5 out of 5 eggsnever failed me

Pros: obviously faster than USB 2.0. Works great. No problems.

Cons: Rubber casing makes pulling it out of your pocket take 0.4 seconds longer.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why so many other reviews have failures, but mine's been working like a horse for almost 1.5 years. I use it for work and play, and not a single problem yet.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: I have had mine for quite some time. I use it bi weekly and have never had a moments problem. I have 3 2.0's also and I have never ran them side by side I can't really notice much difference. Although my computer is fast enough where it can handle them without a problem so it would be hard to tell.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I can't believe Corsair would release an inferior product. I have lived by Corsair ram and I have only had one failure which was promptly rectified.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat!...When it works

Pros: Works great, when it works.

Cons: I've ordered 5 of these. They work fine for a month or two and then they quit working. I've replaced each at LEAST twice.

Other Thoughts: I contact Corsair with each failure, and they'll send me a new one when I send it in, but I shouldn't have to do this on a monthly basis. This obviously doesn't work well for high powered users.

1 out of 5 eggscan't put it here

Pros: none

Cons: died in a week, runs hot, doesn't seem any faster than my 4 year old Coarsair 2.0 16GB (I had to resolder the connector) that still works fabously.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this from another provider to use up my use em or lose em Rewards. I wanted to have a portable Linux distro on it. Didn't like the unity desktop so was going for Mint 13 LTS. After wiping the drive it will no longer boot. I have tried different Distros and all fail. It was like it had a boot once ever feature. I have reformatted back to defaults and it still fails.

The drive itself seems flimsy as it rattles around insid its plastic casing which is inside a large rubber shock absorber. Its pretty big. I wouldn't purchase this again.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a Good Buy

Pros: It seems to be a sturdy drive and well protected by it's rubber casing. It is also relatively fast. It was noticeably faster than my USB 2.0 flash drives

Cons: It failed after a little over a year. Perhaps I have been fortunate, but I have never had a flash drive stop working all the way back to when 256 kb was considered large. (Still have them and they still work) In researching solutions, I found that failure is common. Moreover despite the large number of failures Corsair seems to have limited returns to those that failed within 30 days and frequently referred people back to merchant that sold the drive.

Other Thoughts: I would note that I was able to access the drive on one computer and retrieve my data. However, I have not been able to get it to work on any other computer. I guess I should consider myself fortunate that it lasted as long as it did and I suffered no loss of data.

1 out of 5 eggsRead errors

Pros: Quite fast

Cons: Heats up, shorts out, develops read errors, the design of the cap encourages the connector to break.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these a couple of years ago when they were on sale, around the black friday madness sales. The first one, shorted out almost immediately when I put it into a USB 3.0 slot on my laptop. The other, just developed read errors over time and ruined a LMDE project I had going on.

I can't lie that it was pretty fast for read and write, but obviously, if the product dies, and develops read errors, it's pretty much a waste.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 15 months

Pros: While alive, works excellent. Fast transfers, good read, write times, and cheap.

Cons: Died on me after 15 months unexpectedly. Lost over 1.5gb of important school files.

Um, a little bulky i guess? Only real concern is that it just STOPPED working for NO reason.

Other Thoughts: As i said, died without warning, giving me the dreaded blinking blue lights of death. Decided to plug it in one morning, and lo and behold, was undetected by mine or any of my housemates PC's.

This is quite pathetic lifespan for a jumpdrive, considering I still have a 128mb jumpdrive from, jeez, 6 years ago that functions perfectly. And I have a 1 gb drive that was given for free to me, 4 years ago, that still functions perfectly.

Do NOT buy this, unless you want to experience a similar frustration to what I and evidently many others have felt judging from reading these reviews. Funny, I'm sure it was much higher rated when I bought it, or else I wouldn't have.

Nearly everyone who has owned this for more than a year rated it a 1 star from what I can see, so this should tell you EXACTLY what you need to know.

Normally I would request a replacement if still under warranty, but in this case I will NOT risk putting files on this (or any other Corsair) flash drive ever again. I don't even want a replacement from them. Thankfully most of the files I lost can be replaced, but I will not risk being so lucky next time.
