4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: High refresh rate
Swivel and pivot and rotation
1920x1080 24inch display
It's a TN panel
No visible backlight bleed
Relatively small bezel
No audible electrical noise for internal components
Cool to the touch

Cons: This is a great monitor highly recommend but it has some pretty significant flaws

When blur reduction is enabled it's much dimmer than normal and it has a Very noticeable ghosting issue, and when disabled the picture looks noticeably blurrier.

It has issues with some programs/games running at 144hz but that's beyond the point (can fix most issues with running it at 120hz)

The OSD is very sluggish and hard to match the button, that are on the bottom of the display, to the little pictures on the screen

Other Thoughts: The monitor is updated to the current version 4 firmware.

I am a competitive CS:GO player and the ghosting with blur reduction is a complete turn off for me using try feature so I keep it off all the time. But with it off you see much more blurred pictures displayed on the screen. It takes a bit of time to calibrate the colors to someone what decent colors so they don't completely look washed out and horrid. But it is a TN panel running at 144hz so you should expect that.

The monitor is great even though it has some serious flaws but at its price point you can't beat it. The monitor is always cool never warm or hot doesn't make any noises has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the left side of the the bezel but doesn't have another one as a source input rendering the port useless, it doesn't bother me so I didn't take a egg for that.

In conclusion I would like to see a firmware that fixes the issues with ghosting and possibly the OSD better though through in a revision of this monitor. But I would still recommend this to a entry level competitive gamer on a budget. For 249 USD there is simply not a better option.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic FPS Monitor

Pros: Incredibly responsive monitor. 144hz is a HUGE advantage to fast paced shooters and twitch shooters (e.g. CSGO). The monitor is very well constructed and has a nice matte bezel which adds to the premium feel. The OSD is a bit slow but has plenty of options. It also allows you to save up to three gaming profiles to save your settings for later use. Surprisingly, the lateral viewing angles were much better than I expected out of a TN monitor. The colors don't get terribly unless you're sitting far to one side. Moving vertically changes the colors much more quickly but isn't really an issue since this isn't being used as a TV.

Cons: Monitor has very washed out colors out of the box. I needed to download an ICC profile in order to make the color of the monitor useable. After that there were no issues. A minor qualm is how dim the monitor gets when you enable Blur Reduction. This is expected because of how the monitor strobes using this function, however it also washes out the colors. I tend to leave Blur reduction off for these reasons.

Other Thoughts: Download an ICC profile! This fixes the biggest 'issue' with the monitor with its washed out colors. Otherwise, a fantastic choice for FPS gamers.

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT buy this monitor.

Pros: It's pretty
Highly customizable color settings
Lots of settings in the menus

Cons: Blur reduction either reduces backlight brightness or doesn't really do anything at all (Depending on whether you use the blur busters application or not)
OSD is sluggish
Colors are difficult to calibrate to look ideal

Other Thoughts: I would only buy this if you're not serious about your refresh rate being decent.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: I know I'm going to love this monitor. I already own one and use it daily.

Cons: It was a DOA.

Other Thoughts: I don't know who the short sight goes to whether its BenQ or Newegg. You would really think by the year 2015 things would be checked by BenQ before they were sent off. I realize things get damaged in shipping but then maybe BenQ needs to fix their packing issues. For a company such as BenQ I expect better.

5 out of 5 eggsWONDERFUL

Pros: No tearing
Perfect 144 frames
I used Ninjas in Pyjama's custom color profiles, looks awesome
0 dead pixels
Has stood up to a few re-locations when I took it to my friends' houses

Cons: Please do not use the default colors. Look up tutorials on fixing them.

Other Thoughts: I would buy this monitor again, and so should you.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor, possible compatibility issue

Pros: 144hz !!! What could be better than that
Smooth gameplay for FPS if you have a high frame rate.

Cons: So apparently skype wont run at 144hz so you have to have your resolution set to 120hz or lower. You can manually set games to run at 144hz but that takes a little more work to do. I believe its also related to running an AMD gpu and using skype at 144hz will crash your dispaly.

Other Thoughts: Skype needs to work on its program to make it work in 144hz with AMD driveres.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Amazing quality 144hz is such a big difference. If you're a gamer currently playing on 60hz you need to upgrade. I can't believe how much better this is!

Cons: Color Calibration is horrible at first but you can fix it yourself :)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat FPS Monitor; Requires Calibration

Pros: -- Outstanding response time and zero flicker really make FPS gaming better (BF4: ultra settings, 1080p @ 60Hz)

-- Once calibrated, the monitor looks great and colors are very accurate for TN panel

-- Has 3 extra buttons on the bottom right side that you can set as "Custom Keys" to specific options you might access frequently like blur reduction, brightness and low blue light

-- Matte finish on the screen helps reduce reflection

-- Adjustable height, tilt and swivel

Cons: -- The default settings are all ATROCIOUS; color, sharpness, contrast, gamma are all very jacked up out of the box, and switching from the "FPS" profiles to the "Standard" profile provides little improvement (HIGHLY RECOMMEND using the Windows Display Color Calibration to get the best calibration, and turn on ClearType Text)

-- BenQ Display Pilot software is trash; use Widows Display Color Calibration first then set the 3 custom key buttons on the bottom right of the monitor to whatever you need (like blur reduction)

-- Not really a con per say, but the brightness at 100% is like looking directly into the sun. I'm in an office with 2 windows and only need the brightness at 25%

-- No DP

-- Windows will only let me set the refresh rate at 60Hz for some reason; I am running a DVI-D dual link cable from this to my R9 280x with res at 1920x1080 but it still will not give me the option to increase any higher than 60Hz. I heard you should only change the refresh rate through the Windows display settings so I'm not quite sure what to do about this...

Other Thoughts: My build:
-- Rosewill Blackhawk ATX Tower
-- Corsair AX760 PSU
-- MSI Z87-G45 mobo
-- Intel Core i5-4670k
-- NZXT Kraken X31 liquid cooler
-- XFX R9 280X 3GB GPU
-- 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866MHz C9
-- Samsung 840 EVO SSD
-- Noctua NF-F12 (on NZXT radiator) and NF-S12A fans
-- BenQ XL2411Z monitor

5 out of 5 eggsStellar gaming monitor

Pros: Best value I've seen in the field of 144hz gaming monitors. This product is usually compared to ASUS's VG248QE--I've heard both those and the 2411Z's use the same panel, but the 2411Z has a matte finish as opposed to the ASUS's glossy (and more reflective) finish. BenQ also offers more versatile firmware that lets you change more with the monitor, and it's in this firmware where the monitor really shines.

Some reviews of this monitor decry its awful out of the box colors--the packaging of the monitor even states that its default settings are not for everyone and can be extensively altered. I'm not sure why BenQ has chosen such awful default settings, but if you look around online you can find some wonderful profiles that only take a few minutes to set up. And once you do, this monitor truly shines. Its colors are almost on par with an IPS panels while offering far better response time and refresh rate.

Cons: Mine shipped with a green stuck pixel. Only one and it doesn't bother me, so I'm not going to dock an Egg.

Other Thoughts: I haven't used this monitor for NVIDIA 3D Vision and I honestly couldn't care less about the feature. I bought this monitor to play Counter Strike and gaming on 144 hz is honestly worlds different than gaming on 60 hz. Check out the Blurbusters BenQ blur reduction utility
