Even under the toughest of conditions, e.g. 20°F, the PMX 680 Sports have been found to function well and maintain their flexibility. There is a reflective stripe on the neckband, providing extra visibility and safety, especially if you prefer to run after sunset.

These earphones come with a short cable which allows for a hassle-free experience especially when you wear your audio player around your neck or on your arm. However, you may attach the extension cable which comes integrated with a volume control, whenever you require added cable length. The PMX 680 Sports also feature a unique moisture protection system - it protects the sound system from sweat and water, no matter how heavy you work out (and sweat) or how heavy the rain may be.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat All-Weather Earphone

Pros: These stay on your head even in high winds and they fit your ear very well so they transmit full-range sound and the fit is extremely comfortable. The design was done by someone who understands athletes and its functionality reflects that. The cable is separable so if you wear something like an iPod Shuffle on your shirt collar, the cord is not too long. If you wear your music on an armband or waistband, there is an extension cord.

Cons: Over time, the neoprene covers on the earbuds can loosen up and come off. That happened on an earlier pair, but it has not happened on this pair.

Other Thoughts: These really can take a beating and they are basically waterproof. I run for an hour or more every day and I sweat a lot. These don't seem to be bothered by the water. I also jumped into a pool wearing them and they survived just fine.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor support

Pros: These headphones are quite comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Cons: The rubber earpiece covers have come off and been lost. Sennheiser offered to sell me some...for a price greater than a whole new pair! Very poor support.

Other Thoughts: The product is genuinely well-made, but a few problems coupled with poor support drag it down.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Worth It

Pros: Good sound, awesome fit, the cable is made out of nice material. Would be a darn near perfect running headphone but....

Cons: the stupid plastic volume control / extension cable broke after ~6 months. Still works fine with only the shorter cable, but that cable is far too short to actually use. Why do we need a cheap plastic volume wheel, when every music player has a volume control, and you need to be able to reach your player to change the song anyway? The volume wheel is a silly marketing bullet point that leads to an otherwise top notch product being garbage in less than a year. Stay the heck away!

2 out of 5 eggsThey fall apart.

Pros: solid construction, decent sound.

Cons: I have had 2 pairs and after a certain amount of sweat the glue holding the buds that go in the ear together comes apart and the headphones turn into a puzzle that can't be solved.
I don't recomment these if you use them for .. their intended use (exercise).

Other Thoughts: Fix these things guys. I have 2 pairs worth nothing and they were pretty expensive when i got them - 60 bucks for headphones that cant is a lot. normally the jack wears out on this type of thing -- the glue really ? (the reason i have 2 pairs is that i bought them together, i wouldn't make the same mistake twice)

3 out of 5 eggsWorked well till it deteriorated

Pros: Stays on your ears during runs which is what I got it for. Long cable also so I could keep the ipod in my hand while running.

Cons: Not durable even with the cable being supposedly stronger due to materials used. First the end of the plug stopped working and sound only came out to one ear so I removed the volume control and used a wire to extend it to its original length and it worked fine for awhile. Then the connector that originally went into the volume control also stopped acting appropriately.

Other Thoughts: Well I sent it back into Sennheiser about a week ago and I haven't heard anything back yet so we will see if they make good on the warranty

2 out of 5 eggsNice headphones except for heavy volume control gizmo

Pros: If you like behind-the-head headphones for running, which I do, these fit the bill nicely. I think the best way to use these would be with the short cable (no volume control) connected to a smart-phone on your arm. Unfortunately the short cable can't reach your waist which is where my MP3 player is when I run.

Cons: The volume control gadget is HEAVY and yanks on the headphones with every step, even when I use the included clip. This makes the headphones completely unusable to me for running.

Other Thoughts: Consider the Sennheiser PMX 680i model which appears to not have the volume control.

3 out of 5 eggsSlightly unfomfortable

Pros: No complaints about sound quality.

Cons: Overall uncomfortable. Hard to find the right position and keep the headphones stay in it.

Other Thoughts: This could be easily confused with a headset version sold by apple. This is not a headset - no microphone.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I needed

Pros: Newegg rocks, as always.. 3 day shipping took only 1 day.

* Fit securely, even while running and lifting
* Great sound quality for this price. They have strong bass response (punchy not boomy), and crisp albeit a bit laid back highs. The sound stage is surprising wide open.
* The cord is the perfect length for
* Volume control works well, is useful
* Cord doesn't tangle easily

Cons: * Not as compact as ear buds, makes for a tough pocket fit
* Bright yellow styling isn't for me... it's too showy, but makes for good road visibility

Other Thoughts: My old ear buds kept falling out and needed re-adjusting constantly so I went shopping for something else. I'm also a bit of an audiophile so I demanded something quality. The Sennheiser PMX 680 satisfied my needs perfectly.
