Other Thoughts: I ordered 4 of these to start a new NAS and replace my older 2 drive NAS. Haven't bought the new 4-drive NAS yet so went through Synology's drive upgrade process. First drive went in and re-mirrored and everything was fine. Put next drive in and it was DOA (already have RMA for this one). Tried another drive and the re-mirror and expansion went fine. Now 3 days later I am getting Drive I/O messages every couple minutes. Problems with 2 out of the 4 drives. Not happy!

Pros: Bought this after returning a WD Red NAS drive because it was very LOUD on access. The Seagate NAS drive was slightly louder at idle (drive spinning sound) that the WD but the sound during access was barely audible above the idle noise. This was important to me since the NAS is sitting in a relative quiet home office and the WD Red "clunk" whenever it was reading/writing was getting on my nerves.

Also, this drive was faster than the WD Red though that's not really a huge issue for NAS drive. Reliability, power usage, and noise are much more important.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: For the same price as the WD Red, I prefer the Seagate NAS.

Pros: would be nice if it worked

Cons: DOA

Pros: - been using them on my media server, works well.

Pros: I ordered these as a combo deal of 4 drives. They all arrived in individual boxes wrapped in a static bag and an air padding sleeve. The individual boxes were in a larger box as well (so well protected). All had no errors in SMART data inititally. After a weekend of burn-in and repeated full disk read/write testing on each drive, they all remained without SMART data issues. So I'd call them a success!

Cons: Wish these were 7200 RPM but at 5900 RPM it's better than 5400 RPM drives.

Pros: Performance, capacity, power, heat, etc. are good at this price point.
I have three of these in R5 now on an LSI card. Will add another for spare when the price comes down or a promo is offered. Went from R1 to R5 without issue though it took over 24 Hrs (data foot print dependent I know ;). Have had these three drives on-line for a couple of months without issue. These are my slow speed, archival drives, also run SAS and other SATA drives on the same LSI-9260-8i controller.

Cons: none of the drives I have purchased thus far have the cool new label shown on NewEgg's product page LOL ;)
Could have a longer 5-year warranty, three years is a bit lean.

Pros: 3TB, it works, it's a Seagate. Wanted another for my NAS checked yesterday (10/5/15) was $111.99 but now it"s $109.00.... how am i saving $40.00?

Other Thoughts: I was skeptical, but Newegg offered $40 off of 2 drives combo. I bought two 3tb drives. Kudos to Newegg for packaging the drives. Newegg wraps each drive in a custom bubble wrap inside a box, snugly fit the drive. For sure this custom packaging will greatly protect the drive during shipping. I ran the Seagate HD tool (Seatools) and read the SMART data. They were brand new (hours/power cycle, etc). I ran full scan 3 times continuously for 2 days and check SMART again. Then I put them as raid 1 on a Seagate NAS (STCU100). I transferred data to the drives to about 1/3 full. The NAS is a home share drive. I periodically read the SMART data remotely through the web interface. They are still good for 1 month now. I hope they last. So far, they exceed my expectation.
