3 out of 5 eggs8gb great size

Pros: They look awesome nice with a red system.
Heat sink instead of plain pcb.

I will knock 2 ggs off for sticks only lasting a month. What a bummer, RMA hopefully goes smooth

Cons: They only worked for about a month.

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you think the RAM looks awesome. This is one of our most popular kits ever, so we are certain you will be very pleased with it. The appearance, price, and performance is unrivaled by any other RAM. It is strange a module went bad, but send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so you should receive a new module shortly. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Ram

Pros: No problems installing or booting. Everything was detected normally and things are a running smoothly for about 2 weeks now. Look well built and look pretty cool with the red heat dissipaters. Even comes with a cool case sticker.

Cons: None I can think of at the moment.

Other Thoughts: In order for this RAM to run at the maximum advertised clock speed, I had to go into the bios settings and manually set it to 1600mhz.

This is most likely an issue with my motherboard than the RAM since I had to do this same procedure with the other pair of RAM I purchased that had the same specs as these G.SKill.

It's just something to consider if you notice your RAM not running at the advertised clock speed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Used in a base-line build so a bit overkill but worked right out of the box. I'm running three systems with G.Skill memory and have been very happy. Relatively inexpensive and low-latency.

Cons: Wish it were cheaper...but you do get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: This ram won't be the slowest part in your system and I think is quite good for any class of build. If you are paying more than a $100 for ram of this capacity, you are likely overpaying and will not notice any differences in performance. I don't overclock my systems so overclockers can argue against this but use the money saved on ram to buy a faster hard drive/video card since that is most likely where any performance bottlenecks will be.

5 out of 5 eggsUpgraded to 16GB

Pros: Purchased these to upgrade my current 8gb of ram to 16gb. Passed 5 hours of memtest with out any errors. Really awesome looking RAM

Cons: I bough my first set of this exact ram a year ago. I got this new set about a week ago and the heatsink is slightly longer toward the edges of the ram when compared to the old set. Basically when looking at the ram w/ all 4 DIMM slots full its not an even line across the top and bottom edge.

Other Thoughts: none

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM for the price

Pros: Worked right out of the packaging. Comes with stickers!

Never had DOA ram from G. Skill. I've used it in previous builds and suggested it to friends. 6th order I have placed with newegg for G. Skill ram and still not disappointed so far!

Cons: Wish they had a good option for low profile ram, the sticks are fairly tall with the heat sinks. Seems a little like wasted space to me, but the sticks don't get hot so I guess its doing its job.

5 out of 5 eggsLove these guys!

Pros: Fast and easy! They do look cool too!

Cons: it doesn't make sandwiches

Other Thoughts: I have these in my GIGABYTE GA-Q77M-D2H board running with an ivory bridge Core i7-3770 CPU. I still have yet to check my timing settings, 'cause it runs so fast and I have no errors! I'm running Windows 7.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast, overclocks relatively well when paired with FX8150, runs cool. Looks very nice when your case has a window.

Cons: Motherboard doesn't scale the ram to 1600, and instead runs at 1333, but I went into the bios and got it to work. Is a little tall, keep that in mind if you have a large heatsink.

Other Thoughts: Would have been epic if it came in different colors.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory runs well in your AMD system. This RAM will surely unleash the full processing power of the AMD FX-8150 CPU. Keep in mind the memory specifications are above standard, so it is necessary to manually input settings, or enable the DOCP/EOCP performance profile. DDR3 motherboards can only detect/use standard profiles, so it will default to lower values unless changed by the user. The G.Skill Ripjaws series kits are 40mm tall, so make sure you can clear 38mm. This particular model does fit in most aftermarket CPU coolers, so it should not be much of a concern. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
