1 out of 5 eggsIts great but..

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Had this item for a week but then the light turned off it might just be a faulty one so i returned it and got a new one nothing to worry about its still a great keyboard!

Cons: The light worked for a week.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Morning Semir,

I see you already took care of your defective keyboard. I apologize your keyboard is not working correctly. If it were to happen again make sure the USB cables are firmly in place on both ends and test the keyboard and/ or mouse on another USB that is not a USB hub as well as another computer. Does it work in BIOS? Does it work in Windows SAFEMODE? Can you make sure you have the latest USB Drivers and Motherboard BIOS Firmware? If all else fails you can register your product on our Fanzone for an RMA Request along with your invoice and serial number at the following link below.

Regards,

3 out of 5 eggsGood Combo

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Works and feels great, led's are a nice color. I got this as a temp solution to my budget gaming pc. I plan on getting a higher quality keyboard and mouse later.

Cons: I have to disconnect the mouse when I shut down the computer otherwise the blue led's stay on. The keys are a bit hard to read unless you have the keyboard lights on. The volume up and down buttons feel awkward to push, almost like they get caught on the frame when you push them down.

Other Thoughts: Great solution for a low price!

4 out of 5 eggsFeels nice, looks nice

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Has the nice mechanical feel on the keyboard personally I like these kind of keyboards. Both the keyboard and the mouse are a nice bright blue and it's not that ugly sky blue.

Cons: Well, I wish the mouse was slightly bigger so it fits in the hand nicer, it's a little small and would have to get used to.

Other Thoughts: Great keyboard and mouse, and I would recommend this pair, also for $30 it's a great combo

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Entry Level.

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: The main con was the price, the value, and the looks. Huge upgrade for some people

Now, this thing was 30.00 for a gaming keyboard AND mouse. The mouse was a HUGE upgrade from playing with an old cheap Logitech. It's pretty ergonomic, you can change dpi on the fly and it has 4 buttons.

Keyboard looks pretty good, has media keys, some type of Palm/wrist rest and has little feet :D. It has grippers to hold it down as well.

Cons: Mouse is still, pretty cheap. An upgrade personally for me, but lots of plastic. Side buttons are a bit flimsy, scroll wheel is a bit choppy but not horrid,

Keyboard is kinda sticky, spacebar is very loud if you playing an Fps and you gotta jump to "Go Faster". Build quality is flimsy, if you type hard, it will bend a bit but it won't come near breaking.

Other Thoughts: Good entry level set. Cheap, has its cons but not enough to doc any eggs. I would say, a good value.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Price, Decent Quality!

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: What can I say?
For it's price, and cool LED's it's a good choice
-Satisfying key-press sound
-Easy controllable LED & Mouse DPI
-Media Buttons

Cons: I didn't give it three eggs because for the price the quality is still good, but there are quite some drawbacks.
-Buttons get a bit greasy and ware out quickly
-Sometimes letters repeat (not to big of an issue, but eventually bugs me off)
-The wheel on the mouse becomes quite squeeky
-Sensors on the mouse freeze at points (annoying when aiming in games)

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend this if you want quick DPI changing options with a low budget, not necessarily the best for aim games (as the mouse freezes. The cord is really sturdy, and with a lot of bending may become loose.

5 out of 5 eggsHow to turn off the mouse LED after shutdown on Windows 10

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: This is a guide for Windows 10, any version.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you have Windows 10 and are hating the fact you can't shut off the LED' s on the mouse at shutdown on any LED lit up mouse, here is a quick guide to doing that. Do this in the order presented:

Go to: Notifications---All Settings---Devices---Mouse & Touchpad---Additional Mouse Options---Hardware---Properties---Change Settings---Power Management---Uncheck the box marked "Allow this device to wake the computer".

That's it, your done. After shutdown, your mouse will no longer stay lit up. This will work on any LED lit mouse. Your welcome :-)

5 out of 5 eggsWho doesn't have $30?

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: For the price, you can't beat the combo. I paid $80 for just a gaming keyboard with backlighting from VValmart, Razar to be exact, and the backlighting on this keyboard is superior. The mouse feels right, has a decent weight, and lights up nicely. For anyone complaining the mouse stays on after powering off your PC, you need to check your BIOS and ensure USB POWER is disabled after the PC is turned off. Each PC manufacturer is different, so check their website. Some might not even have that option, but the "defect" is your PC, not the mouse.

Second, anyone complaining you can't see the keys when Scroll Lock (enable/disable LED) is off, probably isn't a very good at typing. You shouldn't look at the keyboard to type, I wrote this entire review with only two typos and had the LED's off. Then again, why would you buy an LED keyboard and intend to play a game with the LEDs off?

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Looks good and hasn't had any issues 4 months in. Blue LEDs arent too bright and keys feel nice enough for a $25 keyboard.

Cons: Only con to me is the blue led on the mouse doesnt turn of with the computer. this can be annoying at night since this is in my room.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Very inexpensive for the quality you get, you could find a similar keyboard (with no mouse) for around 50 dollars at places like Wal-Mart.

Little ghosting on the keyboard, I haven't noticed any so far, and I play games with it frequently.

The mouse has on the fly DPI change, which is nice for those that use it in games, and also two side buttons.

Cons: The keyboard is nearly unusable if not lit up, and to be lit up, it requires that Scroll Lock be on. For those that plan to use this for things other than gaming, this might be something to consider.

The mouse remains lit as long as it's plugged in, even if your computer is shut down.

Other Thoughts: I personally like the aesthetic, though more expensive keyboards tend to look better. Keep in mind that any gunk that ends up under your keys tends to be very visible on backlit keyboards.

The mouse wheel is distinctly separate from the two mouse buttons. There is a very noticeable gap, and if you like to keep your mouse fingers close together, you'll notice it. The wheel is also kind of high profile and sticks out of the mouse a bit more than you might expect.

4 out of 5 eggsA year later...

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: High quality for the price. I did not notice any real ghosting during my ownership, and the keys always felt tactful and responsive. The backlight and the coloring is an obvious bonus. The DPI button on the mouse is a true godsend, and the fact that I can turn off the backlight when needed is nice.

Cons: I decided to come back after a year to warn those hooked in by the price of the issues that myself and another gentleman I am acquainted with ran into during our use of this model.

As you have read in other reviews, the mouse wheel squeaks terribly. I found that after about six months, the squeaking ceased almost completely. The mouse has a rather noticeable break-in period.

I usually put my PC to sleep rather than shutting down, but I've noticed that the keyboard does not acknowledge the first keystroke after waking up from a sleep cycle. The second keystroke on is fine. This has caused undue duress multiple times.

The LED backlight bulb below my arrow keys has begun to flicker occasionally, which is rather annoying.

Most recently, I've noticed that the mouse's laser is beginning to fade. I will be replacing this model soon, only after a year of ownership.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I still recommend this model to anyone looking for a cheap gaming setup. I just don't recommend it to anyone seeking a long-term solution.
