Feature

Features
ON-CABLE CONTROLS
Keep the mute switch and volume dial close at hand for quick, precise audio adjustments. All attached to an extra long, x-meter cable.

DOLBY HEADPHONE 7.1 SURROUND SOUND
You can hear up to seven discrete channels of audio data plus the low-frequency effects (LFE) channel, known as 7.1 surround sound. Dolby Headphone technology perceptually positions each channel in the correct location to reproduce multi-channel content the way developers intended.

LAY-FLAT EARPIECES
We know even twin gamers are one-of-a-kind. For a personalized fit, the earpieces swivel up to 90 degrees. And because they can turn to lay flat, they're less prone to breakage from everyday wear and tear.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE CLOTH EAR CUPS
Marathon gaming sessions mean heat and sweat. We covered the G430 ear cups with carefully selected sports performance cloth for a comfortable, soft touch even after hours of use. And they slip off easily for washing to keep the headset in top shape.

LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN
The G430 earpieces have been designed to be slimmer and lighter, without skimping on audio quality. A lighter, balanced assembly means you stay focused on the game. You might even forget you're wearing a headset.

FOLDING, NOISE-CANCELLING MIC
When you want to be heard, you will be-loudly and clearly. The noise-cancelling mic can be adjusted to pick up your voice alone. Don't feel like talking? Easily fold it up and out of the way.

FULL-SPEED, ALL-DIGITAL USB
In-game sound isn't an effect. It's a critical component of game play. Our USB headphones surround you with aural information. The sound is crisp and clear, and the jack on your sound card stays open for desktop speakers.

2 out of 5 eggsFine at first.

Pros: Pretty comfy, and it worked very well the first 6 months I've had it.

Cons: Too many software issues. It kept becoming undetectable whenever I was trying to use it. It has to use a Dolby surround extension via usb to work, which I honestly think was the problem to begin with.

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend using this product for long term use. Any Issues I have had with the device, I could not find solutions for online, on their website, or through customer support. The problems I've had persisted for 6 - 8 months, and I've finally decided to invest into a new headset. I will not buy another logitech product, and should have followed my instinct when I first thought about buying a different product.

2 out of 5 eggsO.K. Headphones, horrible usb sound card

Pros: To start off they come somewhat nicely packaged. The color combination was nice for me since I go for an all black/blue color combo on my computer stuff. The pads on the headphones don't get hot on your ears due to the mesh material on the. The pads can also easily be removed if you ever need to clean them or what have you. The sound quality of the headphones is pretty decent considering they are pretty much a $30 headset. The band on the headset is easy to adjust, but doesn't loosen up on you. An inline mic mute and volume adjust nob is included on the cable and is easy to access. The mic boom moves up and out of the way when you don't need it but doesn't mute when put in the upright position which bothers me a little.

Cons: Now the cons. I will start off with the smaller stuff and work up to some of the other things. The "braided cable" or "paracord cable" tangles soooo easily. It becomes twisted up very easily just by taking off the headset and setting them down. Unless you set them down one way and pick them back up the opposite of what you did to set them down it will get tangled up, and until I setup a system of taking them off and putting them back on it was a pain for a while. Next up, the headband. Sure the material is somewhat comfortable from a softness perspective, however it is way to thin to comfortably support the weight of the headset. After about an hour or so I start to get an uncomfortable pressure spot on my head. The earcup pads are sort of soft but the material chosen to cover the padding is awful. Its stiff and scratchy on my ears and fairly uncomfortable. And the overall build quality of the headset feels cheap and flimsy. The plastic always feels like I have to be very careful with it otherwise it will snap. Now feel and how it actually works is a different thing. I have had them for a year and they haven't broken, yet. All things considered, they are a $30 pair of headset and honestly, pretty good.

And on that note. The usb sound card is freaking terrible. Yes positional audio is pretty good in all fairness. You can pinpoint things pretty good in online shooters. But at what cost I ask? The sound quality freaking tanks. Also the compatibility, I have found, is terrible. I have run into tons of applications that flat out don't work right. Left ear channel wont work on some things, then right ear. Some games lose audio for no reason. They up-charge you $40 for a usb sound card that just flat out sucks and sometimes doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: If you like the headset, I urge you to get the g230's which is the exact same headset that comes on the g430's. And spend the saved $40 on a sound card of you really want the simulated 5.1 or 7.1 surround.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset

Pros: Got $15 off with a promo NewEgg was running half a year ago, so the price was good. Comfortable cloth padding that doesn't promote sweating. Good volume. Surround Sound makes a huge difference if you are comming from a headset that doesn't have it.

Cons: Bass a little weak. Plastic feels a little cheap, but after packing and unpacking these from my drawer for a half a year, they have held up so far.

Other Thoughts: would recommend to a friend.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat headset for the price

Pros: -Good sound quality for the price

-Comfortable. I normally hate headsets because they always start to hurt around my ears after a long session of gaming. However, these headsets seems to apply force around the ears more evenly, therefore making them, comfortable (almost bedroom pillow comfortable).

Cons: -Don't use the usb software, it glitched some of my games and the sound quality is the same on my motherboard integrated soundcard. (GA-970A-UD3P)

Other Thoughts: Even with the garbage software, this headset is really good!! And since it use Jack connector you can still use it on your motherboard soundcard.

1 out of 5 eggsG430

Pros: Excellent sound quality
Great quality

Cons: I will be frank, these headsets are the most uncomfortable headset I have ever worn. The head cushion presses against the top of your head and causes pain. You can endure it for a minute or two, but after that it just becomes too painful to wear. I personally have a large head so that might just be my problem. So if you have a large head like I do, I recommend against buying these headset.

5 out of 5 eggsSoftware Surround Sound is getting better and better.

Pros: I've used these for about a month. And software surround sound works a lot better then I thought it wound. Though I must say that my Razer 7.1 Surround Sound has been the best I've used as far as precise moment of enemy player's and over all great sound without any cut off when running or looking around.

I'm now using a normal stereo headset from Razer. And have been using Razer Surround. I must admit that software SS is getting better but I like being able to go back to Stereo by just turning off Razer Surround Sound.

So if you are one to need Surround Sound then get a real 5.1 or 7.1 headset. though you're going to want a good sound card.

Cons: Not for Audiophiles.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset!

Pros: Comfortable to wear
Great sound quality
Great for the price
Mic is high quality and does not pick up breathing

Cons: Bass could be better
Logitech software must be active to use headset properly

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this headset any day for someone who is looking for a relatively inexpensive headset that is still pretty good.

5 out of 5 eggsBest headset i'v ever used

Pros: this headset has everything you could ever look for in a headset. the highs, mids and lows are just very great. the seperate usb sound card is something that logitech has done right and gives you the option to use that or use the headset with a higher end sound card! i used the usb sound card with the usb passthrough on my corsair k70 keyboard! highly recommend this headset!

Cons: none!

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Very nice sound quality
Surround sound is great
Mic quality is great
Uses metal where it is needed (for structure) and plastic where not, making it very light.
Braided cable is very tangle-proof. I have placed this in a backpack without any cable management and it hasn't tangled once yet.

Cons: Somewhat tight and uncomfortable, but you get used to it after about a week.

Other Thoughts: I would, and have recommended it to all my friends.
