The DigiMemo L2 Digital Notepad and Digital Inking Pen kit is an excellent solution for form-filling application which needs a form hardcopy and digital filling data. The digital notepad is a stand-alone device with storage capability. It digitally captures and stores everything you write or draw with ink on ordinary paper, without the use of computer and special paper. Then you can easily view, edit, organize and share your handwritten notes in Windows or Mac.

When connected to a PC, the DigiMemo L2 offers an on-line writing function, allowing you to instantly synchronize your writing on the paper with the digital page in its software in Windows. You can send your files via e-mail and share them with your friends. It also is a USB tablet device in Windows or Mac.

What’s in the box:

•A portable digital pad

•A digital inking pen (DigiPen P100)

• Letter size Notepad (already held on the digital pad)

• Two replacement ink cartridges (already stored in the digital pad)

  • newegg Digitally capture and store everything you write Simply place any ordinary paper/notepad (up to Letter size 8.5" x 11.9"/216 mmx 302mm) on the digital pad. Write on the paper with the digital inking pen. The digital pad digitally captures* and stores anything you write in its built-in 32MB storage device, or an optional SD card in real time – no computer and special paper is needed. The more you write on paper, the bigger file size of the digital page will be. The file size of the digital page for one Letter size paper with completely full handwritten notes is only about 400KB. Plus, it can also continue to write into the digital page with contents stored. (*this digital pad captures your handwritten notes up to 0.55" (14 mm) thickness of paper, about 140 sheets of paper. )
  • newegg Organize your notes With its DigiMemo Manager organizing software, you can easily view, edit and organize your digital pages in Windows or Mac. In Windows, you can also use the on-line writing function which can instantly synchronize your writing on the paper with the digital page in its software. Save any digital pages you arbitrarily select as a book file (e-Book).
  • newegg Send your notebook via e-Mail, and share them with your friends Easily copy or move to Outlook e-mail message. Send the handwritten e-Mail anywhere anytime. 1 out of 5 eggsVery inaccurate

Pros: Great concept

Cons: Unfortunately, the capturing of what you write is very inaccurate. It only captures about 1/3 of what you write. I used the notepad that came with it which has quite a few pages so it is fairly thick. With the full thickness it may have captured 1/3 of what I wrote. I tried a test on one page and it still didn't capture everything.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I use it for school and when its pluged in the computer you can search for words to help study!

Cons: You have to buy the other software it does not come with it. I wish it came with 2 with ink and one with only a pointer to use when its connected to the computer

Other Thoughts: Its a great product! It has a great battery life

5 out of 5 eggsWrks as advertised

Pros: Works as advertised. The handwriting software is Extra, but explained that it is. For the price you can not beat it. My handwriting if rated as bad to worse and it works great.

Cons: Wish I could write on it when connected to PC also instead of a gigantic mouse pad.

Other Thoughts: Great for School and Work. I use it for uploading notes from meetings. My wife has one and uses it at school for the same purpose.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm glad I read the reviews

Pros: I give this product kudos in it's features. Great to use connected to the computer or disconnected from it.

Cons: The fact that you have to purchase the MyScript Notes software for additional features. Not necessary for all but it would have been an awesome plus to have it bundled and not just as a 30 trial software.

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with what I have seen so far. This will be a great time saver as well.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Easy to use, easy to setup. Works as advertised.

Cons: No dual monitor support. Contacting tech support
for a possible workaround was fruitless.

2 out of 5 eggsCool... for a piece of junk

Pros: Light weight, easy to carry, nice feel to it. All buttons and do-dads are pretty intuitive.

Cons: Limited help screens in software but easy to figure out but the big thing... the OCR software is DEMO only. The web link to buy the software is dead but found it for about $60. Also drops characters like crazy so not very accurate either.

Other Thoughts: Sixty bucks! That's half the cost of the stupid tablet. NewEqq... you'll see this one coming back! Without OCR it's just a fancy Etch-A-Sketch... nothing more.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy customer - usefull device

Pros: - Very good feel overall
- Not too heavy, not too thick
- Easy to use (software included too)
- Pen provided works well
- Product operational out of the box
- No need for special paper

Cons: - Pen looks a little dull
- Be great to have 2 pens (red / black)
- Proprietary format for pages (read the other thoughts on this)

Other Thoughts: Productivity has increased since I no longer have to re-type meeting minutes. The ability to draw diagrams in meetings and get them on the screen within minutes is also a big plus. The device gives you access to the pages as if you had another USB storage device connected to the PC (ie. you can browse from windows explorer). Pages imported are in a proprietary format, however it is easy to download a print to PDF utility and convert them into PDF. I did not spend much time with the OCR application and won't comment on it.

Very happy with my purchase overall.
