5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard and Mouse

Pros: Quiet keyboard, nice big mouse, lots of customizable features! And a fantastic price!

Cons: The wireless range can be sketchy at times.

Other Thoughts: I used a USB extension cable to mount the receiver a little closer to the keyboard and mouse. Has been working fine for almost a year! Don't know why people whine about it so much.

2 out of 5 eggsPiece of Garbage

Pros: It has every letter and most of the punctuation, I think. Looks cool, what with all the white plastic.

Cons: Keyboard loses signal and mouse lags at a distance of 24 inches, rendering both basically unusable about 40% of the time. This review took me a full 8 minutes to write because of the terrible keyboard I'm typing it on.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't buy it again.

The stupid little dongle is a terrible idea. My last keyboard/mouse combo had a receiver unit with a USB cord coming out of the back of it, making it easy to move the receiver close to the keyboard, making it possible to use.

5 out of 5 eggsvery reliable

Pros: 4 years ago I bought this keyboard and mouse combo and a year later built my own desktop gaming rig. I reused this mouse/keyboard rather than buying new because I was confident it was a good choice. 3 years later (4 years after I bought the combo) the USB dongle has just now died. I think it's really rare for a wireless dongle/keyboard/mouse trio to last 4 years, so I'm really very confident in recommending the purchase of this item.

Cons: Can't think of any.

1 out of 5 eggsMouse is terribly designed, do not buy!

Pros: Decent keyboard for the price.

Cons: The mouse is ridicluously terrible. First, it's extreemly heavy, very tall, and weighted towards the very back. This is very different than any other mouse and after a month I still am not used to it.

The mouse has a fatal design flaw with the wheel. The wheel is a "smooth" wheel so you do not feel it click when it scrolls. The problem is that unless you're at a "click point" -- middle clicks do not register!

As someone who uses middle clicks to open web pages in a new tab, this is a fatal flaw, and makes the mouse completely unusable.

Other Thoughts: I usually love microsoft hardware, but this is a miss.

3 out of 5 eggsSeems to work OK

Pros: Keyboard looks great, has all the buttons that I would expect. It feels very comfortable, is a good size, and very sturdy. Mouse feels very solid as well. Entire package feels professional and well worth the money. When it works, it works well. Uses AA batteries, which are easy to replace when needed.

Cons: Mouse is a big large, which takes some getting used to. Has some lag issues, if the receiver isn't close enough. These aren't constant, however.

Other Thoughts: When you get a keyboard/mouse like this, you expect it to just work. It seems like a burden to have to always be afraid of a lag spike, especially when gaming. I've had that issue with other keyboards though, so I am not sure how common this will be on other people's machines. I wish the connection was more reliable, but for the most part it works OK. As far as a wireless keyboard/mouse - this one is very nicely built and what I would expect as far as quality for the price.

3 out of 5 eggsMS Combo

Pros: Nice looking, good feel to the keys and mouse.

Cons: Weak signal, hard to get a good signal for reliable operation, keyboard and mouse.

Other Thoughts: Shame, shame on Microsoft for such a product.

1 out of 5 eggsDeteriorated over time

Pros: Looked great when I got it.
Keyboard still looks/feels good after over a year.

Cons: Mouse wheel barely turns and the rubber wheel is literally falling apart. Small rubber hunks coming off left and right.
The rubber sides of the mouse accumulate weird residue that is about impossible to clean off.
Mouse batteries last around a month before replacement.
Keyboard lags from time to time, causing me to wait in frustration as it doesn't register keystrokes.

Other Thoughts: I really should have known better than to buy a Microsoft combo off its looks. For $20 laptop mice its alright quality, but for something to use every day spend up for something that will last.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent build quality, poor range

Pros: Decent build quality for the price. Small USB dongle.

Cons: Poor range. I could get no further than 8 feet away before connectivity suffered. This did not occur with the Logitech keyboard I subsequently purchased.
