5 out of 5 eggsGreat Choice

This review is from: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: Runs flawlessly and I have never had a problem with the Dominator series. Plus, they look very nice through my case window with their white LEDs.

Cons: A little pricey, but worth it for the quality and ability to overclock.

Other Thoughts: If I were to rethink my choice, I would have gone for one of the higher clocked versions as they would have been a better price for the product.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and spacious

This review is from: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: Fast and reliable - what I've come to expect from Corsair products. Ran Memtest individually on each stick as soon as they arrived for 6-8 hours each, and each passed with flying colors.

16GB is a lot of memory for most things nowadays, however I'm considering purchasing a second set to increase my total memory to 32GB.

Cons: Price. It's to be expected from enthusiast-class products, especially with the light pipes making them look that much prettier, but it still stings a bit.

Other Thoughts: The heat spreaders are very sturdy, and their weight gives the memory sticks that "feels good to hold" feeling.

5 out of 5 eggsGood quality RAM

This review is from: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: No problem to install it on a Gigabyte Z77-HD4 motherboard. I was using G.Skill RAM before and i am now satisfy with this product + the backlight effect is awsome. This model of RAM give you a good style for case mod.

Cons: Expensive

The light upgrade kit dont come with it, you must pay 20$ to get it.

4 out of 5 eggsprocessor beware

This review is from: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: specified to amd cpu purchased @1866

Cons: according to corsair, the asus/amd combination limits memory speed to 1333.

memory is rated at 1866, BUT WILL NOT preform at rated speed. limited to 1333 by asus/amd combination selected.

READ ALL spcs before purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

This review is from: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: Sturdy
Solid build quality
Good looking
Stays cool

Cons: Dose not come with the light bar mod, and that mod is overpriced for what it is. The mod would really make this RAM look even better. This should really come with it and with a wider range of colors to choose from. Not worthy of knocking an egg off though.

Other Thoughts: Solid/Sturdy and Great looking. Performs well, What else could you be looking for in RAM?

One thing to note is that 1866 speeds is now sorta the new 1600 speed, as in 1866 is pretty much becoming the standard when it comes to RAM speeds

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

This review is from: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

Pros: I have 4 now as the LGA2011 4820 really only works well, mine anyway, with four modules to get "quad". Other people have said that you can buy these two modules at a time and they are problem free, that is nice, I found only one other brand where people said that.

Cons: I still am getting some messages "IE has stopped working" but they are much less. I will always wonder what it takes to be fast enough with your machine with regard to internet traffic.

Other Thoughts: I wish I knew more about the 2011 platform but I think I am doing OK. These are rather top of the line modules so it would be me not knowing what to do. I am clocked at 4.5GHz now.
