Question 1

I can not get this product to work.  Right out of the box, it constantly overheats.  It will not stay on for more than 5 minutes at a time,  before needing 15 to 30 minute cool down.   Fan appears operational.  There is no blockage of vents.  Room temp is 70 degrees.  What can I do to get this thing to work correctly?

Sounds like a defective unit because I've never heard of these having an issue like that. Mine worked immediately and required to troubleshooting to set up. You're running it on normal home voltage? They do get very warm hence the beefy fan - so if your fan is running and it still overheats I'd go through the process of a replacement.  Sorry about your experience I love the product.

Question 2

Out of a 1 - 10 how would this manage? Looking for a projector for a 84 x 84 screen. Projecting from a laptop and/or television for a museum...

I made the mistake of buying this projector before truly understanding a number of important issues ... 1.  If your screen is fixed,  it is extremely painful to figure out where to mount this on the ceiling.  I was replacing a 15 yr old projector that was mounted 11 feet from a fixed screen.   This projector can not go more than 7' back from the screen ... necessitating massive rework of outlet and wiring.   2.  My old projector had BOTH vertical and horizontal picture adjustment capabilities,  allowing for some leeway in getting the picture matched to the screen.  This projector only has vertical adjustment.    FINALLY - the project came non-operational.  Constant overheating.  Would not work.   And Newegg does not allow refunds on this item, only exchanges.   I deeply regret my purchase.   Just one man's experience,  for what it's worth.
