5 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: -3 different colours to choose from
-fits my big hands nicely

Cons: -it would be nice if it was cheaper, not really a con. you can probably buy a better keyboard for the price

Other Thoughts: I owned the original saitek eclipse keyboard and loved it. After 4 years of abuse it still worked like a brand new keyboard. I hope this one lasts as long.

5 out of 5 eggsEclipse II

Pros: Love this keyboard. My second ever Saitek keyboard and the only reason i replaced the first one is because other people in the house complained that the letters weren't on the keys anymore.
Very durable, gets knocked around alot and still works great. Key press is firm after 2+ years of abuse, doesn't feel sloppy like older keybaords get. Back lightin colors and dimmer work just as they should. Although it always resets to the default blue color.

Cons: The feet on it aren't made of steel. So after over 2 maybe 3 years of cats, dogs and kids knocking it around etc, the little feet to adjust the angel have broken off.

Other Thoughts: Wore down the silver color on the frame/outside of the keyboard before i wore the letters off on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsCool keyboard

Pros: Nice keyboard, good feel on the key clicks. Has led lighting on the left and right edges so I can see my shot glass : )

Cons: The #pad and arrow keys aren't very well illuminated mor so the arrow keys, but no big deal. The brightness nob seems to be useless and is also a little stiff to turn it.

Other Thoughts: I owned the first eclipse and loved it, and this keyboard is just as good. I find myself using the magenta/purple lighting the most it seems the brightest.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty Product / Bad Customer Service / Buyer Beware

Pros: Media Keys and Changeable backlight

Cons: I purchased this keyboard about 6 months ago and initially loved it. However, about 4 months in some keys started to become unresponsive. I either had to press them several times for it to register or they would repeat several times. It usually happens around the 'g', 'h' or 'n' keys.

I contacted Mad Catz about this issue and was told that I had to send it in for replacement. I would have to pay to ship it to them and the process would take 3-4 weeks to get it back. I requested that I prepay for a replacement, return their keyboard after I received it and they then reverse the charge once they received the defective one; so that I didn't have to be without it for the 3-4 week period but that wasn't an option. Also, considering I paid ~$50 for the keyboard and shipping it to them would cost me about $10-15, this really didn't seem like a great option.

I've asked their support team if there was another option that didn't require me to put more money into an item that I'm already disappointed with but they weren't willing to work with me at all. Considering their level of support and product quality I won't be purchasing from Mad Catz in the future.

3 out of 5 eggswell used but space bar broke again

Pros: Backlit keys
Number set on right side of keyboard
EZ to clean

Works for typing and some gaming.

Cons: Killed to keyboards (space bar) while playing BF2 and BF3.

Other Thoughts: I would use this again for everything besides gaming. Keys are loud and the imaging on the keys has worn off.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product AND support

Pros: Sturdy, excellent key pressure (I'm a writer and recovering gamer), and the controls for the color and strength of the backlit keys are perfect.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: I broke the spacebar while removing it to clean the yogurt I spilled on the keyboard. It was way out of warranty at this point, so after superglue failed to restore it to its former glory, I decided to try to buy a new key from the manufacturer before throwing the thing in the garbage. Even though the waranty had expired and the damage was totally my fault, the manufacturer sent me a replacement key at no charge. Now its as good as new, and I'm back to work in the wee hours with my backlit keyboard.
Excellent customer service!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Purchase

Pros: The keys don't depress too easily or too hard, feels just about right. Everything is where it should be, no freaky adjustments are necessary to find the enter key or page up/down. The lights are not overwhelming, it is easy to see the important keys in the dark.

Cons: The keys are not individually lit by LEDs, each light covers several keys so there are some areas that are not well-lit. Everyone else has already said this, so don't expect yours to be magically different.

Other Thoughts: This is a great buy if you don't care about LED's in every key (I didn't). I'm enjoying this keyboard thoroughly and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future. Every day I type several hundred pages of text, so far this has been a trooper and kept up with my fast fingers.

2 out of 5 eggsSaitek Eclipse II illuminated Keyboard fail

Pros: Looks great, colors are neat.

Cons: The button that changes back light colors sends unknown commands, causing issues with browsers, highlighting, hyperlinks, etc. This keyboard is unusable at my workplace.

Other Thoughts: No issues on my home Windows machine. Issues encountered were on LInux based machine.
