5 out of 5 eggsgood mouse

Pros: Its been a great mouse for the last 7 months. The tracking is absolutely perfect and the dpi switch is handy. Never had any problem with this mouse ever.

Cons: Until now. Sure the left button is starting to miss-fire but thats to be expected from a heavily used mouse sooner or later. I'm not going to deduct an egg for that. It has served me very well but it's time to move on and put it out to pasture. Rest easy old friend.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Entry level mouse

Pros: Great for an entry level gaming mouse.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Very light, I'm a gaming enthusiast of sorts, I'm used to a much heavier mouse, also not a fan of optical.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Low-end Gaming Mouse

Pros: - Lightweight
- Relatively low cost for the value
- Simple and straightforward
- FLAWLESS optical sensor
- Standard Logitech construction
- High durability Omron micro mechanical switches
- Reasonable DPI range (you do NOT need much more than 2000-3000 DPI even if you're a really high sensitivity user)
- Zero complaints or issues with Logitech's software

Cons: - Lacks an additional thumb button (see other thoughts)
- Scroll wheel registers a movement too early (before it actually clicks into place) once in a blue moon, but is fine 99.9% of the time
- Some may not be a fan of the graphics on the top of the mouse
- I like the simplistic construction, but to some it may seem barebones

Other Thoughts: Picked this mouse up at a local retailer for about $35 mostly because it was cheap, a Logitech, and it said "Gaming Mouse" on the packaging. I needed something quick and dirty that would get the job done for a few weeks until I could do some research and order another, hopefully better mouse. I expected the G100s to be better than your run-of-the-mill brandless optical mouse, but what I didn't expect is just how much I would actually enjoy using it over other mice.

First of all, I would like to address the weight of this particular product. It is probably one of the lightest mice available on the market. Most other light mice that I've seen are pretty terrible in comparison with poor construction, tracking issues, and dodgy software. That being said, there's also a removable weight inside (requires brief disassembly) that can make this thing even lighter. For use in RTS games as well as MOBAs and shooters, this thing kicks behind. If you play SC2 or twitch shooters like Quake or Unreal Tournament, I would highly recommended this mouse.

Secondly, at $35-$40 the price certainly can't be beat for all the features you get. Logitech's put some kind of hydrophobic coating on the surface which I definitely find to be helpful with sweat management. They've put in ultra-durable Omron switches - a feature that they were in no way obligated to put in a mouse at this price point. The best bit, though, is the sensor they've included in the G100s. According to Logitech's site, it's some kind of infrared (I think?) LED sensor, but as far as I can tell, it's one of the most accurate and reliable sensors I've ever used. Not once have I had a single tracking issue - it's just point and click every time without so much as a hiccup. I'm amazed at what I can't get this sensor to do, whether it's super low sensitivity with large erratic movement, or high sensitivity with barely a nudge, this thing will not fail at anything!

Build quality is pretty standard for Logitech mice - it's a piece of molded plastic, but it feels solid and doesn't show any signs of fatigue after a year of hard, daily abuse. Some people have misgivings about the more rigid cord, but so far, the cord hasn't gotten in my way or become a nuisance.

Now, let's talk about the cons, shall we?
The inclusion of a thumb button on the side really wouldn't have added much to the production cost of the mouse and might have been a handy feature. This is kind of a personal preference, but I'm almost glad that they didn't include one. I know I listed it as a con, but I feel like mice with side buttons have to be handled a little more gingerly and can't be thrown around as much, lest you accidentally press something that you didn't intend to. As mentioned above, the G100s is great for twitch shooters, and part of that is due to it's simplistic, no-gimmicks focus on the essential features that make a great gaming mouse.

In summary, the G100s is a great little mouse packing an impressive set of fe

5 out of 5 eggsG100s:11 Months of satisfying service

Pros: Light. I know it's a con for some people, but for me it is the light weight I wanted.
I bought this mouse to play battlefield 3. The 10 dollar M100 served me well, only that I wanted to switch sensitivity on the go. during infantry combat/inside a tank I prefer low sensitivity but in a AA I want high sensitivity. The dpi switch of g100s does the job so Im happy with it.
It's slightly heavier than my cheap m100 but with the little extra weight it brings stability also.

Cons: Cord is stiff, but as a low end gaming mouse u can't expect much.
Price. I bought this when I was in America, when I came back to Asia I found the shops here sell it cheaper($28 in the shops, $20 online). America has the cheapest price for most electronics, not this one.

Other Thoughts: After 11 months of gaming the left click started malfunctioning. I don't put this as a con coz I believe it is a reasonable mileage, and for the time it worked it served me well.
I am planning to buy another one.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor quality for the price

Pros: When it worked the mouse was fairly decent. It was a corded and comfortable to use.

Cons: Cord was a bit stiff. The left button hung open after about 5 months of use. When this happened I had to leave the mouse in my app and unplug it, then quickly unpackage a replacement I happened to have lying around. For the price I would expect it to last as long as the mice that are half the price. This mouse was not as precise in Photoshop as some of the cheaper laser mice I've used. Overall I was not impressed with the quality. The plastic finish Logitech's been using of late causes a layer of build up on the buttons which can be embarrassing if someone else happens to need to touch the mouse.

Other Thoughts: I've had a few of the Logitech mice exhibit the left click switch failure. I had purchased this one in the hopes they used better switches in their more expensive mice (other companies do this with keyboards). I typically use the wireless mice that can be found for half the price of this one. Now I typically get 4-5 months of use out of a Logitech product, but I do use them 20 hours a day.

5 out of 5 eggsPhenomenal tracking

Pros: Superb tracking. DPI button switches from three dpi settings. This can be configured in Logitech Gaming Software to better suit your individual needs.

Cons: None as of yet

Other Thoughts: I am a big man, but have tiny hands. I love my old standby, a Logitech MX 518, but it is a wee bit too big for my tiny hand. Even with its ambidextrous design, the 100s is a much better fit for me.

2 out of 5 eggsStarted out good

Pros: Great DPI. Good percision. Easy to use software.

Cons: After about 2 days of use the mouse started squeaking every time you left clicked. I did a RMA with the mouse and got a second one. Once again after about a day of use this mouse started squeaking.

Other Thoughts: Thinking about returning the mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsnice 3 button gaming mouse

Pros: nice 3 button mouse for RTS/FPS
nice long flexible cord
good coating/grip on the mouse
ambidexrous design
price (picked up for $20)
decent tracking/responsive
good button clicks
light

Cons: wish it had option for 1000hz polling instead of 500hz max.
wish it came with additional mouse feet.

Other Thoughts: people complaining about not enough buttons on the side of this mouse just because its a "gaming" mouse need to look elsewhere.

this is a standard 3 button layout which is the most you'll ever need for RTS or FPS gaming.
if you like to play mmo's or need additional buttons for macro's or whatever then go for something else.

dont rate this mouse down because of the lack of side buttons.

all in all a good refresh from the old G100
