 4GB modules, so it is very universal. With new replacements, the reliability should be much better. Rest assured that all G.Skill memory modules are backed by a lifetime warranty, so you will always have good working RAM in your computer. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat as always

Pros: Easily overclock to 1600Mhz, compatible with almost any motherboard.
Looks cool too!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I always buy G.Skill ram because its cheap, and overclocks like crazy.
Also, I've never had a single stick of bad G.Skill ram.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple, yet effective

Pros: Plug-and-Play. One of these babies will do just fine if you're a regular computer user, but if you're into the newest games (Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Arkham City) you'll definitely want 2, maybe even 3 of them.

Cons: None. As the old saying goes "Ram is Ram".

5 out of 5 eggsCheap, look good, etc.

Pros: Bought one stick back in September for my first build but quickly realized for games like Battlefield 3 and The Witcher 2, 8GB is ideal, upgraded to 8 in December.
A great value all around and is definitely worth upgrading to 8 just to future proof.
As others have said the heat spreader does look cool and does well to compliment other flashy hardware.

Cons: None, snap it in and go.
