5 out of 5 eggspefect HTPC companion

Pros: It's small size makes it perfect to have laying around the living room for a PC connected to a TV, yet the buttons and the mouse-pad are very usable. The keys on the keyboard feel good, and allow for easy typing. The mouse-pad touch is smooth and the taps for button clicks are easy and predictable. The reception range has been great.. no issues

Cons: The little d-pad on the bottom middle works great as arrow keys, but the button in the middle, I want to instinctively use that as an "Enter" key after arrow-keying around.. but it doesn't work that way.

Other Thoughts: This was the perfect solution for my HTPC needs. I recently got a Lenovo IdeaCentre 300 PC-on-a-stick that I have connected to my TV. Running Kodi on that with this as a controller is just what I need!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

Pros: This is a great device for controlling my htpc or my laptop.
It provides potential for the ultimate level of convenient laziness!
I can sit and browse the internet or control anything I need on the big screen my media pc is connected to, or I can take it to my room, plug it into my laptop, and control the laptop from a distance and not have the laptop bouncing around my bed when I move.
The keyboard is nice and responsive (with a pleasant tactile "click" for each key press), and the touchpad functions perfectly. I also noticed very little latency when using either the touchpad or the keyboard.
Even more interesting; it works on consoles! Plugged it into all 4 current gen consoles and it worked smoothly. I haven't tried it on my roommate's wii or my GF's wii-u, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it works with them too in some manner as well.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is how deep inside the touch pad is from the surface. I was surprised that it wasn't on the same level, but that's just a personal silly issue, and nothing to detriment the actual functionality of the device.

Other Thoughts: The battery on this product varies in life, and seems to use more life doing the same things one day, then having a shorter or longer life the next time I do those things, assuming it was fully charged both times. It's not a massive fluctuation, but enough so that I noticed it.
GREAT product for the price point though. Considering getting another one for my parents' media center later this year.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth Half The Price

Pros: None so far

Cons: When I ordered this keyboard, I expected a Mini-Keyboard, not a Cell-Phone-Sized Keyboard. On top of that, there is no included software or drivers, so you can't disable tap-to-click, and you can't increase the sensitivity of the touchpad, which is like rubbing sandpaper and incredibly slow to respond.

3 out of 5 eggsOne Year later

Pros: Its compact and has secondary keys for media functions. The dedicated light button and backlighting are great for movie watching. Many keys available. Works with Linux ubuntu 12.04 . Can flip vertically for touchpad use.

Cons: Need to hold FN key to scroll. Setting for touchpad size does not stay. A few days after warranty expires, 1 year, the battery seems to be crapping out. Battery is fixed and non standard, BLC-4. From inside of batter it seems to have almost caught a small fire ? There is white and black residue like a small flame. Makes a high pitch squeal when charging now.

Other Thoughts: For $ assume it will last a year and is that worth it? If looking for longer term, buy better brand.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks okay, nothing exceptional

Pros: Compact

Cons: Limited working range

Other Thoughts: Wished I would have purchased another miniature keyboard input device. This device doesn't appear to charge properly and has an extremely limited working distance.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing little toy

Pros: This thing is great. i can sit in my recliner with my feet up and relaxed instead of sitting at a desk

Cons: -no shift on the right side. it's really annoying having to reach over to the left side with your right thumb.
-Sometimes keys don't register so you have to press it again.
-mousepad sometimes jumps around a bit

Other Thoughts: great little wireless keyboard I love not having a board across my lap all the time to use a regular keyboard and mouse now

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: does as advertised, haven't experienced any of the problems other reviewers mention.
-good range
-good connectivity
-touchpad isn't as smooth as an apple trackpad, but is decent.
-i have pretty big fingers, and the keys seem big enough, with enough spacing between them (though i have learned to type proficiently on a smartphone). i have a pretty easy time typing.
-battery is pretty good so far, i even tested an old nokia battery i happened to have that was the same voltage, and it worked fine.

Cons: touchpad is a little smaller than i would like, and it doesn't remember the sensitivity setting after you turn it off, you have to change it each time if you want the lower sensitivity.

the backlight is good, but the color of the Fn symbols (the orange symbols on the buttons in the picture) on the keys is solid and not opaque like the white color of the normal key function symbols, so it doesn't show up with the backlight.

Other Thoughts: very worth the price to me, not sure why the other visiontek remotes are more expensive. i chose this one because i thought it would be the easiest to type on, and the arrow keys are around the "e" button in the center.

4 out of 5 eggsOver all GREAT keyboard!

Pros: Wireless range is good. Able to control music playing in my room from the kitchen. The compact size is awesome as well, takes a little getting used to though. Same size as a Hersheys bar. Nicely placed on/off switch to the side right above usb charginging port. Convenient LED's to indicate keyboard status. Backlit keys make night usage incredibly easy. Unit automatically goes to stanby mode after a period of no usage to conserve battery. Works right out of the box without the need to install drivers. I use Linux, identifies as a standard keyboard.

Newegg is da bomb!

Cons: USB dongle needs to be placed on the front/ top of case to be affective. If your case doesn't have front ports then a USB extension should be used to bring the dongle towards the front (luckily I already had one).

Other Thoughts: This thing is super sweet and for the price not much is competing with this thing. I got it as a temporary solution until I cough up the cash for the MX5500. Then I'll probly use it for my HTPC build. Probly get a few more in the future for gifts and other builds.

4 out of 5 eggsthis thing is sweet! but will not charge

Pros: this thing does everything you could want. quick launch for media player, media controlls, email, web, print, windows key, on and on. mouse ad is really good, dpi settings. backlight is awesome. web scrolling. single key ctrl+alt+del. just plain sweet. bought a gear head wireless unit kinda like this for $5 more sucked so bad i returned it and got this, would be happy if it would take a charge

Cons: will not take a charge. kept plugged into computer for 12hrs/wall for 12 more nothin. in one weeks time i have ordered this, and a set of crucial ballistics 2x4gb 1600 ddr3, this wont charge and the set of ram one was bad so i rma'd the ram (took over a week) only to get 2 bad sticks back in return! ram was for a customers custom computer build so i ended up going and buying a set out of my pocket just to finish his computer in under 2wks! is there no quality controll what so ever at newegg? out of 5 thing 4 were defective, almost afraid to see what they rma me back this time (in a week)

1 out of 5 eggsExtra Info

Pros: Compact, has USB dongle holder, works OK.

Cons: Warning: I purchased the standard battery size from Nokia, since the unit had a dead battery when I bought it. The Nokia battery will not allow the back plate back on, as it is 1mm thicker than the OEM battery, even though the part number is identical. This means that when the battery dies, you might not be able to replace it.
