5 out of 5 eggsFast drive

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Threw this in an old laptop rather than buying a new one. It is like having a whole new machine. If you don't have an SSD, get one. Seriously.

Cons: Would be nice to have been twice as large for half the money.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good!

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Works good
Speeds up the system
Great price
Quality brand

Cons: Can't think of any!

Other Thoughts: Have my OS files on here, as well as a few other commonly used programs. I kept my games on my HDD, and I still notice a difference loading in because my OS load times are non existent anymore!

5 out of 5 eggsLight speed

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Easy install, with Windows 7. Simple great and works...FAST.
Windows loads and is up and running in about 10 seconds.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: As for size at least, bigger is better in the SSD department. I have the 120 GB flavor. It holds Win 7, and a few other often used programs. Definitely need an alternate drive for mass storage. I have purchased a Seagate Barracuda one TB flavor , for storing back ups, system images, and movies and songs and such. Good system.

5 out of 5 eggsKingston 120gig SSD review

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: -Fast boot
-Easy install
-Great price

Cons: -None with the drive itself but Kingston's software sucks and is pretty much useless. Samsung and intel have much better software packages but they are also up to 2x the cost.
-No sata cables or 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter

Other Thoughts: I purchased this drive as a backup SSD for my gaming system in case the Corsair SSD I had in it died. Little did I realize that my Corsair just happened to croak the day I received the Kingston in the mail - how's that for timing? I installed Windows 8.1 on it with no issues and it seems just as fast as my Corsair Neutron GTX, which is significantly more costly than the Kingston.

Be aware that the data transfer WILL BE slower than other more premium drives but you know what? IT DOESN'T MATTER. Once I got into Windows and started downloading drivers, software, etc. I noticed NO performance difference between this Kingston and other SSDs twice its cost. Even the slowest SSD will be at LEAST 10x faster than the fastest HDD, even in raid.

TLDR version: Great drive. YOU GO - YOU BUY NOW.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Small size, fast load, and makes zero sound. These are reliable and tough.

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: this is my second kingston ssd. i use it along side two hdd's. I have my os on the ssd and all my games on the other hard drives. with the os on the ssd my computers boots up in under a minute. Its so small too takes up very little space. Im using my second one for a mini atx build.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Solid SSD

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: - Cheap
- Fast
- Stable
- Recognized without problems
- Has a decent weight to it

Cons: - Lower TBW than other drives (like HyperX 3k)
- Doesn't look super awesome like some other drives
- Incredibly annoying packaging (comes in a blister pack and I couldn't find a straightforward way to open it ;-;)

Other Thoughts: For an SSD this cheap, I was a little concerned that maybe it wasn't going to be all that great, but I pleasantly surprised to find that it's still quite fast and reliable. The build quality was better than I expected it to be, and if you ignore the rather large label on the drive, it looks quite nice too. Sure this isn't the SSD with the best read/write speeds, and it doesn't have the highest TBW, but that's why some other drives are more expensive. For a cheap yet solid choice in SSDs, this is a good call.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: This was purchased to become my new boot drive. Not only is this drive blazing fast compared to my old WD Green, it was surprisingly easy to use. I'm not a fan of unnecessary manufacturer software and was glad to see that the drive did not come with any.
I am noticing boot times under 15 seconds for Windows 8.1. There is also extreme performance when running Photoshop. Usually it took Photoshop 25-30 seconds to start up, down to 3-5 seconds now. I'm currently using it as a boot drive and to use for my intense programs.
The price point was great. Have been watching SSDs now for the past 2 years, waiting to pounce when the GB/$$$ ratio was more in my liking. Can't wait to get a few more for my other machines.

Cons: Would have liked a mount for a 3.5" bay. I didn't take an egg off for that because my Antec case has a spot to screw in a 2.5" drive.

Other Thoughts: Know what you want to use it for. Make sure you set up your libraries to store your media and docs on a traditional HDD.
I would say that purchasing an SSD is going to be one of the most noticable improvements to speed and performance of your machine.
